User's recommendation: Lovelace don’t care about the elderly. And I feel taking advantage of the fact that we can speak up. Or lack of money to be heard.

Cannot get appointment, provider sent referral a month ago. I get left on hold, when calling. My chart is useless to book an appointment with a new provider, limits u to what you have on file.

Duplicitous Two Tier Billing

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was referred to Lovelace Hospital for an umbilical hernia found by my physician. Lovelace Medical schedules my exam and surgery, which I made the necessary $41 dollar co pay.

I filled out signed their legal paperwork. My surgery was done on 6th November, it involved a ten minute procedure, and I was out the door 45 minutes later. They did a good job repairing the hernia. In December, I receive a bill from Lovelace medical group for $94.31.

My insurance covered all the rest of the expense totaling 1,013.00. In April I get a rude letter from a CMRE collection agency, for 494.53. Lovelace billed TriCare $25,000 dollars for the ten minute hernia procedure, and I owed $494.53. I don't mind paying my share, but I resent the fact Lovelace billing never forwarded the bill to me first.

I called to complain, and one of their Billing representatives claims they sent me the bill four times and I didn't pay. I promptly paid Lovelace medical Group and CMRE, why wouldn't I pay Lovelace? I have the money, one of us is lying and It isn't me. Lovelace hospital sucks, life and money out of its patients.

I hate their duplicitous two tiered billing system, and inept medical bureaucracy.

My 10 minute surgury procedure is not worth the $25,000 they scammed out of Tricare. People, stay healthy and avoid these crooks.

They administer more pain thanthey relieve...

Poorly trained staff. Ask a direct question and instead of replying "I don't know" you'll get the first answer that pops into their head Affiliation of the Lovelace Pain Clinic is misrepresented and not clearly explained when asked.

Represented as the Lovelace Pain Clinic but in reality at the Lovelace Rehab Hospital and run by a contracted anesthesia practice who will bill separately than the pain clinic without prior warning or explanation. The patient exists for their convenience instead of the other way around. Management is more adept at passing the buck than addressing problems.

The Lovelace Pain Clinic administers more pain than it relieves. Seek treatment at another provider and spare yourself this nightmare

10/8/2016

The Rep would only work with Director of Case Management. AFter adjustment of SCS unit, rep would only speak with insurance rep.

I have now filed complaints with Boston Scientific Ethics divisions.

Still not resolved as of 10/8/2016

Updated by user Sep 18, 2016

As of 9/18/2016 NOT Resolved!

Updated by user Sep 14, 2016

Today 9/14/2016 I have sent email to my Care Coordinator through Molina that I still need the final adjustments to my SCS Unit (Spinal Cord Stimulator) AND that I cannot go to UNMH nor Lovelace as my life is in danger at both.

Lets see if my Care Coordinator can get response from Boston Scientific Rep since I cannot. This remains unresolved. I am still waiting for my permanent implant ID Card from Boston Scientific also.

9/13/2016, I am still waiting for the final adjustments to the spinal cord Stimulator. I do not feel safe at Lovelace systems now NOR at UNMH but those are the only two places offered for the final adjustments of the spinal cord stimulator implant ... this remains unresolved.

Updated by user Sep 02, 2016

9-1-2016 the spinal cord stimulator to control chronic pain is finally implanted and done by a very fine doctor at Christus St Vincent in Santa Fe NM. This in no way excuses or justifies this pain clinic ignoring me from 6-23-16 to 8-18-16. This remains as unresolved complaint.

Updated by user Aug 28, 2016

I have had to file complaints with the New Mexico Medical Review Board.

I have had to file complaints with the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Original review Aug 19, 2016

I am grateful that the SCS Unit will finally be implanted, activated and programmed during surgery 8/22/2016 AFTER I have been ignored and cut out of my own healthcare by Lovelace Pain Clinic/Anesthesia Specialists, Albuquerque, NM from 6/23/2016 to 8/18/2016.

8/19/2016 - Just spoke with my new doc to do the implant. He states that I will be leaving with unit fully activated and programmed.

States ths was decided by Dr Gonzalez and Misty. Why are these people cutting me out of my own healthcare and making all decisions for me period without ever consulting me? Is that even legal? I think not.

... On 6/23/2016 I was given referral to a Dr Yonas. Since I was not told any different, I assumed that he was with Lovelace. I waited for a call that was never to come in.

When I finally found out that Dr Yonas was with UNMH, I called the pain clinic for Dr Diego Gonzales to tell them my life would be in danger at UNMH. I got a call from director Raul Marquez who promised call back next day from himself and my doctor = those calls never came in! I was ignored from 6/23/2016 to 8/18/2016. This Pain Clinic wont have anything to do with me from 6-23-2016 to 8/18/2016 ...

but now they call to tell me I have an appointment for spinal block. I told them I do not know of any appointment. THEN and ONLY then do they tell me that this spinal block was rejected by insurance ... but they call me (8/18/2016)to come in 8-19-2016.

This Doctor and Pain Clinic wont have anything to do with me from 6/23/2016 to 8/18/2016. But now that I have filed complaints with the Medical Review Board and the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Now all of a sudden this clinic wants to work with me! Huh?

I also received letter from Lovelace Risk Management 9/13/2016 stating 'It is feedback such as yours that allows us the opportunity to ensure that appropriate improvements are made made throughout our organization', this is of no help at all, This remains Unresolved.

NO ONE should ever have to file complaints with the medical review board to finally get the proper help and medical assistance. No one should ever be cut out of their own healthcare.

Today 8/18/2016 I got a call from the Pain Clinic to come in on 8/19/2016 for a spinal block. When I told them I do not know of any appointment and asking further information THEN they tell me, "Your Insurance rejected/declined the injection." ...

but I am supposed to come in!!!!

This pain clinic wont have anything to do with me from 6/23/2016 to 9/18/2016. What is going on?!

I tell them my life is in danger at UNMH then the pain clinic cuts off contact until I start filing reviews and filing complaints with Medical Review Board and Board of Anesthesiologists....

Original review Aug 17, 2016

DO NOT Believe that they do Spinal Stimulators as they advertise on web site ... it is referred out for implant then never done!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seems it is only claims to put into insurance, then when it is time to do it, it never happens! I have received a total run around on this spinal cord stimulator since 6/23/2016. So since I do not at all believe that Christus St Vincent is going to do this implant and will further run me around. I have finally just given in to the fact that my life is in danger at UNMH and called Dr Yonas Office to see if possible to set up per referral on hand.

I am told that they need Lovelace to fax over the referral to them (Attached) along with clinic notes and all else including current medication list (ONLY Ropinerol at this time as I discontinued all other meds period). They need this faxed to them at 505-925-****, this is further proof that this spinal cord stimulator has been a total lie by Lovelace, UNMH and Molina as they have a so called approval on file. BUT! NO one sent information to Dr Yonas at UNMH or Referral from 6/23/2016 to present date!

THERE IS NO INTENTION OF ASSISTANCE!!!!!!! NO ONE INTENDS TO DO THIS SPINAL CORD STIMULATOR IMPLANT AND i am fully convinced ALL INTEND ONLY THESE FOLLOWING THINGS: 1) TO AVOID DOING THE SPINAL CORD STIMULATOR IMPLANT LAST MINUTE UNTIL MOLINA IS NO LONGER MY INSURANCE AND CAN SAY "SORRY, CONTACT YOUR NEW INSURANCE!" 2) TO CONSTANTLY AVOID THIS IN ATTEMPT TO DRIVE ME TO SUICIDE WITH THE CHRONIC 24/7 pain!

and/or 3) TO DRIVE ME INTO GOING TO STREET PUSHERS FOR HEROIN FOR PAIN CONTROL. .
