Rude staff

There have been 3 different occasions. 2 of which at the same store.

I have a brother that I have just reconnected with that has spent the past 8 months homeless.

I invited him to come stay with my husband and I on the terms that after he got settled and started a routine to find a job and my husband and I would provide him with work boots and clothes.

My brother is a bigger man and had literally came with nothing but the clothes on his back. Over xmas he received a few items but nothing that would be suitable enough to apparently shop at the Chinook location.

I understand that yes. They do see alot of theft because of the homeless that have gathered in that area. But it is not grounds for a manager to say "just leave already" as my brother and I were walking up to the till to pay.

We had done nothing to warrant such a rude individual.

I had been interacting with workers looking for the right sizes and even when I had asked to start a change room. Instead of taking the items that I had chosen I was pointed to the location of their unisex change rooms on either end. And when I had enquired about a certain size I was told that what is there is what's there. Or no they don't carry it.

Every time. I was followed (stalked) around the store but never actually helped. Close range. Which doesn't bug me at all.

As I have nothing to hide because I'm not doing anything wrong. Atleast train the staff to do their job and be informative of the brands you carry and be able to hold a conversation while the breath over your shoulder.

Extremely disappointed in the way things were handled and appalled that someone of that position would go that route. Especially in front of all of the employees she had gathered around her as it was the end of the night

Preferred solution: Chinook location to go through a training Stop profiling and judging a book by its cover. Understand that not everyone is trying to steal from the company you work for.

There’s obviously more going on here. I’m a plumber and been there many times in my dark grey work pants and grey shirt with name patch on.

I don’t feel underdressed when I’m there. My impression is anyone looking suitable to eat at a roadside diner fits in here. Was the worker wrong? Yes.

However, something provoked this response. Just make sure hair/facial hair groomed.

Clean looking non-wrinkled clothes. No pajamas/slippers.

Disappointed in customer service..

I asked the girl working at Abbotsford branch. She actually lied to me about a certain brand of Silver jeans that are on-sale.

They didn't have my size, so I asked if any other branches do. She said, no they aren't available at other stores. I then asked if I could order them in and I'll pick up or deliver to me...she pretended she looked really fast answered me, no other branches have them and can't order in. I said why?

She said discontinued. I went home and decided to look if they are in other Mark's branches. They aren't discontinued and are available in a few local Mark's branches.

Very disappointed in this girls lieing to a customer for no reason I can think of except pure laziness on her part, didn't feel like ordering or checking around for them. Angry customer

When Marks work warehouse says online orders can be picked up within an hour thats a flat out lie to customers to get them to place orders and customer service can not cancel your order or refund your credit card either once u r waiting u r waiting and your purchase is in complete limbo, terrible customer service

Price discrepancy

I purchased a pair of rain boots from Marks for $49.99. When i got home I noticed the price tag attached to the boots was $39.99.

Went back to the store and did received a refund and repurchase at the $39.99 price. BUT, according the scanner price accuracy code I should have received an additional $10 off. The manager informed me that they do not follow that rule.

Canadian Tire does though and considering you are owned by CT this makes no sense to me at all. I am really disappointed about this and the fact that I had to make another trip to the store to receive the refund on a incorrect price.

I went to do a return that I paid cash for had my receipt they would not refund my cash they would only give me a gift card. I guess this is some kind of new policy. Bottom line dont pay with cash if you think you may need to return it.

Before buying online, I check that I can return an item to a local store. The website said I could but the manager couldn't get the computer to process it. It took four phone calls to get a return label and even then I had to pay the postage, The process has taken six weeks so far and the refund should be processed in 30 days.

We had bought these boots in Charlottetown in PEI. I am so disappointed in these boots. They should definitely not be the price they are. The heels are caved in. They are leaking around the back rubber piece. Marks is usually our go-to clothing and work boot place. I think some of their clothing that they sell are being made so cheaply now. So sad. We work hard for our money. I bought these boots in October 29th. And they are complete garbage.

When I placed the order - for 6" Work Boots - the system displayed my address. Okay.

When I checked the status of the order the next day it showed one address for "billing" and a different (incorrect) address for "shipping".

The alleged customer service reps couldn't cancel the order or redirect it to the correct address.

A refund will take 6-8 weeks.

So basically, the service sucks, the website sucks, and the product was never received.

And I went to the shipper (U.P.S.) who couldn't do anything either.

BTW, Marks wanted feedback on my experience, but when I sent it to them (without any 'bad' words) they refused to accept it. My submission was moderated."

Online ordering/customer service

I went to there website online to buy some clothing. I put in the gift cards for the amount and they took the money of the cards.

When I went to the next stage of process to confirm the order. An external error message came up stating that I still owed the money on the order. The gift cart balance was 0$ on 1 card had $89.11 on the other card. Called customer service got 1 of there agents.

They could not explain where the money went.

They basically said try the gift card again in 24 hours. Meanwhile the sale is over and I lose the articles of clothing that I wanted and my money is gone with no explanation to where it went.

I went in to shop and was not acknowledged the entire time I was there.After 20 minutes .I had a couple items to try on but the only staff I saw at the time was the cashier who was with a customer''I put the items down and started to leave.I happened to look down at foot wear and 2-3 staff were standing there talking.The only reason I know they were staff is I saw them walking by me at one point with name tags.Again no stopping to see if I needed help.VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE>

I have been shopping at Marks since the 1970's and back then the stores carried a great selection of flannel shirts in TALL sizes. NOW THE STORE CARRIES NO TALL SIZES AT ALL IN SHIRTS OTHER THAN T SHIRTS. SINCE I REQUIRE XXL TALL AND AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO BUY TALL PRODUCTS I WAS INFORMED YOU NO LONGER CARRY THEM. I WILL NOT BE SHOPPING AT YOUR STORE ANY MORE.

I purchased dakota work boot from Marks warehouse Ill CC you on the picture down copy receipt and what happened with my boots I do construction work in electrical .its not in a big construction site it just a renovation big high-rise in downtown theres not much work you can damage like that when you seen the picture and its not safe to walk because the bottom metal is torn apart which is totally an accept .Its a safety hazard cuz and trip hazard.
