Beware of these Scammers!
hi,
In continuation, i had a similar experience. I was looking for Google support and i got connected to these guys. They tried to scam me for $149 to clear some network issue. I was quite surprised as to why google was more keen to do my network support, so asked him if he was in google and why are they doing network issues, the conformed to me that he was from google and do it support their own product. He accessed my computer and some data .
Later I investigated and got to know that htey are macpatchers so called up the number and the call taker told me that they work for 11 to 11 and it was weird, so asked him that their website shows and auckland address and then he said they closed NZ operations and do from auckland . he later disappered from the line.
BIg time scammers!

Aggressive trawling for sales - this is a SCAM
I fell for this scam over a year ago after contacting Google, of all places. MacPatchers might have been legitimate at some stage but not since my dealing with them.
I stupidly paid this guy via BPay so that was the last I saw of that. He usually goes by a Hollywood version of an Anglo name like Nick Brand or David Hill - he is clearly the same person from the Sub-continent. He will remote access your PC and proceed to tell you all sorts of woe - the end point being to flog you Norton at a 'discount offer'. The infections and errors he will tell you about are a fiction.
He will hector and harangue for not keeping you PC secure. If you tell him your'e not interest he will lose interest very quickly but let him access your data and he'll show some enthusiasm. I have subsequently viewed a video on Youtube of this same 'technician' - same script, same aggressive MO - Hollywood name, same script, etc.
This is very entertaining despite me being duped myself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ELaE291gmU

Macpatchers - Technical Support Review
My email was hacked, I was trying to contact Microsoft to see if I could just close the account or find out what was going on. Was put through to what I now know was macpatchers, I then supposedly signed up for them to do something, I have no idea what and it was going to cost me $200, I have college fees to pay and am only working part time, I would never have knowingly signed up for anything that would cost me $200 never mind something that I had no idea what it was or what was needed.
I now have their debt collectors contacting me, I was emailing their organisation to try and sort out the scam and for them to realise I did not want this but then one of my emails went to their junk so I contacted their customer service email and still no reply nearly 2 months later, I thought that they realised that I was duped into this and I did not sign up to this but no, receiving messages from their debt collectors again today. If someone knows what they need and what they are getting into then Macpatchers I am sure can do the job, but to me they are *** artists
They are *** scammers
They scammed me for $1600 bucks for providing me technical support for my windows computer . they sold me securities which never worked on my computer and later on they hacked my computer my credit card my bank accounts and stole my money specially that person name Mark Robinson he is a *** *** scammer and this type of service is not *** acceptable from an IT firm ..
if you will face me someday in new south wales new castle . Mark i will beat your *** up and gonna *** out of it .you *** scammer *** the wrost service i ever got from an IT firm
Computer Problems
Macpatchers supposedly installed security on my computer but I had to reinstall my old AVG (paid) program. I rang a number in Toronto NSW after a promised call to fix my email hadn't eventuated.
Not suggesting any connection with Macpatchers security but my spam mail receipts have gone from a few per week to about 50 a day despite my attempts to block senders. Not really happy and I paid plenty. Then they rang last week wanting me to put a Banking Security Block on my computer, for an additional arm and leg for 3, 5 or 10 years.
I am concerned for their sincerity. I am wondering has anyone else struck this problem or am I being over-anxious.
Preferred solution: Full refund
Macpatchers - Technical Support Review
I purchased a Samaung S7 on 5th February from Optus store Nowra. 5 daya due to too many attempts to log on.
I called in at Shellharbour Optus to see if it could be fixed. The young girl apparently tried reprogramme it and I was told to wati 24 hrs. No luck. Eent back to Nowra where I rang google and told to Matchpackers.
I was told that I had to pay $180 to activate my account. I objected but was told pay the money or account not opened but they reduced it to $120. At 73 years old I didnt understand so I paid the $120. Phone still did not work and had to be sent away and it is STILL there.
I was informed that I did not need to pay the money.
I rang Mackpatch a few times but was told no. I cannt afford to pay out money for something I didnt need.
$s to fix email
My ISP is telstra so I got onto telstra 24/7 chat to fix my email. As my email is yahoo.com.au, they gave me 1800 95* 231 as the yahoo help phone number.
I got a quick answer by Mark Robinson; can he take over my computer; ok. Macpatchers Pty Ltd box eventually comes up. He shows me error messages on my pc and says some jargon about network problems and that I need to buy a CISCO program for $199. Wow, sounds like a scam to me and what is he doing while controlling my computer?
I disconnect both computer and phone. Later fixed my email settings using yahoo on line help in Microsoft Outlook and all now working ok.
Preferred solution: jail the person claiming to be Mark Robinson of Macpatchers Pty Ltd

Macpatchers - Technical Support Review from Newtown, Queensland
My computer was hacked and it freaked me out!!! I have antivirus, spyware, malaware etc installed but they got my IP anyway and were using my identity.
I phoned gmail support (Macpatchers) and even though it took quite a while for them to clean up my laptop and re-secure my email I was so relieved that they were on the other end of the phone. The internet is plagued with smarter cyber criminals every day - thank goodness for Macpatchers.
