AI Highlights
  • - Free legal help for low-income clients.
  • - Three visits; no help received.
  • - Initial visit involved a will/POA; assets were deemed too high.

LSLA provides legal help for low income and no income clients. (I guess that's called "pro-bono") I went to them THREE TIMES for help and got NOTHING.

The first time I went to them was for a Durable Power of Attorney and a Will. I met face to face with a rep. I got a letter a few weeks later telling me I have too much assets. My home (80 year old and in BAD REPAIR, 1/2 acre of land and a 20 year old car, NO INCOME but I have TOO MUCH ASSETS ???

Well, maybe it wasn't my day. But the come highly recommended so I try again with bankruptcy and help getting my SNAP card benefits restored. Yep, you guessed it, a letter stating that "We can't help everyone" but they gave me "legal advice".

In other words, you are hosed buddy! So if you need legal help in Texas and you are low or no income, avoid these folks.

Cons:
  • Not helpful in spite of me qualifying for it
