THE WORST COMPANY

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

First of all I received my make up about a month after ordering, which I was kind of bummed about but I understood due to Covid and everything surrounding shipping. Once it came I was out of town helping my elderly mother so I didn't actually open the package until about 26 days after the products actually arrived at my home.

Once I opened the products and tried them the color was totally off - I literally looked like an oompa loompa with bright pink cheeks - I ordered the foundation and blush. I think had the color been matched the product was so-so and I would have just kept it but unless you're an orange this color isn't going to match anyone!!! I was fine but wanted to exchange it or return these products but since I was 9 days over the 30 days since this product landed in my mailbox they will not do ANYTHING for me. My suggestion is unless you are really good about receiving and shipping back immediately don't use this company.

They can take over 30 days to get me my product but I take less than 2 weeks over their 30 day policy and they won't even exchange a product that is beyond wrong. I will NEVER order another thing from this company and my mom who is a longtime customer will now be switching to another company who will stand behind bad products.

Limelight By Alcone Worst DS Company Ever

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I signed up to sell Limelight by Alcone. I was successful making sells and gaining customers.

Just 30 days into signing up the backorders started. My customers and myself had to wait months to get the products. I waited 3 months to get a black eyeliner pen. Customer service was rude and they never followed through with fixing any wrongs.

Then all the foundations were on backorder. Instead of fixing these issues they continued to launch new products and change packaging. Then the freeze for any new Guides because they where sinking fast. The founders kept posting videos on how out of control they knew all these issues with back orders and customer service were.

It was too late in my opinion. The products were good. A little pricy for my taste, but you can't sell something that isn't available to buy. My customers lost faith in the company.

I have 2 former customers to this day that never received items nor did they ever get a refund from the company. Then 3 months after I left my Enroller began bullying me for openly telling other people about my experience. No matter how good their products were the company is a complete disaster. The women that are actually making a decent income bully and lie to their teams to keep their numbers up.

Limelight has scammed so much money from reps and customers by not sending anything after making a purchase they should be investigated and shut down entirely! Limelight was the worst and most corrupt Direct Sales Company I have ever worked for.

Stay clear of this company at all costs. Hopefully they will be forced to stop doing direct sales.

What direct sales companies have you worked for that were good? You stated, “LimeLife is the worst...”.

And how much money were you out that you lost more than you made? Do you have an advice to give people who are interested in direct sales?

What companies do you recommend? Is that your only source of income, or did you become part of a team because you loved the products and the friends you made.

Guest

Lime Light has an “F” rating with BBB. A friend of mine tried to get me to join.

Pawning it off as it wasn’t a pyramid scheme or MLM. I decided to do my own research bc I tried the IT Works MLM before and I was paying out more than I was bringing in. The products were super expensive. And whata ya know!

I lost weight all by myself! Eating better and exercising

Guest

I think when you have "leaders" showing unrealistic income that was an immediate turn off.

Guest

I had a very similar story to yours. I left that company.

That was so shady. I couldn't trust them anymore and my clients didn't trust the company either.

My reputation was on the line because of them. Notice that they erased all negative comments on Facebook of customers asking where their products were.

Guest

I agree.

Guest

I agree this is a pyramid scheme Why do you have to be on a team w here the team lead gets money from the sales their team members make . The team lead is raking in the dough who needs them? Scam

Guest

Thats so STRANGE. I have ordered Lymelifelimelight products since they opened.

I have never had them refuse me a refund in fact one time I was over the 30 days for a return I told them what happened and why and they were extremely nice and made an exception for me that one time.

I loved all of the products. All of the products I’ve gotten have better ingredients than so many make up products on the market they all perform very well I’ve never been pressured into buying anything

I joined LimeLight (now LimeLife) in September of 2017. I have seen absolutely none of what Hooks08 is describing.

I have been so impressed with the integrity of this company and how they are committed to their reps and customers. They have absolutely awesome customer service. The only times there were Out Of Stock for any length of time was when they were rebranding. They do not even do backorders when people order.

They go out of their way to make things right if a mistake is made, etc. It is NOT A SCAM. There is no way to lost money with this company unless you just do something that's not very smart such as ordering a lot of product up front. They highly discourage that.

They also discourage salesy and spammy tactics. I have learned so much from all of the phenomenal trainings that are absolutely free.

Also, it has given me confidence that I lacked which is the best part of being involved. The comment that the company is corrupt is amost comical as this can not be further from the truth.

Call your credit card company and say you lost your card and need a new one. This will stop all charges

Tyan Ndk

Alcone the company sells all the products, just under the actual brand names, such as RCMA for the foundations and so on- therefore you don't have to become an consultant to get the discount, since it is sold at a lower cost when not labeled under Limelife- also there are scores of other makeup distributors online as well who are also licensed to sell the products which Alcone re-packages and sells under the Limelife brand- such as Beautylish, Camera Ready to name a few.

Great skin care, terrible makeup.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

So, first of all I am not a promoter, nor do I sell Limelife. I have tried a wide range of Limelife products. I will list each with my review. Keep in mind I am mid 30's with oily acne prone skin with enlarged pores & some fine lines & wrinkles.

First lets start with makeup.

Botanical Foundation: I absolutely hated the foundation. Its thick, cakey, & feeks tacky even after setting it with powder & spray. It did not look good on my skin & basically melted off within a couple of hours. I would not recommend.

Perfect Eyeliner: if you like a really sharp eyeliner pen, you may like this eyeliner. I however felt the tip was too fine for my preference & didnt like this product. Would not Recommend.

Mascara: This is a buildable fiber mascara. I didn't notice much flaking, but you really have to build for it to look decent. (I'm talking like 5 coats.) Not for me. Would Not Reccomend.

Perfect lipstick: I purchased a sheer Lipstick. It feels amazing on my lips, but does have to be reapplied like chapstick. Doesn't last long but if you don't mind reapplying its great. A little pricey for the quality. I personally wouldn't repurchase.

Lipgloss: I do love my limelife lipgloss. I have to reapply often but thats with any gloss. The color I purchased is amazing. It smells great and feels good on. Not too tacky. I would recommend.

Matte Setting Spray: idk if this should be listed under makeup or skin care but I really like this setting spray. The smell is not pleasant AT ALL, but luckily it doesnt linger long and it really sets my makeup so well. Without it, my makeup partially melts off by mid day, with this setting spray my makeup lasts all day. Its so worth dealing with the terrible scent. Would recommend

Now, lets get to the good stuff. Skincare.

Dream Clean Face Cleanser: I LOVE this cleanser. It really removes my makeup well. I have purchased this product 3x & will continue to use this. Its an all around great cleanser. Love, Love, Love my Dream Clean. Would reccomend!

Masque of Zen: I like this mask. It feels very refreshing on my skin. I use this 2-3x/week. It does help, but from my experience does not eliminate acne. It removes oil and leaves my skin feeling refreshed. I have hormonal acne so its hard to tackle. This may work better for eliminating acne on ppl that only get occassional breakouts. Would Reccomend!

Skin Polish: I use this mask maybe once a week on a night im not using mask of Zen. It is hydrating & smells amazing. It exfoliates & leaves my skin feeling soft & smooth. I do like this mask & I would reccomend.

Calm Balm Moisturizer: I love this moisturizer. I actually apply it before applying my foundation. It absorbs quickly into the skin. Doesnt leave my skin looking shiny or oily. This is the only mousturizer I have ever found that I can honestly say I Love. I have purchased this more than once & I would recommend.

Basically I havent tried any limelife makeup I feel is worth the price other than the lip gloss & setting spray, but the skin care is amazing & I will continue to purchase it.

Thank you LimeLife/LimeLight for the recent Global Executive Takeover/Screwing Over!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Yesterday our CEO told us about the details of our global expansion w/the help of the partnership of L'Occitane (they own 60% now). As it was building excitement about hearing where we were going & when, sounded great until they told us that there will 2 launches per country & that executives only (Lead Director & above), would be allowed to recruit for the 1st launches, & for the 2nd launch Star Beauty Guides, Founding Beauty Guides, or anyone who has $5000 in sales per month could recruit globally.

Basically, they screwed over us lower levels who have been working hard with our teams with the hopes of reaching the executive ranks when we went globally! I can tell you I know for a fact not many Beauty Guides with LimeLife (yes new name) sell over $5000! Not even the executives, as most of them sell the minimum ($600 barely) & just crack the whip at their teams to work harder! Most of us had potential recruits in other countries waiting to join LimeLight, & now unless we promote quickly (only within the US) do we have a shot at recruiting globally.

All of the hard work I did, is going to GIVEN to someone in the executive ranks! "Oh, here's some potentials that I can't recruit, guess there yours now!" Same with sales, you have to be a "good samaritan" & give the international sale to an executive without receiving any credit whatsoever! You also need to pass an international test too, in order to be a global recruiter, which I know a certain Platinum level probably had a say in that one! You also have to pay for your international website/greenroom, $19 on top of the $9.95 for the US website/greenroom + your annual fee of $75!

I knew LimeLife was different than other direct sales companies but is the goal to just make the executive teams richer than they already are & everyone else broke especially after the purchase of the kit ($169 + all the website/annual fees)? I think you know the answer to that one!

So if you're planning to join LimeLife, unless you're already in direct sales & leaving another company with a huge team to get you to the executive ranks fast, or you're a top sales &/or top recruiter, or someone who is a sales person who can sell over $5000 a month, or independently weathy with nothing better to do with your time or your money, DON'T BOTHER JOINING! Unless you don't care about recruiting globally & making "some REAL money" instead of the peanuts you'll ACTUALLY make!

The requirements you listed are incorrect. The requirement was $5000 in lifetime sales, not monthly sales. Recruiting was opened in a stagger pattern, with those meeting the requirements able to recruit first, not exclusively.

Guest

It's not different than other MLMs, they just tell you that. And look at how much time and your own money you invest and see what your real hourly wage is. They are there to profit off of YOU, thecteam member

Guest

Hmmm. Same philosophy of why I left Arbonne after 24 years.

I did reach the top but the plan changed. It became pittance for average consultants. The retail oppty was sacrificed by the creation of the preferred client program. I have a consultant on my present team (Apriori Beauty) that sold 1000.

in Arbonne when she first joined them. Because she was encouraged by her upline to sign up all the new clients as preferred clients her commission on that 1k was 84. In my new company (of 8 years) she would have earned close to $300.

Ethically I couldn't continue to tell new people to join and earn with retail. In AB the consultant level plan is lucrative.

Guest

Your report of needing $5000 a month is inaccurate. Check your facts.

It's $5000 or more total sales! I'm not a Star BG, but I was able to recruit internationally because of my sales of $5000 or more.

Guest

Hi ! I am sorry you feel this way..

but yes its $5000 TOTAL prv. Also speaking as someone who reached Lead Director in 2 months from sign up with no experience in this field, anything is possible with the determination to take action and learn what actions to take. The only one to blame for not being able to sponser internationally is yourself. I do not mean to say that in harsh way...

just reality. I also appreciate that the company wants their reps to earn the right to grow a team internationally, as its not an easy thing to launch in a new country, and the new beauty guides there need to be lead by people who take action and have proven to be leaders.

The simple fact that you felt the need to bash your company and upline on the internet and did not know the policy was $5000 total PRV, tells me you were not ready to sponser someone in another country and maybe should do some trainings and research to help you be a better sponser, beauty guide and person, to see the potential in this business and yourself. Sorry for the bluntness, just my outtake on what you wrote. You are capable of amazing things, if you allow yourself to do so!

Guest

I happen to be a Global Founding Beauty Guide, and I do not sell $5000 per month. The policy is that you have to have $5000 Personal sales volume over all.

Which can be done as fast or as slow as you make it. I also took the test, and there is nothing unreasonable about taking a test to become a Global Founding Beauty Guide. I do pay the additional $19.95 per month. That is not too much to ask for all of the support that you are given as a result of the marketing, and the website useage.

I think it is very reasonable. I am sorry you feel the way that you do, but please get your facts straight before you post all over the internet. No one is trying to take something away from you, they are trying to get you to step up and earn it. This is not unusual in the business world.

If you were to purchase a franchise, or try to open your own business, your expenses would be way more than the $169 initial investment, and as for the $9.95 I would gladly pay that any day of the week for the amazing information that we get at our fingertips and the ease of use for the Professional Personalized Website, and all of the free training that we get. I Believe you really need to calculate how much it would cost to do all that LimeLife gives you for a very nominal fee.

I am so glad that I said yes to this Amazing Opportunity, and I am not one of the Executives that you speak about. However, I will be, because this opportunity is for everyone, and we can all get to the top without tearing everyone else down.

Guest

You have to have a lifetime prv of $5000 not monthly. I sell around $500 a month and can go global if I want.

I’ve sold over $5000 total for the year I’ve been in the business. Just clarifying the one mistake in your post

Guest

I think you should get the information correct before you go airing you grievances on a public page. I am a beauty guide.

Not a mess, Star or any other rank. I’m not even close to an executive. Was I bummed I couldn’t recruit globally? At first.

Until I really listens to what they had to say. They want a SUCCESSFUL global launch which isn’t incredibly hard to get right and they only get one chance. The sales requirement is $5000 LIFETIME NOT monthly. How would you coach a woman in Australia if you have barely gotten your feet wet in America?

How many recruits did you *actually* have globally? Honestly? I can tell imagine it wasn’t many, maybe 1 or 2 people. And if that’s the case I’m almost not positive your upline that beneifitted from YOUR hard work would have strategically placed a newer beauty guide in your downline if you were showing up and be proving you were ready for a team.

Even if they didn’t do that for you the reasons behind the recruiting requirement make sense, regardless of how we “feel”. Emotions are intense and I get that. Especially when we feel disappointed. But you should try listening.

Look into what happened when younique went global. It wasn’t an absolute nightmare and disaster. No order. No accountability.

Just chaos across the board. That isn’t NOT the limelight way and they are 1000% transparent about that and always have been. If you are reading this deciding weather to join limelight I hope you understand people get emotional and 1 or 10 women who talk badly about the company because they didn’t see the success they weren’t hoping for, should never deter you from taking a chance. If you can’t afford $169 for the kit then make sure you save and don’t put yourself in financial struggle to do so.

This business takes time if you have nevee done something like direct sales so DO NOT expect to rely on the income From limelight completely. If you are a naysayer that is your right but please spare me the shaming hidden under the pretense of you trying to help. You are bashing many women who love their business for so many different reasons. We are not victims.

The people who don’t succeed will protray themselves that way because it’s safer than admitting it just didn’t work out. I am so happy with my place in this company and why would I expect as a beauty guide with no team or mentoring experience that a huge company would hand me the rights to coach a team overseas?

Hey, everyone, this company sucks! They have fees every month that no one will advise you of and a huge fee to "renew" your subscription.

I have been trying to cancel my subscription for several months, I have only been able to contact them once via phone and when i did finally talk to an actual person she belittled me and said there was nothing she could do for me besides send me an email for cancelation but I don't have that email anymore so I am unable to access it.

Overall this has been the worst experience of my life and advice everyone NEVER to get involved with this company. They have very poor customer service.

I am a former Beauty Guide and I disagree with this post. If you read the agreement like you "agreed" too, then it would tell you that there was a $9.95 charge monthly for management of your backoffice/green room and website as well as the annual/anniversary date charge of I believe $75 if you chose to renew.

When I decided to step away, all it took was an email to customer service. I agree with some of the "pushy-ness" but all in all, the company is not bad.

Always read the fine print people, it's there I promise. Don't go bashing when you just didn't want to take the time to do your research before signing up with a MLM company..

Guest

I think it’s unfair to generalize the entire company. Yes, there are pushy leaders and yes the products may not work for everyone.

However, I have literally never had a bad customer service experience with this company and the products all work great for me! That is why it is a business in a box where you create your own opportunity. If someone is pushy tell them it is your business to do what you’d like. If the products don’t work for you experiment and try other brands if you want.

The print on the application states that it’s 9.95 a month (for which they provide an online office where all your commissions and discounts are handled for you plus you get an instant 20% off) and the annual fee is noted. It’s a contract like anything else in this world...would you sign a mortgage without reading all of the sentences?!

I do agree it should be easy to cancel your membership though. Sorry you had such an awful experience that ruined it for you!

Guest

Beauty Guides will tell you too that all companies are in this consumer site, but that’s not true now, is it? These aren’t made up stories with one person and multiple names.

These are TRUTHS that these nutcases refuse to believe b/c they’re so busy trying to make another income and ripping people off! It’s sickening.
