Ripped off by mechanic
- - Power steering pump said wrong size; Linfield offered another.
- - Brakes allegedly bad again after a year.
- - Quote around $900; final price rose over $300.
I took my truck in to get a power steering pump that I already purchased, installed. First they told me it was the wrong size and they could get another one that morning, I said ok.
By the time they called me back they told me I needed back brakes. I said wait I just got them replaced, the whole set up a little over a year ago. Nope they are really bad need replacing. They gave me a quote of $900 something, by the time I got my truck back it needed front and back brakes, rotors, alignment plus the pump---price went up over 300 dollars.
How do they get away with this? I am a single mom trying to bring up two boys one a senior in high school the other in college, we lost their dad last year, why do they take advantage of women?
its bull! Do not take your vehicle to Linfield Transmission in Deansboro NY unless you want to get ripped off too!!!!!!!!

Yes I'm in the same boat with you Stu is screwing me, I've had my truck there since June to get the transmission rebuilt and they still have it and its 4 days until Thanksgiving 2014 and they keep saying it's not working right...good think I don't owe anything on the truck it would have been 6 months of wasted payments....DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO HIM...he has *** poor employees that work for him and they are bringing him down along with his reputation and company.
