Linden Volkswagen in Roselle, NJ insist on keeping my money without providing any service

These events transpired between between Dec 20 -22nd 1. On my initial visit on Dec 20th the sales manager refused to meet with me when I asked to talk to him. 2. On Dec 20th, I discussed with Michael Ramirez a sale consultant about my interest in a car. I showed him a deal from another dealership that was far better than what he had to offer. He even signed on to the competitor's website to review the deal. He assured me that there has to be some fine print that would eventually raise the price and that he was offering the best available deal anywhere. He did not have the car I wanter immediately available and over to transport the car in. He asked me to leave a deposit to show that I was serious about the car. He had me pay $1000 deposit to show good faith so they can bring the car in. I was to return on Dec 22 to test drive the car and complete the lease transaction. Before returning to Linden Volkswagen, I stopped at the competition and was able to secure the more attractive advertised offer. When I returned to complete the deal, I showed Michael Ramirez the offer from the other dealership and asked for them to match or better the offer. Instead they became very upset, question why I would look for better deals. In retaliation, they rescinded their offer and refused to refund my $1000. My understanding is that it is illegal for dealerships in new jersey to withhold deposit particularly when I have neither test drove the car nor physically saw the car. This is bullying and predatory practice to take advantage of customer without any real recourse. 3. They insist the money is not refundable and for the transportation of the car. The agreement was that the money is a deposit towards the lease agreement. The argue their lease agreement paper specified that this is a non refundable fee. This is accurate only if the lease was completed and I went away with the car. In this care I never even saw the car. 4. The sales manager ( Al Montesdeoca) who initially refused to talk to me on Dec 20 finally came to talk to me on Dec 22 and his first comment were that they are a dealership and they are protected by a bunch of lawyers so I better not think about suing. I then ask for the lawyer's information. He then decide that he can no longer talk to me because I mentioned lawyer. I reminded him he was the one introduced anything about lawyers. At this point he walked away and had one of the sales associate escort me out. 5. I contacted Volkwagen of america to resolve the issue and help in getting my money returned. The representative from VW america insisted there was nothing they can do to get my money return.
