Many years ago, I started building websites using Tripod.
I had published several websites with names such as Ginny's Recipes, Rainbow Bridge Pet Loss Support, Pets-n-Places, among many others. Several years now have been done through Lycos. So for many years (over 15 or 20 years), I have been paying Tripod, then Lycos, a monthly fee for access to the web builder. I also paid for domain names and redirection to my custom names on Lycos/Tripod using GoDaddy services.
Most of the sites were old and not often referenced, but I do update and add to them from time to time. With my last sign-on a couple of weeks back, the system gave me server and 404 site not found errors. I thought it was a temporary outage. I tried again a day later and still got server errors.
A Google search reveals that Lycos/Tripod discontinued all Tripod services and sites and removed all sites and any possible sign-on access to customer service or the sites. They did provide a way to open a ticket, and they confirm receipt, but then the ticket goes to 'processing' status and stays that way forever. Emails to support go unanswered. I lost all my websites and data with no advance notice or means to save anything.
To add insult to injury, I discovered they are still charging my credit card the monthly fee. No idea how long the sites have been gone and no idea how many fraudulent monthly charges have processed.
I cannot get a response from Lycos/Tripod as to how long ago the sites were removed. I do plan to 'contest' the charges through the credit card company.

Good morning
I was banned from the lycos italia chat without explanation, with a twenty-year nick cancellation; officer marco_90 (or something like that) kicked me out while i was in /via. I would like to know the motivation and above all to point out that the officials continually abuse their powers, banning and deleting nicks created 20 years ago, without explaining the reason. We are tired of fighting with officials who don't give any explanation before banning.
