I purchased a Visa gift card so as not to carry a lot of cash on vacation. The card never left my possession, and I saved all the receipts for my purchases.
A fraudulent charge was submitted, and I was told I can only dispute the charge AFTER it is completed (it has been pending for 3 days), and that they allow 30 days for a pending charge to go through, and that they cannot request proof from the "merchant" that the card was presented! So why do they ask for the card to be registered, and signed, if it offers no protection?
Someone would have to physically take cash from me to use it, yet they can use a gift card that I am still holding! Never again!
