  • Paid over $35k for services.
  • SOD, seams; cement scales after 9 months; arborvitae too close.
  • Fence/paver work by others; Bob Lucas arrogant.

Paid over $35,000 on there services. To me each job we had done had issues. The SOD was laid down terribly.

The seems were bad. The cement that he contracts out sucks. At 9 months the cement is scaling bad. Forget the fence person omg 3 ring circus.

The tech Arborvitaes were placed way too close together & some not in correct area. Not happy with them.

Paver work is done by someone else. Bob Lucas is very arrogant sales person.

User's recommendation: Do your homework don’t go with less expensive

He is a liar and a crook, big time!

AI Highlights
  • Don’t sign until you read it and verify what’s on the invoice.
  • Bought three flats of slate; only two were used, and promises weren't on the invoice.

Make real sure not to sign any paper until you have read it and see what in NOT listed on the invoice. I bought.

three flats of slate stone. I asked what would happen if I only used two and he said I'd have been lucky and would be refunded. I also told him that I didn't want any broken stones used, his response, no problem. Long story short, lots of broken slabs were used and only two flats were needed.

I called him and told him what happened and he couldn't have cared less. I took him to court and lost because none of what he told me was on the invoice, just that they built a nine inch wall.

The judge said he believed me but had to go by what was on the invoice. Bob Luca is a real low life piece of work!

Poor customer service? How about NO customer service

AI Highlights
  • Hired Lucas Nursery to remove 3 evergreens and plant 15 arborvitae with a 1-year warranty.
  • By spring, all 15 shrubs died; there was no response.
Lucas Nursery And Landscaping - Poor customer service? How about NO customer service

Last August we hired Lucas Nursery and Landscaping to remove 3 evergreens from our backyard and replace them with new plantings. A design plan was drawn up and the work took place within a few days.

The replacement consisted of planting 15 large arborvitae which Bob Lucas said were premium stock from his company. In September, we called Lucas Nursery and told them 12 shrubs were obviously dying. Bob was not available to speak with us but the woman from the Nursery said we were probably over-watering them. In October, the shrubs were looking worse so we called Lucas Nursery again and spoke to Bob, asking him to come look at the shrubs. He refused to come out, saying we were probably not watering them enough. His told us to just call him in the Spring because the shrubs had a one-year replacement warranty. Although we would be required to pay for labor to plant new shrubs.

Spring came and now all 15 shrubs are dead (see photo). We called Lucas Nursery again, but had to leave a message because no one answered the phone. We explained the situation and asked to have Bob return our call. Not surprisingly, we've received no response. We spent $10,000 on this landscaping project of which the most prominent feature is 15 large dead trees. When our friends and neighbors ask what's with the orange shrubs, we explain what happened and make a point to tell them never to do business with Lucas Nursery and Landscaping.
