From start to finish it was truly a white glove experience. We are in love with the entry door, the 25ft slider and all the windows they manufactured and installed. 5 stars hands down

Bad Company

Love That Door - Bad Company

When I bought my home in May 2017 I had allotted some money to replace my front door. I went to Love That Door and liked their selection and the senior gentleman I was dealing with.

I ordered the door in August after two separate men from Love That Door came to measure my doorway to double check measurements, since these are special order iron doors. The door was not expected until Dec 2017. The door arrived in December and was too short. The men installing the door said they could not make it work.

The door was going to have to be re-ordered. Here is where all the problems began. The re-ordered door was promised for end of April beginning of May. I called in April 2018 and was told the owner never re-ordered the door.

The owner Chad Crenshaw called me and blamed the door not being re-ordered on him currently in a messy divorce. Really? As most know, these doors aren’t cheap and I had put half down per contract. I had to ask for a discount at this point.

He would not come the remainder of my balance but said he would take off half. My door finally arrived June 13, 2018 and was installed. They arranged to paint and replace my trim the same day. The trim does not match my trim and so they where going to have to come back to do it again.

My base boards were not caulked just painted and you could see every nail gun hole. I scheduled for them to come back and stated I would only pay half of the agreed discounted amount because the job was not finished, they agreed. The next appt, Love That Door did not show up. I called and they said the crew got stuck on a job.

Note I had to call. I was so upset at this point. Mr Crenshaw would not answer my calls or call me back. He had his office staff call me.

They kept sending me to a certain dept that was responsible for painting and no one would get back with me. I decided I would just finished my base boards and trim above the door because they were unreliable. The job was not finished so I did not pay the remaining balance. In December 2018 a couple of the threshold screws broke in half and my threshold was coming off.

I called for them to come out to fix it. At that time they asked about the balance. It’s December, I’ve never received a bill any notices nothing about the balance from June. The job was never finished and never followed up on by owner or office.

They scheduled an appt to fix the door and no one showed up. I called the next day and I was told the man that was supposed to come to my house was fired in the morning but he told them that he would still work the whole day. Once again Really? Once again I rescheduled and the door was fixed.

They then asked for the $517.80 balance and I stated it should be written off as I had 2 no show appts that I took off work for and the trim/paint was never corrected/finished. It is End of June and I received the letter in the picture today. Note the date the letter was written and the date Mr Crenshaw states he is placing a lien on my property. Now, look at the date the letter was sent.

Yes, this is how this company rolls. I’ve been patient and nice but I’m not paying for a service that was never completed and I don’t have days just lying around for this company to waste not showing up.

We've been contacted by the company and have a written detailed plan as to the steps that are being taken to resolve this situation. On paper this plan looks fantastic.

They are working very hard at making the customer happy (me) and I appreciate this and their effort. Looking forward to marking this resolved and giving Love that Door a great review.

Original review Jan 22, 2019

Walked past the showroom in Grapevine and said "I love that door" because it was beautiful. Well beauty as with people is only on the surface and didn't arrive beautiful. After speaking with Jim and he assured me these doors endure winters as we live in WI and he explained they have sold these doors all over the US and Canada and have had no problems.

The company took my deposit after 12 weeks I called to see what the status was....two days for a return call. People are busy I understand.

16 weeks door arrived on container from CHINA after calling again it will take approx 5-10 business days to inventory container and arrange shipping.

Door arrives in a broken crate with parts of the door falling out of the crate, the frame not crated was bent, split and scraped. Love that Door said, don't accept it! 16 weeks waiting for a door and our project can't proceed without the door, now I shouldn't accept it and wait another 16 weeks. After numerous phone calls and the truck driver waiting they said take it but write on the packaging slip that there was excessive damage and they would send someone to fix it and the trucking company would send an adjuster.

Guess What.......NO ONE FROM EITHER COMPANY CALLED OR SHOWED UP. We found a local company to repair the door another $2500.00 to an already expensive door but the door filled the hole so the project could continue.

WINTER IN WI......FROST AROUND THE ENTIRE INSIDE OF THE DOOR FRAME COLD AIR LEAKS FROM WINDOWS. CONSTANTLY WIPING CONDENSATION FROM THE DOORS AND FRAME HOPING IT WON'T RUIN THE NEW HARDWOOD FLOORING.

Not a single word from the company after numerous calls, even the owner pushed it off on someone else who placed all fault on us for accepting the damaged door. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.......NOT!

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

POOR PACKAGING

POOR WORKMANSHIP

POOR QUALITY

AND DID I MENTION POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

AND ITS FROM CHINA!

When we ship a door to a customer, thru a shipping company, and they damage a door. What are we suppose to do, except file a claim.

I’m very disturbed that you seem to make this our fault. You also stated you have spoken with the owner. Well I am the owner and my number is(972) 822-**** and my name is Chad. You can call me anytime, day or night, and I would be honored to help you with the claim process, and dealing with the insurance company.

But Love That Door, did not package a damaged door and ship to you, we custom build and install over 100 doors a month in the DFW Metropoltian area, we done have these kind of problems. We ARE NOT PREFECT, but we do what we say we are going to do, and we have never left a customer hanging or a job incomplete. That doesn’t happen... Call me, and let’s come to a resolution, so that you too, can LOVE your door.

That’s the dream and the vision, offer you the best made Iron door on the market, at a fair price, and honor our warranty and our word thru the process, and of you feel me or my staff did not do that, call me and let’s talk about it..

But I will not be held responsible for a shipping company’s fault, I can HELP you get it resolved, but it’s not fair to blame me for their incompetence... Thank You Chad 972-822-**** Chad@***.com

I have called and text you, hopefully we are in the process of a resolution. To be fair I do blame your company for not packaging the frame of the door, it came in bubble wrap, no crate.

They also sent a truck with one man and a pallet jack to unload the door and frame. This guy was going to let it drop off the back of the truck because he had no way of unloading it and maybe that's how the previous drivers unloaded it, who knows. Regardless the day of delivery your company was aware of the problems and damage to the door but chose to blame me the consumer for accepting a damaged door I waited 16 weeks for. Then when I called to find out what the status was after accepting the damaged door replied that it was all on the trucking company now and I needed to work it out with them.

I run a business as well and never would we assume, allow or even think of our customers having to work it out with a third party company or anyone other than ourselves, we handle issues every step of the way until they are resolved and the customer is happy. Fine file your claim but it should be your claim not mine.

Also train your salespeople to know what they are selling. After receiving this door I went back to the showroom in Grapevine to discuss the issues and asked several questions regarding the lock, weather seals, etc to which the woman gave me all the wrong answers, which in my book is misrepresentation.

OVERALL SATISFIED!!!

Love That Door - OVERALL SATISFIED!!!

I just wanted to take a few moments and leave a review on all facets of social media about my experience with Love That Door. I purchased a new double door with a transom to replace my old, outdated single door with sidelights and the "wagon wheel" look window above our door. We first contacted the showroom and they invited us to come in and peruse the showroom to explain all the different design choices, glass, handles, color options that are available to us.

After doing our due diligence and speaking w/3-other companies in the area, we decided to move forward with this company. They definitely were not the cheapest but fair to say middle area in pricing (we have always been firm believers you pay for what you get-- both inexpensive & expensive). We sat down with their on-site artist and he was great at being EXTREMELY PATIENT with us as we had so many ideas we just had to figure out what was best for our home. They were always upfront about the time table and for that we appreciated as many people have noted that it can be a lengthy process, but it when you are excited-- you are anxiously awaiting every update. We received what they note as production photos so you can see the door during fabrication and that all the more made us so excited to get our new door.

Once the door was here, we received a call from their scheduling department and were put on the schedule for installation. Since they had to do (what we thought was alot of work) alot of tearing out and removing of bricks and as a homeowner, that can be a litte "scary and overwhelming" to know if it will look like its always been there or any after thought-- which they assured us that it would never look like that and did they ever so live up to their word. After a FULL DAY of men working and our door was fully installed and boy were we beaming with excitement as all of our neighbors came over to look at what we have been talking about for months. The brick mason came out and showed us a few samples and assured us that he had it "all under control"... he indicated to us that he has been working with this family business for over 40-yrs and he did not lack an ounce of EXPERTISE!! Our brick work was beyond anything we could have ever hoped or dreamed for. After this was done, we were put on the schedule for the final touch up-- again, as a homeowner you see this "white trim" and think okay, I am anxious to see how they complete this and the gentlemen that came out went over everything with us and all our detailed concerns to make sure everything was exactly how we dreamed it to be. At the end of a full 12-hr day the painter finished everything therefore taking it into the evening and us all outside with flash lights and flood lamps trying to look over everything. It wasn't until the next morning, that we went outside and can I say SPEECHLESS, SO IN LOVE WITH MY NEW DOOR!!! When this team tells you that they want every part of your dreams to come to life, they truly mean it.

In a world filled with so much negative feedback, I felt it was imperative to share a good report with those that are reading these!!! Everyone from the sales, to the CAD ladies, billing, scheduling, the field supervisor everyone was AMAZING AND TREATED US WITH THE HIGHEST FORM OF RESPECT AND NEVER GOT ANNOYED WITH OUR HUNDREDS OF QUESTIONS/CONCERNS AND CHANGES.

Thank you Love That Door for a job WELL DONE AND I WILL CONTINUE TO SHARE MY EXTREME EXCITEMENT!!

HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE!!! LOVE OUR DOOR!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

To Whom it may concern-- We would like to post a review about our experieicne and overall process with this company. Like most people we looked for several months and did our homework on the pros/cons of iron doors, went to see jobs during installation and after. This was a big purchase for us and we wanted it to be exactly what we had dreamed, planned and saved for. When we first heard of Love That Door it was through our neighborhood recommendation site, so we did not call or make an appointment to come into the store in Frisco. We came in and immediately fell in love with the showroom and all the options and choices that they have. We were able to speak with a salesman on the floor at the time and showed him pictures of what the front of our house looked like and what we had hoped we could accomplish. We had a single door w/sidelights and wanted to make it a double door with a transom at the top to give a much bigger opening and overall updated look.

We met with a few other iron door companies in the metroplex and then started to really to do our part and research more about the differences of each company, what made their doors different and also we really wanted the option to go see doors being installed (at other houses) and also doors that have been installed for years (to see how they looked after many years) from all the companies we had gotten estimates from.

Once we decided to go with the team from Love That Door, we were provided 2-options of what the CAD artist had in mind so we could compare. The fact that the artist could completely understand what we were trying to obtain and "get into our brain" was amazing and we were THRILLED that this was coming to "life on paper". After several revisions and tweaks we finally approved our door. The process is a little long, but they do let you know that upfront so we knew from the beginning the entire process. About 6 weeks into the process we received something that they call a Production Photo which is a picture of the ACTUAL door during fabrication. We were beyond thrilled to get it and they gave us another update at that time which was so exciting.

Once the door arrived we were sent an email and followed up with a phone call about getting us scheduled for the installation. We planned on being home the day of the install (as we were beyond excited and wanted to see how this was going to be done). The door was installed in one-day and then a few days later we had the brick work done, their mason guy was nothing short of PHENOMINAL!!! After this process we were again followed up with the filed supervisor and scheduling department to get our door touched up and any issues we had to be addressed. The painter who came to our home was Felix and can I just say that this man BLEW OUR MINDS, he was a true artist and cared about every detail on the door and we could not have been any happier.

So, I just wanted to thank the entire team at Love That Door and say we are beyond thrilled and cannot believe the transformation it made to our home. We sometimes just stand outside in amazement and cannot believe they were able to do such AMAZING WORK!! I can say you made my wife the happiest lady ever, therefore making me the happiest man!!!

No communication

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Communication with this company is horrible. It was great at the beginning when we were purchasing the door but after we paid our deposit I had to initiate all the communication. I was never called when our door arrived and I had to call to schedule the install. Once the door was installed it took three weeks for someone to come out and fix the holes that were left in our walls. When the touch up guy came the first time he couldn't finish the outside touch up due to Love that Door not scheduling the brick guy to finish the brick work. Seriously? You forgot to schedule the brick guy and had three weeks to do that? When I called to voice my concerns a lady answered and said she would call me back that day to schedule the brick work. Once again I didn't receive a call and had to call back the next day to get it scheduled. They said someone would be at my house on Tuesday to finish the brick work so they could finish the touch up. We agreed that would be ok. Sunday morning I ran some errands and when I got home there was a truck in front of the house and he said he was there to do my brick work after we already agreed on Tuesday. I texted Jenny from Love that door and was frustrated again with the mix up of schedules. She told me she thought it would be a good surprise to do it earlier. I appreciate the fact she was trying but wish someone would have contacted me to make sure it was ok for them to come Sunday and not just show up.

I would not do business with this company again as I feel once they make the sale their focus is on getting another saleand not finishing their projects they already have working.

A couple of good things: The installers, brick guy and touch up guys were all very nice and did a good job.

The door looks great I just wish the process wasn't so painful

Love That Door is absolutely incredible and a first class company’! I started with Mike on my gorgeous front doors, then decided to replace all 3 back doors to my patio and lovely view of lake Ray Hubbard!

Mike started that job with me, and then when Chad (the owner) came to measure, he redesigned what I had designed with a pencil and piece of paper, to perfection. He was oh so right in his choice! Sorry for any bad experiences, but LOVE THAT DOOR, from start to finish is tops! There customer service leaves nothing to be desired, with great follow ups from every department!

I was so impressed, I drove an hour just to meet them! Since having my doors installed, two friends have gotten them, my dad has them on his estate, my little sister did doors and shutters, and I did windows, front and back, and we are all thrilled and cannot rave enough about the quality of workmanship and customer service! The whole installation crew is incredible, clean, and trustworthy! Believe you me, I should know!

Front doors were two years ago, and 3 sets of double and new windows installed, back and front! Every single thing was done just as explained from the very beginning! And I am not an easy person to work with, and I a realize that! Strong personality wanting what I want and done right!

Chad is brilliant and helpful, and has ne of the greatest success stories I have ever heard about! Can’t see how anyone could ever be disenchanted with this company!,,,

Resolved: Love that Door

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Love that door - I would definitely not recommend this company to any of my friends or neighbors. The company Representative Mike comes out and acts all nice and kind.

Takes your deposit and you never hears from him again. He passes it on to the office and communication and follow up calls and promises on dead lines are not met!!! Nor phone calls returned until it is on their term. Broken tiles, and security system was damaged by Love that Door.

After we said don't worry about the tile. Mike the father of the owner had the nerve to say there is no way they could have done that? False! Love that door wants your money, However they can try looking at spending some of that money on hiring a staff with good customer service skills.

Owners need to stay far from that type of work if they do not have the skills to speak to their clients when their is a problem.

Thanks to Mike for providing the idea of grading them on Yelp. Hence I found this site and noticed several others have also been unhappy with their work.

Iron Door

Three deliveries, three returns because of poor craftsmanship and zero quality control. the door is factory set so no room for adjustment.

the door doesn't fit right and the stationary lock doesn't work properly either. door is all chipped up and dented along the threshold. cant talk to anyone that is "allowed" to help. Jennie is the only person that can help and she is never there and doesn't answer her emails.

I have a heavy junk door that is all scratched up and doesn't keep air out and no one will help out. its like throwing money in the garbage.

buyer beware is an understatement. worst decision I have ever made.

Dallas Attorney less than a minute ago Colleyville, Texas

I have contacted Love That Door for a multiple door order and approximatly 320 feet of iron stairs. Paid a 17,000.00 deposit. I came across this review 2 weeks later. Chad said the job was already in progress. I stated I wanted my money back, because I was extremely disappointed and scared. Chad offered to refund my money. I went to the Dallas location, and collected my money. Chad gave me the spill that all this was not true and false. Even went as far, as to say, let him finish the job, and just pay him when complete. I reluctantly agreed. In the intermine, I decided to follow up on these claims. The originally post was noted as anonymous, and was also wrote in Bejing China. Red flags started raising at that point. Then I did Google searches and background checks, only to find out, that Mrs. Lynda Nelle, does not even exist.

After my investigation, my words of advise to anyone with a business or just a personal moral standing, is no longer scarred. Anyone at anytime for any reason, can write anything about you, and the world can then make their own judgement. I have taken it apart of myself to go to the courts, and get a court order to remove this. I also went ahead and paid my entire balance in full before the job was even complete. Job is done now, the only dissatisfaction I had, I had hoped that this would be a very clean job. They created tents around the doors to stop the cold air, and tempoary plastic walls to install the iron hand rail, but the dust still found its way out. Love That Door, volunteered to have the house cleaned and dusted, but it was just part of doing a job. It took a extra 3 days to get the final touch up addressed, as the roads were frozen over. If you want to send me a message, I would be happy to share my experience with Love That Door and this project with anyone. To say that I or my wife, are pleased are a under statement. I do not know Chads previous history in life, but after spending a little over 240k on a interior remodel, and dealing with several contractors and other business, I would have to say, Love That exceeded any and all my expectations. I did not type this as a favor, or a friend of the company. I typed this, because these guys deserve to authenticanted and praised....

Lynda Ashton, this will be the last time I ask or tell you this. Your customer Vickie Barcomb, has no ties with JBC remodeling or Love That Door.

You have constantly and intentionally keep saying lies, that either of these companies or the owners, have did anything to Vickie Barcomb. You NEED TO GET YOUR FACTS CORRECT, and learn that she has never done business with either of these companies. If you post anything else about either of these companies again, in any form fashion or way. I will have papers served to you.

You will not bully me, and make me accountable for someone else's actions. That will not happen.

We purchased our door and had install done.

I will say that my husband and I are very particular customers / ppl.

I loved the quality work done by the " Love That Door ."

From the first day I went into the Frisco location - Jim was my sale associate, was very professional and very educated on the product and the quality of wroth iron that love that door used. This is important due to the fact that this wasn't an impulsive purchase, we had actually been shopping around for this type of door for over 3 years. There are many companies out there and I know for certain the product they sale isn't anything like this.

There are many options, styles and CUSTOM styles I might add.

I being a small business owner know how competitors / ppl are and really have a HARD time believing any negative write ups on Chad Crenshaw or his company. As I stated earlier I am a very particular person with very HIGH STANDARDS. Chad has never avoided any phone calls neither has any of his employes. When I have called the showroom in Frisco, all my phone calls have been answered and returned EVERY time.

Jenny is the Frisco office manager and the office associate name is Monica & both very professional, helpful and detail oriented.

I have had contact with everyone, every step of the way from the time I put down my deposit- until today, ( SUNDAY ) when the guys are here finalizing everything cleaning & and touching up our gorgeous door... And the OWNER Chad came by as well.

So anyone with a problem with the ethics of this company the quality of the product etc. might want to look in the mirror and stop spreading untruths.. And any customer that opted out of purchasing a door bases on something they read might want to reconsider..

No one ask me to write a review for these guys - their custom work, quality product and work ethic speaks for itself..

That's why we LOVE THAT DOOR!! :) :)

Cool! I'll come by later this week and check out your doors.

Your salon is still on West Parker Road in Plano, right? Who should I ask for when I come by?

If there are any other victims of Chad Crenshaw and any of his companies - Love That Door or JBC Remodeling - please post here with some form of contact (email or cell). I am compiling a list of victims for the Dallas District Attorney.

I feel we can, in lawyer-speak, "prove intent" on Crenshaw and his former partner Mike Parker. This way we do not have to go to the expense of hiring attorneys.

Dear informed customer, please don't believe everything you read. You are more then welcome to come and visit one of our locations and see for yourself the type of service and quality of work we do.

It is very sad, past employees have to bad mouth a small business, when we have been NOTHING but good to them, even thru their drug addictions and thefts. Very sad.

I can personal guarantee you, you will not find better service or quality anywhere.

Chad

You can reach me at lashton42 AT gmail.com. I have been in contact with several others who have been ripped off by this company or the other (owned by the same folks), JBC Custom Remodeling.

I have not personally been a victim, but a friend of mine who has been living on disability for several years was robbed by JBC Custom Remodeling. For someone to cheat a disabled person really stinks. That's why I'm gathering information.

I can't recommend anyone in particular, but I have used Angie's List to find good tradesmen and have never been disappointed.

I can be contacted at lashton42 AT gmail.com.

I can't recommend any other company, as I rent my duplex. But Chad and Co have also done work as JBC Custom Remodeling, and I've already tracked down four victims. Other sites have also complained so this is not a competitor attempting to drum up business - if that was the case, I'd recommend someone. (obviously!)

I DO have a dog in the fight, but this is because a disabled friend of mine was ripped off in a major fashion by Chad and his JBC Custom Remodeling partner. I don't think these people should be allowed to continue to do business, unless they make good on their abandoned and substandard remodeling jobs.
