Sending product not ordered charging credit card without authorization

Luminess Air sends make up that was never ordered and charging credit card without authorization. Now they charge credit card monthly and no product is received. Called them several times to stop automatic orders but they continue to send. My next stop is the Better Business Bureau and our State Consumer Fraud Agency.

I order online after see special promotion on TV for 19.99. But I see at before the check out page that I will be charged 3 more 59.99 payment in following month.

I call up the order line 188952****, the rep could not even tell me how much they charge for returning the product if you do not like it. I cancel my order before check out because this company does not present like a trustable and upfront about it business and they product are not cheap.

I was about to purchase the alleged $19.99 package

I watched the Luminess Air advertisement on TV, and there was no mention about the $19.99 being "a down payment" nor was there any mention of "having to pay to lease the makeup applicator" or "having to pay monthly for the makeup."

The Luminess Air advertisement on TV states that "the $19.99 is for the makeup applicator, the makeup, and the bonus lip, eyeshadow, blush, and mascara." The advertisement on TV also states "There is a 30 day money back guarantee."

It now seems all of these statements by Luminess Air are lies specifically designed to intentionally defraud consumers.

I'm so glad I very briefly searched online and quickly found "Pissed Consumer" and all the complaints by consumers who reportedly were knowingly and willfully defrauded by Luminess Air regardless of the statements made during the Luminess Air advertisement.

For those who are fighting to get the monies stolen from them returned by their credit card companies, I would suggest using your phone to make a copy of the Luminess Air TV advertisement. This will likely be too much data to upload to your credit card company online, so you can choose to transcribe (type) each word from the Luminess Air TV ad.

Let your credit card company know you have a copy of the Luminess Air TV advertisement, then send a copy of the transcript of the Luminess Air TV advertisement to your credit card company.

It's also important that you adamantly state, and report in writing, that you did not authorize any additional charges to your credit card beyond "the $19.99 for the makeup applicator, the makeup, and the bonus lip, eyeshadow, blush, and mascara."

Then, as Pissed Consumer advised, make sure you shut the credit card that Luminess Air will, or has already, use(d) to place any additional charges that were never disclosed to you and never authorized by you. You should be reissued a credit card with a different number.

It's okay to specifically request this from your credit card company.

Make sure you dispute any unauthorized charges asap and within 60 days of the unauthorized charge posting or within 60 days of the statement date that the unauthorized charge posted, depending on what your credit card company requires from you in its Consumer Terms and Agreements.

If you've already placed an order with Luminess Air, it would be best to call your credit card company and shut the card down so no unauthorized charges can be placed to your credit card. It's all right to report that you later learned that hundreds of other consumers have been defrauded through the use of the Luminess Air TV advertisement, and you don't want to be one of those people.

I had to call my credit card company once to report that once a different company had my credit card number, the phone representative told me I couldn't decide I didn't want to place the order, even after I told the scam company phone representative that if they placed any charge to my credit card, it would be without my authorization and it would therefore be fraud.

If what you purchased for $19.99 isn't provided or to your satisfaction, you can also dispute the $19.99 charge on the basis that Luminess Air failed to honor "the 30 day Money Back Guarantee" reported in its TV advertisement.

I'm so glad I found Pissed Consumer right underneath "Luminess Air." I did not call or place an order because I didn't want to be defrauded and have a hassle getting me money back plus needing to shut down my credit card and obtain a replacement credit card.

I did want to offer some help to other consumers because many people reported they had been defrauded out of over $100, and that is just too much money to lose when there are credit card terms and agreements which, if you follow them in a timely manner, should protect you and result in the return of the monies which were stolen from you without your authorization and, as demonstrated by the Luminess TV ad, based on conditions which were never disclosed to the consumer.

I wish I had read your review of how badly this company is and how they treat their customers.I have just recently received my order from them, and have been trying to call them for a full refund because their make-up is so terrible and the air brush is all made of plastic.I was told by the add on TV at Christmas time that it was $19.99. I thought that was for the whole system.

I ended up having to spend over $200.00 which had me wondering how much was it when it was not on sale.I wish I was as smart as you by checking their site for any comments about their product. I just thought that if they were in business for so long then their product must be great.I am so shocked to find out `how wrong I was, but more importantly what a terrible and immoral company they are, and how are they still in business with a make-up that a 2 year old could make by running some water from a faucet in the sink into their mothers small bottle they found in the house. You can buy a supreme make-up like CoverGirl + Olay Simply Ageless for way under $19.99 and it will last you at least a month and your face will have much better coverage than Luminess states that their make-up covers. Their make-up does not get rid of the dark circle under your eyes no matter how many time you spray on their make-up.

It does not get rid of your wrinkles or any of your age spots or acne. Please do not call their number or respond to any of their offers. They do not care about you, and they are NOT telling you the truth about anything.

They lie about everything and even make it hard to get out of their web of lies.Please do not believe THEM. Kaya

I received and paid for product be safe first I called absent called since returned and told the agent I don't wear makeup that often and I just want to order when I need to I have been seriously ill for the last 6 months I have not received any product but have been charged $43.95 on my debit card as of 11/20 he would like to see that money back in my account

my payment was late I've been received an email from luminess stating that to keep my account good standing I was I could to make a minimum payment of $20 instead of the payment that was due I opted to do that so I checked the $20 box and I updated my payment info and made the $20 payment. They took $65 from my account. When I called them the lady said well at least your paid off and hung up on me. Isn't that stealing, not to mention fraud.

Terrible customer service

When I received Luminess air I took out of the box to watch all the videos put it together and nothing. It didn't work.

The machine wasn't blowing air. I tried changing outlets and everything, so I email customer service and said they would send me a replacement. When I got that about a week later the only thing they sent was the tube and styles. How is that going to make the machine blow air?

I emailed them back and told them they sent me the wrong part. A week later I haven't received email or the replacement, so I emailed again. Another week goes by and still nothing. No email no response of any kind.

Then I get on the website and go to chat now. I tell the customer service guy Juan what was going on, and he said that he needed to call to better assist me. This was about 3pm. So we set a time for 5pm.

He never called emailed anything. I still haven't heard from him, and it's been about 3 days. It's been almost a month since I first got my Luminess air and I can't get anybody to help me or even respond to me.

This is really bad for their business CUZ I'm pist. Someone in that company better make it right.

2 broken luminess machines

I have bought 2 luminess machines. The first one would not spray after a month Now the other luminess ledgend wont spray and the nozzle is broke I need a refund or a new one they are not cheap I dont understand what is making this happen

This is the third or fourth stylus I have purchases and the same thing happens every time - after about 60 to 90 days the stylus does not work well. I clean it out EVERY single time i use it and then whrn it fails I try to take it apart and do a deep cleaning. It never goes back together and I am stuck on Saturday or Sunday and no way to apply makeup for Monday and work.
