Horrible thieves and fraudsters
My friend contacted me in a frenzie. Friday directly after depositing both his and his wife's paychecks this firm cleared his account out.
Not only is it from a debt at least 5 years + old he has no clue what it is, they did it after hours, and they have no way to survive for at least 2 weeks.
Why on earth a firm would do this, except to make a buck at the expense of the poor, is befuddling. Judging by other reviewers and "customers," they employ less than educated plebs to man the phones while the attorney(s) themselves prey on those unfortunate enough to be played by the attorney(s) employers.
Preferred solution: Full refund
Customer Service is Horrible!
After my medical account was unbeknownst to me sold to P. Scott Lowery, I proceeded to call and inquire about my account with them.
First attempt, I was hung up on after they could not tell me why my account was transferred. Second attempt, I asked the guy why my account was transferred without my notification. He told me I needed to call a different state's office and couldn't answer me when I asked who's phone number he was giving me to call in Tulsa. I had asked him 3 times why I needed to call this Tulsa, OK.
number he had given me. After the third time he said "If you do not want to call, then do not call." THEN HUNG UP ON ME. This company or whatever you want to refer to it as, it major BS. They are uneducated people hired off the streets of Greenwood Village, CO to call and harass people about subjects they have no knowledge about.
I am now paying my debt directly to the company it is owed to. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

The law offices of P. Scott Lowery first notified me on Friday, December 3rd. I talked to Ms. Smith, who for the most part was polite, until she thought I was talking too much and interrupted me asking if she could talk. She also got upset when I told her I did not know if I could come up with $1000 by Monday, but that I would ask my family. Ms. Smith also told me that I did not want the debt I should have shown more effort to avoid it. I told her she had no right to talk to me like that, that this was a debt I have been paying on for six years and any time I have had the money I have put some down to help pay off the debt.
The real issue arose on Monday. December 6th, when I called Ms. Smith back to inform her that I was not able to borrow any money, and that I was looking at my options of debt consolidation or bankruptcy. I am a hard ship case, I do not work and am in school. I literally have NO money. Ms. Smith told me that she wanted to talk to me about debt consolidation and put me on hold.
A Mr. Stanistoski, I do know if that is spelled correctly, but a manager with the firm, got on the phone yelling at me and said, " Ma'am do I understand that you refuse to pay your debt?". I asked him where Ms. Smith had gone, and he replied with he asked me a question. Mr. Stanistoski continued to yell at me telling me that "he was going to tell the laywers to file suit and that I thought it was funny and that I refused to pay." He continued yelling at me, and I must be honest, I yelled back, for around 30 seconds. The last statement I heard him say before I hung up on him was his yelling in my ear, " I will not be talked over! Do you understand me!?" I said a profanity relative to heck with this, and hung up.
I then called back, and informed Ms. Smith that I was recording the call. This time when I asked about debt consolidation she told me that it was completely my prerogative to choose to do so. When asked why Mr. Stanistoski got on the phone yelling at me she replied with, " I was right there, he never raised his voice, he had to pull the phone away because you were screeching at him." Funny, my friend across the room could hear him yelling at me. When I informed her of this she again told me that, "I had not shown effort to pay off the debt and not to call back until I had money." She then hung up on me.
I am not proud of the fact that I am in debt, with $0 income and no financial help, I do what I can to try to improve it and make payments. I have dealt with other collection agencies and have never been treated this way.

Mr. Tommy House
P.
Scott Lowery, P.C.
5680 Greenwood Plaza Blvd. Suite 500 Greenwood Village, Colorado 80111 Dear Mr. House: This letter is sent in response to the above account. I have been honest with you from the beginning and kept my word to the letter.
You had reduced my bill from $639.20 to $447.98. You have defaulted on that agreement. I asked you to play back our recorded conversation which would proof the above statement to be true and you were reluctant to do so. The reason your company records our conversations is especially for this type of situation where I am requesting to hear the conversation we had.
Your reluctance to do so and my research show that this seems to be a common practice of P. Scott Lowery, P.C. to state a lower workable figure and then after payments have been made you go back to the original balance. It makes me wonder how many other people you have done this too.
As a matter of fact, I have found other complaints with the same theme. My trust is no longer there regarding whatever you say. I had asked you to send me a letter so I know whom I was dealing with. That letter took a month and one day for me to receive it.
I am requesting that you provide validation of this debt. I want the last three months credit card statements from your client. I would request a copy of the recorded conversation but unless I can take it to an analysis to make sure it was not altered it would be of no value. I have paid $150.00 already on this account.
I did this in good faith. You had given me a starting balance of $447.98 and you letter states the balance as $639.50. We both know that the $447.98 balance is true. I will continue to make payments no longer of $50.00 per month but of $15.00 a month by check on the 20th of each month.
This will start once I receive the information I requested. If I get the information before the Jan 20th payment will be made. If not I will not send in any payment until I receive the all documents I requested and receive the proof of debt. If you do not comply with this request, I will immediately file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the Pennsylvania & Colorado Attorney General’s office.
Civil and criminal claims will be pursued. I am putting them on alert as to the manner of the way you do business. I need a corrected letter showing the payments I have already made with the correct balance of $297.98 after the $150.00 has been deducted. You are NOT to contact me by phone or e-mail.
All communicates MUST be done by mail. Sincerely,
They are rude, tell you to call the collector working with you and then just hang up. They then threaten you and give you settlements and then change it in a minute.
They note that you refuse to pay even when you say you are not refusing to pay.
Goodness gracious, do they want their money or what? I am willing to pay what I already cant afford to pay obviously, but they still wont take it..
This group is unwilling to work with people who are trying to pay their obligations in a very bad economy. When you tell them that you are unable to work within THEIR parameters, but wish to pay, they get very upset and their tone of voice changes greatly.
Most PROFESSIONAL law firms will work with you as long as they ultimately get paid.
