Terrible Certified Car
Terrible experience with this dealership. The one thing I regret in my life is buying a car from them.
I bought a certified car from them a little over a month ago, and it has been with them, since I bought it, more than It has been with me. It started with an issue with the brakes making noises. It took me 8 visits before they finally fixed the brakes.
After running a full inspection on the car, I found out that they did not do a brake fluid exchange or a transmission service even though the car was supposed to be due for these before I purchased it. In addition, they gave me the cheapest brand of tires which makes the ride terrible after driving for long time.

Incompetance in Express
Even though I have a Corolla, I'm quite familiar with Lute Riley, as I've owned several Hondas in the past (and my wife has one now). So when my tire pressure light came on, I pulled into Lute Riley to have them check it. I was about 45 days from state inspection deadline too, so I asked them to do a state inspection as well. 20 minutes later, they called my name and said it was ready. I asked if the tire was okay, and the girl at the counter said nothing was written up so it must have been okay - maybe it was just the rain. The *** light was off when I left, so they at least filled it up.
Two hours later, dressed in a tuxedo to go downtown, I find my back left tire completely flat. Grumbling, I turned on my compressor and filled it up. As soon as it was to pressure, I could hear the Hssssssst sound, and knew that it wouldn't last. Even if I made it downtown, it would be flat when the event was over. The nail was easily found simply by sound.
Without enough room to jack the car up in the garage, and without enough time to make other arrangements, I pulled it out onto the driveway and proceeded to put on the spare in the rain. Cussing at Lute Riley the whole time. That cussing continues to this day, a month later.
At least they did the state inspection okay.
2013 Honda Accord Review
Bought 2013 Honda Accord in 2013 brand new.
After I drove it for two and have years, starter went out. The car has little more than 50000 . I went to Honda dealership and nobody seems to help. I am very disappointed .

Overpriced parts, rude staff!
I was here for maybe three times in within a month, buying parts for my hondas. I remember when the first time they made buy 3 quarters or differential fluid when it only takes 1.1 for my wife's suv.
But since yesterday I am advising to people to make their own research when buying parts from them. I had the disgusting experience dealing with Roy Arcilla. I asked him for a part number that they did not have in stock and he refused to gave me any information. So I decided to preorder it from them and paid $325.00 for a 02 sensor. I went to my car and decided to check and compare the price paid a minute ago calling a local autopart place but to know also if they had it in stock, and yes, they had it in stock and for less than a quarter of the price!! $33.00 same brand (Denso), same specs and a year of warranty no questions!. I felt like a dumb, for paying in advance an overpriced item offered in 24 hours but also for accepting the rude and prepotent attitude of this salesman!. I went 5 minutes later to cancel my prepaid order and this guy Roy said "We can't cancel. Come back tomorrow if you want your money". Since a couple of years I am understanding people that just hate their job so I decided to not argue with this person so I emailed the parts manager explaining the reason of my cancelation and he replied:
"Thanks for contacting us.
I apologize for my staff upsetting you.
When you had our cashier run your card, and then signed the credit card slip, that was the Authorization for the transaction. It was completed at that time. There is not a way to de-authorize a transaction, but we will refund your credit card. We will need the number and the expiration date to do so. We do not keep the entire number in our system, for security reasons.
"I would like to clarify something in relation to this situation. I have instructed my people to not give out part numbers. It is a rule they must follow. I understand that this is sometimes upsetting to people. After talking to Roy, it seems like you originally wanted just the part number. I have used this situation as a learning experience for my staff". We will handle these types of things differently in the future.
So again, I'm sorry that we did not live up to your expectations. We are making changes to improve and to keep this from happening to someone else. If you want to call me with your credit card number, I can handle the refund myself. If you want to come by, we can handle it that way also. Whatever is easier for you.

Now I write: I don't care for paying overpriced items, I paid for them in the past and I will pay for them in the future. I am just advising everybody to make your homework, 33 bucks vs 325? Plus Roy's attitude warning me with a 20% restoking fee for a part that was out of stock, also 20 days for return, only if the part is unused and only if original receipt is presented? I understand that this is a businesses and I don't want nothing for free but at least train your people to cover this scam against your costumers in a better way. All the good reviews here are from people buying cars, (because the brand is good) but good luck in the moment when you are out of warranty and you need to deal with Steven and Roy from parts department of Lute Riley at North Central expressway... None of the Charlie Company vehicles will be here again.

Beware big time
I have big time been through *** with this dealership big time and no one seems to care. They blame the customer and lie all the way.
Check all your paperwork big time folks and pull the Car Fax to see if they are lying. I have learned the hard way. Even a car with less than two thousand miles could have been in a wreck and such not disclosed since not yet on the car fax. They can easily fix a car and sell it and cover all of this up.
I am not saying this is always the case, however, I feel it is really suspicious that I traded in a 2014 car with hardly any miles that was hit and was only given 22000 when it was financed for close to 29 thousand. I was told it would only sell for 24000 which was a lie.
They sold the car I later found out for close to what I paid for the car. I hope you can see the picture and why I you should be careful and suspicious for sure.
Thief
I hadmy car broke down near this dealership and I had no choice to take it anywhere. first they over charged and on the top of that they stole things including one credit card from car.
when I called they don't care. also when I purchased my vehicle they offered warranty but I could cancel. they fold me they will refund 100% but did not do that. I was short 125 $.
beware of the place. thieves and leaches.
I wish I had gone somewhere else to shop for a car. I would never recommend this to anyone I know.
Lute Riley Honda
NEVER, EVER, EVER EVER GO HERE!!!!!! So We called and made a so called VIP appointment to see a car we liked online.
We even called again to confirm that the car was in good working condition, and was available. The lady on the phone said yes, it is here and ready for you. There are NO major issues with the car. My husband took off work, and we drove 45 min to go and see the car.
After we sat and waited for our VIP appointment for 20 minutes, the salesman comes out and says "oh I'm sorry the car has been in the shop for 2 days because it overheated" Really? After speaking with Chris the manager he could care less, and ignored us when we voiced our frustration. We left. We then called Chris the manager and asked for the GM's number to let him know what had happened and he gave us a non-working number!
Once we finally got the right number we left a voicemail for the GM Dan Weiss I believe, to return our call, and he never called us!!!! They were all empathetic, unfriendly, and could care less! My husband and I our in shock at how people, or a company could treat their potential customers. I hope that this post can save some of you the time off work, frustration, and agony of dealing with rude, salespeople!
This gives all care salesman a bad name! It doesn't have to be like this.
Just be honest with us! PLEASE
Incompetent or Malicious?
Complaint sent to dealer, never got a call!
1) Salesman didn't know where the cars were located. We wasted time driving to 4 or 5 lots to find the 2010 cross tours. Shouldn't you know where your inventory is?
2) You never showed me the numbers. All I kept getting was a handwritten note with a payment on it. I kept asking over and over to see the numbers. Since I had just negotiated almost the same deal at another honda dealer, I knew the numbers were off, and that I was due cash back from the trade. Finally, they said they made a mistake and had FORGOT the car had a red tag on it for $5000 less. Either you are completely incompetent or you were trying to rip me off. BUT you still wouldn't show me the numbers till I got into finance. I've never seen this scam before.
3) Trade in. I kept asking what I was getting for my trade, over and over. Finally they told me. Was that so hard?
4) Lease period. I kept asking to see the payment on a two year lease and never received it, you kept saying it was not available, though I know it was, I just did it at another dealer that day. p.s. I did not buy at the the other dealer, because all they had were 2011 models and I wanted to see if I could get a better deal on a 2010.
5) Time. In all I spent seven hours at the dealer. Really?
6) XM satellite. I never received any information about the XM satellite. I had to go on line to figure out all I have is a 90 day test period with them.
Added this today: I received a notice from my insurance company that Honda requires wants your auto insurance liability increased to 100/300/50. The increase in premium would be $55 per 6 months. This should have been told to me at closing.
Bait and Switch at its worst!
I suggested this company to people for the last two years after finding my dream car there one day and having what I thought was a great experience.
It might be good until you actually try to redeem anything they sell you!!
I'm currently going through h-e-double hockeysticks right now because they sold me their "Platinum Care Warranty" when I bought my car 2 years ago and now that I go to actually use it.... 'Oh, we don't service that anymore, call this company you've never heard of to try and redeem it.' So I do.. oh, what? The warranty doesn't do any of the things they told me it did?? Well, I'm sure this is all just a misunderstanding.
Call Honda again... oh? You're not going to do anything you told me? You won't fix the tiny scratches on my bumper?? Oh, and you won't give me a refund on the $2,000.00 policy I purchased that I now can't use? AND you're going to hang up on me?? Wow!! GREAT!!
I absolutely despise these people now. They are bait-and-switchers and will talk a nice game just until you actually need something done. They did the same thing with the tire warranty I purchased which already had me angry.
I'm going through every avenue I know of to try and get my money back, but it's not looking good right now. Save yourself the trouble and avoid them!! I'll never buy a Honda again, that's for sure.
CHEATS! LIARS! RIP-OFFS!
Car Scams
I bought a car from Lute Riley Honda on 3/10/10 and paid cash for it. It was a used car.
I paid $3200 for it. When I took delivery of the car the odometer wasn't working. I called them the next day and they offered to fix it if I brought in immediately. I took it in and they repaired it.
I picked up the car on 3/12/10. On 3/13/10 the transmission started failing. I took it to transmission shop on 3/15/10 because it was the weekend I wouldn't be able to get anyone to look at the transmission until Monday. I took the car to Eagle Transmission and they told me there is an internal problem with the transmission.
I called Lute Riley Honda to inform them that the tranmission was messing up he informed me that I bought the car "AS IS" and there was nothing he could do about it. I asked to return the car and he said it was too late to return it. I understand that it is a "AS IS" purchase but the transmission is failing within 3 days of having the car.
They scam people.
Lute Riley Honda is practicing the old bait and switch.
The car prices that they list online are not accurate because when you go to the dealership, they "added-on" these features. No car is without these add-ons. Just add $2500 to the online price to get the actual car price.
Also, they will not honor online quotes because of the add-ons, even if you have it in writing.
These add-ons should only cost a couple hundred dollars. For example, wheel locks that Honda sells for $65 (when you can find aftermarket for $25) in Lute Riley will cost you $295. Same factor you can apply to everything else they sell.
So, since the price quoted did not include these add-ons, they add on a couple more thousand dollars. I asked for a car without the add-ons as listed online, but they said all of the cars have these add-ons. When we asked why these features weren't listed online with the actual price, we got no reply.
Even when we talked with the manager about his illegal practices, he didn't seem to get it. He wasn't too bright. It's a shady place, and we did report them to the Federal Trade Commission.
Lute Riley Honda's Internet Sales Manager admitted that they just want to get you into the dealership. In other words, you will never get the price they quoted you.
Don't waste your time here.
Lute Riley Service Issues
I bought a car with Lute Riley Honda in 1996. I have been using them for service.
Generally they are good. The prices are very steep for service. Lately I have been having issues with their services. After my last service, there has been green fluid leaking and in some instances there has been engine oil found on the floor.
I get the feeling that they are cutting corners on the service.
I don't think they should be doing that at the price being charged. Also on services, there are always more stuff added and each service leads to around $400 bill.
Car not ready
went in to buy car cash. the sales man told me a car for what we were looking for.
payed it and price went higher cause they needed a part for it. then it was not ready on the day we bought it. it took three days. we told them we did not want the car , but they refused, we hired a lawyer, but nothing.
we just had to go get it and sell it. do not go to luke riley honda in plano. bad rude people. they do not do buiness right.
do not go into used part.
no!
Bait and Switch. Lied to get me through the door.
I would never set foot into Lute Riley Honda ever again. I put in an Internet request for a car and they offered me a great price.
I asked them three times if that was the deal that I was getting and nothing was gonna change. They assured me that my happiness was their top priority. I arrived at the dealership and from then on they thought because I am a woman that I am ***. They tried to add another $3000 for extra equipment and said that it was just miscommunication.
The salesman made several passes at me which already made me feel uncomfortable. I then complained to the manager who didn't offer any resolution whatsoever. I then left the dealership and went over to Rusty Wallis and got the deal that I wanted.
Buyer beware!!!!
