Maggots inside Lindt chocolate
- - Lindt chocolates contained maggots.
- - A complaint was filed with Lindt including barcode, batch, expiry, and photos; receipt requested, no follow-up.
I haven’t heard anything back from them. They sent an email asking for the receipt as proof, I did I explain it was a gift and I don’t a receipt.
Never heard back from them. I posted all over social media, they don’t care. Very annoyed!
Will never eat anything from Lindt again. Customer service is pathetic
I enjoyed a few chocolates while watching TV and decided to get a few more. When I switched on the light to open the wrappers I noticed something odd, at first I couldn't believe my eyes and opened a few more. There were live maggots inside the chocolate!! I immediately took photos and logged a complaint with Lindt customer care.
I had to confirm the barcode, batch number, expiry number and send photos as proof. They said thank you for the email, their next response was they want the receipt. I did explain it was a gift, I don't have proof. I never heard anything from them again!
Obviously they don't care about their customers, our wellbeing, health, hygiene or consequences. I don't care about a lousy voucher or new box of chocolates. I am traumatized about the experience, I can never eat a chocolate in the dark, without double-checking for maggots. Furthermore, I was not able to eat chocolates since that awful experience.
Every time I think about it, I get extremely nauseous! I will never buy Lindt as a gift! Very appalled, disgusted and very disappointed. I demand answers!
How is this possible? How did this happen? What steps will be taken? What actions will be taken?
How will this be prevented in future? What if I became ill or got a bacterial infection? I have lupus I can't afford getting bacterial infections, who will pay my medical bills? In what horrible, filthy, unhealthy conditions are you preparing the chocolates in???
Why was this not monitored. How is it possible that it went unnoticed through the whole process?

User's recommendation: Do not buy as a gift, you’ll need a receipt. You can buy it for an ex as there will be an extra surprise or perhaps for Halloween because it already contains worms and maggots. Definitely not vegan friendly, it contains protein
