Granite Installer hold on to our Quartz Slab

We make a Kitchen countertop installation with a Granite Installer five months ago. We left a surplus quartz slab in his workshop in order to contract him again and he would make us a kitchen island when we get more money. We call him 4 weeks ago asking for making that island. We had to call him every week for these 4 weeks and he always answered us he was busy. He never called us back to explain us anything. It seemed he did not have any interest on making the work. When we decided to look for another installer and take out our slab he answered us we had to pay him $400.00 for storage. There is not any contract or signed document to support that penalties and We never talked about storage nor its penalties.

come on'' I would charge you the same for the Storage (installer) he wait for you 5 months and then you want your work soon.. I think in your story is missing something else, lol... we have done tons of work with this company and the guy and his wife are pretty honest.
