The work is a joke. I attempted to get my username and left countless emails requesting information, but received nothing.
I called their office and was on hold for almost two hours, yet no one answered. No one should be on hold for almost two hours and receive no results. What are emails for if you're not going to answer them?
These are our tax dollars at work. Another system really needs to be created because this is just terrible.
Faulty System
- Wants town hall or in-person interviews, not virtual.
- UCB applicant had a virtual interview scheduled for 1/21.
- Denied on 1/19 before the interview.
Laworks really need to have town home meetings or go back to actually having face to face interviews. Im writing on behalf of someone who is eligible for UCB, looked at the required video and scheduled a virtual interview for 1/21.
Granted this about 3 weeks after applying. Then they get a letter on 1/19 stating they are denied even before 1/21. How is a person to survive without receiving any help, no way to call (either bc no one answers or answer and hang up on you. This Agency has serious procedural problems and this new system is failing.
I know by advising of the Agency fails I will not hear from anyone but I do have Representatives, Senators and I will file a formal complaint.
If youre so worried about fraud go back to face-to-face interviews. Im sure the State of Louisiana is still paying rent on these bldgs but cant pay a person their unemployment benefits.

Worked and was not paid. I worked 4 days, 6 hours each day, 24 hours total.
I did not sign their contract to complete the semester because it reduced my pay by 90% from @$10,400.00 to only $1,000.00.
I have not received payment and the administration said that they cannot pay me because I did not sign my contract.

My state tax was garnished. This was an overpayment.
It was garnished in March and its now October. Ive spoken with several employees there. The first one told me she saw nothing on this matter. When I asked to speak to a supervisor she came back with it will be released in two weeks.
Its been a month now and no refund. The workers there have very bad attitudes.
I feel if you dont like the job you have find one that does. The service is really terrible.

Mistreatment in the work place

I think that the boss at Best Western in New Roads should be replaced with a boss that care and treat his workers better. I have worked for the company faithfully 2 1/2 years no problems now here he go hiring a new worker who did as i once did but not as good as me.
He treasts his workers horribly over work them, dont want the house keepers who to me are the heart of the place to work over time getting money they need but allow some to play on the clock come to work as they please but try to work those that work their butt off in the ground.
Nobody at the front desk half the time to attend to guest, rooms half cleaned, bed remade instead of fresh linen i know i was inspector also there. He take hours from those who need it as well as days he needs a wake up call

- I called about my weekly unemployment payment and waited two hours.
- Calls ended after asking a few questions, then hanging up.
I have called and called and called lwc concerning my weekly unemployment payment. Wait two hours on the phone.
Only to have someone come to the phone. Ask you a few questions then hang up in your face. This happened four different times. I thought maybe it was a did function in the phone call but not when it happened four times.
And I know they shouldve called back in that kind of situation.
Something is not right at all. I wish someone could advocate for us people that need to contact our local unemployment agency.
