Verified Reviewer |Tank less water heater product purchased does not work properly
The Martin Cooling and heating company has not even called me to discuss what my concerns are. They could care less if i have a problem or not.
I have also contacted the BBB about these people and this did not get me any closer to resolve. Martin said that the warranty was up and there was nothing they could do. These people do not care about their customers at all.
This just goes to show what I am complaining about is how I have been ignored and like I said they could care less. I have also contacted Consumers affairs and consumer protection and have not heard back from either.
The unit was installed outside my house which was recommended by Martin plumbing. This was questioned by me that why this unit would be installed outside and not inside my house. The first week after installed the unit froze up and Martin plumbing was called to fix the problem which still exists. The install was not done properly and Martin had to put heating tape on the incoming water pipe and the issues kept happening.
I spoke to a woman at Martin plumbing and told her I was not happy and at that time she said they would remove this unit and install a unit I was happy with and that did not happen.
This last situation when freezing occurred was December 22, 2022 and when I called Martin plumbing who installed this unit I was told that the warranty was no longer active. I explained that this problem needed to be resolved and they acted like it was not their problem and could care less about my issues. They also left me hanging without hot water in my home for days. They told me that they would not be able to come out until sometime next week which was 4 or 5 days and that was unacceptable.
This also never happened and today is December 26, 2022 and I have not been contacted.
Since this tank less water heater was installed outside my house I have had numerous issues and had several plumbers do many things to help maintain this heater. I have had to maintain this unit by additional cleanings so that I have taken additional precautions not to have freezing issues or any additional problems like running water in my hose so as not to have the unit freeze up. This also cost additional money for water and sewer charges. When the temperature gets below freezing the outside unit would freeze up and I had to call a plumber to free the ice from this unit every time.
The plumbing companies Coolray, Hoffman Bros., and Mr.
Rooter all asked why this unit was not installed inside my house to keep from having all these issues. I explained that Martin plumbing had assured me that there would be no issues with this unit installed outside my house. The plumbers also mentioned that Martin plumbing must have had extra outside tank less water heaters they needed to get rid of or offered a big discount to Martin plumbing for pushing these outside units. I have spent over $2000.00in the past few years and every time the unit would freeze up I had to pay a plumber $350.00 or more to fix the problem.
If I was told the truth about this tank less water installation ($4800.00) in the first place I would not have had to spend all this money at least for this unit along with additional money ($2000.00) spent to keep this unit running.
I could have spent much less money for a traditional water heater replacing the old conventional water heater I had. The money I spent just to service this tank less water in the past three years would have paid for a replacement conventional water heater.
I have contacted Martin plumbing on Friday December 23, 2022 and had to leave a message. I wanted someone to contact me back about what they were going to do since I was not happy and have never been happy with this water heater and nobody has made an effort to get back to me. I think they see my phone number and refuse to address this serious issue.
They have made this situation worse and this is why I am contacting the Better Business Bureau. I want this unit put inside my house like it should have been in the first place, or refund me the full amount of this unit $4800.00.
