Total fraud

This woman is a scam. Liss Caldwell offered lots of advice on the digital marketing of our business but nothing made sense or was actionable. Liss thinks using big words justifies her big fees, but it really doesnt. She would use lots of jargon words and give advice on what to do, meanwhile having no personal experience, as her own social channels show, or be able to give us actionable steps on how to achieve the things she advised. A waste of *** time is how I would describe Liss Caldwells services.

Viciously Targets Small Businesses

For reasons unknown, Liss Caldwell creates fake profiles so she can leave negative reviews on business pages. Her complaints are nothing more than slander and she hides behind fake names to get away with it. She does it without any remorse and we struggle to find a reason why we were attacked by her. These reviews can have a long lasting and devastating effect on small business and the real people behind them. We see she promotes herself as a Digital Marketer, we would recommend that any business steer well clear of her.

User's recommendation: Stay away and report her reviews to Google.

Liss Caldwell Authorpreneur Masterclass Scam

Good to see these stories coming out. Liss made unsubstantiated claims about her work as an author, and as a coach in a Facebook group I was in. It was a business coaching group, run by another coach, where she pushed a competition she was running to win a scholarship for the Liss Caldwell Authorpreneur Masterclass. Several of the women from the group entered by submitting our story ideas. A few of us won, but later received an invoice for around $5000. Liss told us we only won a 'partial scholarship'. We all realised what a fraud she was. We couldn't find any of the books she said she had written or any proof of the book tours, speaking gigs or other people who had something good to say about her. Liss had used a fake profile in the group named Grace Halfpenny. She would chat on her own posts with herself and this Grace profile to make it seem like she had credibility. The group admin kicked Liss Caldwell and Grace Halfpenny out of the group after we all complained about her. I don't think anyone took up any of the Authorpreneur Masterclass offers. I do wonder though what Liss will do with all those story ideas sent to her. We know she did not behave with transparency or ethically. I hope she doesn't steal the ideas off people.

Can't build websites

OMG! I just saw someone post in my local Facebook group about Liss Caldwell and fraud. I am so glad people are finally talking about this. Liss did my website and it was terrible! She used the wordpress.com because it is free, but it just looks like a cheap blog. If I want to add a shop or add any useful features I have to pay extra to WordPress. Liss's solution was to link products through to Paypal one by one. There is no ability for customers to buy multiple items, no shopping cart, no combined postage, they can only buy one by one after several clicks. All I got was complaints from my customers about how difficult the process was. And her graphics! They were so bad. I don't want to be horrible, but she has no sense of design at all. Colour clashes, bold font writing smacked on top, she just butchers the aesthetics. Liss is not a website developer. Setting up a free worpress.com account is not being a web developer. I have learned this the hard way after wasted time and money. I have a proper website developer now, I have a great looking website, a functioning shop, I can add forms, email sign up, members area, blog and lots of other functions Liss just has no idea about. It's hard when you are just starting out and you don't know about the technology. I was easily suckered into Liss Caldwell's scam.

User's recommendation: Don't get her to do your website.

Unprofessional and short tempered teacher

I attended several of Liss Caldwell's classes at ACE community college in Lismore and Byron Bay College. They were a complete waste of time. The only reason most of them filled was because they were free to small business. We all assumed because they were being taught at the community college that they would be taught by an expert or at least someone with valid experience. Liss taught like she has just read the topic last night, she was scattered in her teaching, jumping from one thing to the next, not checking for understanding with her students and if anyone asked questions, the response was 'I'm not talking smarties when we are on maltesers'. She provided no resources to help with learning and notes consisted of her taking a picture on her phone of her scribblings on the board, saying she would send it to us, when she never did. Not that it would have helped, her scribblings made no sense. In class Liss showed other local business's social media accounts and pointed out what they did wrong. She kept repeating, 'what's discussed in the classroom stays in the classroom', yet she was in a class full of local small businesses, tearing down the attempts of other small businesses. It was completely inappropriate. She constantly pointed out what others did wrong but could never show clear examples of small business doing it right. Seeing her own social media accounts was a red flag that she didn't know what she was talking about. The clients she talked about having could never be named and she never showed examples of her own work. She was extremely short-tempered and lacking in any patience for her students. Liss's teaching style was to talk at the class, and talk over the class. I began to realise that she couldn't answer questions because she in fact did not know the answers. At Byron Bay college I witnessed Liss have a face to face screaming match with a student in a vulgar and unprofessional display of aggression. I was not surprised to hear that she no longer worked at either colleges and that her attempts to hold her own workshops failed. I am also not surprised to read the other reviews for Liss Caldwell on this page. Amongst the small business community of the Northern Rivers, Liss Caldwell has gained much negative notoriety for her duplicity, underhanded tactics and her ability to embellish and lie about almost everything she does. The only thing that surprises me is that she still tries to put herself out in the Northern Rivers area.

User's recommendation: Avoid Liss Caldwell.

Avoid Northern Rivers Networkers

I attended Liss Caldwell's Northern Rivers Networkers business networking meetings and while I enjoyed meeting other small business owners, Liss is not qualified or has adequate business experience to run these meetings. I found Liss rude and unprofessional in the way she ran the meetings, often berating people in front of everyone. I watched one young mother who showed up being told harshly that children were not welcomed and then Liss made the mother leave her child with a friend outside so she could give her 90 second business intro so Liss wasn't troubled by a baby that would have really been no trouble at all. It was appalling to watch another small business owner being treated like this. Liss would often be haughty and critical, which I realise now was more about her own insecurities and knowing she was way out of her depth. I researched Liss online and found just what the other reviews on this page said. Many claims about being an experienced business woman, an author, digital marketer and lots of other lies. I could not find anything to back up her claims. When asking Liss herself about her experience there was always vague answers or outlandish claims, like being an olympian equestrian. It was almost laughable but for the fact that some of the lovely and honest business women at the meeting could not see her for what she was and were duped by her claims, and ended up paying money for bad advice. It is one thing to push yourself, learn new skills and try new things but Liss blatantly lies about her qualifications, makes up stories and bullies others. If you are thinking of attending one of her meetings, do some research online and ask your other business friends about Liss. You will probably find it is not worth your time attending.

User's recommendation: Avoid Northern Rivers Networkers.

Do not give her your money

Liss Caldwell is a fraud who rips people off under the promise of helping them to write and publish a book. She claims to be a published author but hasn’t actually published a single book. She also hasn’t helped anyone achieve success at all. She takes your money and makes outlandish claims of her experience and success. Specifically: - she claimed to have been speaking on a sold out book tour when she wasn’t speaking anywhere - she claims to be in talks with Netflix and Foxtel about her book being a series. This is completely untrue. - she claims to have thousands of online followers in ‘private life communities - but doesn’t. - she claims she has published dozens of books - she hasn’t published one I was so naive, and didn’t do any background checks before giving her my money and her service was extremely poor, her advice so outdated it didn’t warrant even contemplating, and she didn’t know what she was talking about when it came to social media strategy.

I signed up to her email list on the promise of getting the first 3 chapters of her book Ability Corp series, Initiation and all I got was excuses about being in the fire zone, which she is not, as to why she couldn't email. As a digital marketer you would think that she would have the chapters ready to go, if she was legitimate.

She told me to follow her @CaldwellLiss to 'keep in the loop' with updates and when her book would be available but all I could find was claims about being an author, but no actual book in sight, no book could be found on Google. This book was released in September 2019 and she claims it has sold over 1,000 copies and people are leaving great reviews - I can not find one single review or book or any reference to her being an author except a few pieces she wrote for some local magazines. Looking through her Facebook page she directed me to, was just a list of claims - sold out international tours, author of numerous books, being 'in the publishing industry' for anywhere between 25 - 30 years when her public information says she is 40 something, that would make her 10-15 years old when she started?, being at major speaking events, being a digital marketer, being a facilitator - and there is no proof, except her own words. There are no photos of her touring internationally in the UK, Canada, Japan, New Zealand as claimed.

There are no books. A look at her page and website tell you all you really need to know about her digital marketing skills. There are no reviews on her Facebook page or on Google, which looks like she may have turned these off. Her tag line for the book reads #canyoukeepup which is funny because it's hard to keep up with all the claims she makes.

She is now running workshops for authors and unfortunately Jess has fallen victim to this.

I urge anyone thinking of signing up to Liss Caldwell's workshops in the Northern Rivers to first do some research on her, ask for references, recent examples of her work, clients she has worked with, a copy of her book, anything to prove her claims. Ask her publicly on her Facebook page and you see how quickly she becomes defensive and blocks you, as she did to me because I questioned her claims.
