Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Pocatello
2002 Chevy Silverdo 6.0L oil burner
In April 2012 I purchased the above pick up truck at Lithia in Pocatello. The truck had only 59380 miles on it at the time.
Very clean low mileage truck I thought. I tested and purchased the truck that day . In the fallowing days I made a trip to the Boise area. The next morning I started the truck and dash warning light came on for low engine oil. So I checked the oil and there was very little showing on the dip stick I then ended up adding 1 1/2 quarts of oil at this time.
The fallowing Monday I returned the Lithia in poc to check into this abnormal usage of oil. I was asked if there were any wet spots or puddles under the truck and I said none that I know of. They told me to drive it and watch it as I did. At the point the truck had gone around 3000 miles I took it in to have it serviced and oil change.
At a a lube shop that I use. At the beginning of the service the tech came and told me the truck was a quart low before the change. This was a sick feeling Having traded in my old 1995 Silverdo that with over 175000 that only used a quart between changes when towing. I am now faced with a engine issue.
Now having gone back to Lithia more times then I can remember and no willingness to repair. They are trying to tell me this is normal and not there problem. They also offered to make a trade for 2005 Silerado that has more miles if I pay them $8000.00 more .
They have a lot of nerve GM also is bad news turning out this type of *** (www.pistonslap.com) If theirs a Solution out there I hope I can find it. Gerald

First of all took 2008 Dodge to Lithia in 2011 for a turbo clean and such as reccomended by Dodge for service. When pickup was reutrned their was a coolant leak, had to take truck back 3 times within 2 days to get resolved.
Thought was a fluke and didnt think much of that problem. THEN took 2008 Dodge pickup to Lithia Dodge of Pocatello, ID, in June 2012, for warranty work and extended warranty work. Had front differential leaking, coolant hose leaking, rear pinion seal leaking, and some other leaks....needed serviced also. Service writer called me back and said that differential leaks both front and rear were not covered by extended warranty.
Ok, I said, go ahead and repair anyway...total .bill was almost $1000.00. When got truck back, front differential was still leaking and rear had never been touched, transmission gasket was not replaced either....then I pulled out extended warranty policy and called them to see if what I was told was correct. Warranty company logs ALL phone calls from consumers and dealerships. Was told by extended warranty company that Lithia never called in the anything regarding June repairs....THEY NEVER CALLED!!!!
I returned truck and talked to service manager about this problem and differential was still leaking. They aplogized....however I was LIED to about them calling in for authorization of repairs. They aplogized and said they would look into it....I told them I wanted to be reimbursed for about 250.00 of repairs that should have been covered. They did cut me a check a week later.
HOWEVER I took the truck to another dealer for a second opinion, they told me the rear main seal was also leaking (completely missed by Lithia)!!!! Very obvious!!! Point is that that I was lied to about repairs that were never covered by extended warranty company, and that there were other repairs needed that Lithia should have told me about.
The truck went to another dealer, north of Pocatello, for repairs and was repaired successfully, and the extended warranty company kindly took care of their claim.
BEWARE!!!!! Anyone can call their extended warranty company and check to see if the dealership is telling you the truth!!!!

My mother purchased a 2015 frontier from Lithia Dodge. Because of her age, the Lithia staff took advantage of her.
My mother is 76 years old. She ended up paying over $ 40,000 for a $ 28,000 truck. On top of that, the truck she bought was not new but used. The price I gave of 28000 was for a new 2016 frontier truck.
Can you imagine paying over $ 40,000 for a used truck? Tried to take it back and switch it out for a 2016 dodge full-size 4 door V8 pickup with a sticker price of $ 38,000 but they made so much money on that frontier deal (btw half it was cash) they would not even consider it. I would never do something like this to their mothers, but they had no problem doing that to mine.
Is there anymore that needs to be said? Avoid these people, if you love your mother......
