HESPERIA >> A 33-year-old man suspected of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl and fathering a child with a 17-year-old girl has been arrested, authorities said. Timothy Lee of Hesperia was taken into custody Tuesday on suspicion of multiple crimes, including committing sexual acts with a minor, lewd acts with a child and felony evading, according to a news release by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies were first alerted to the alleged sexual abuse by a 14-year-old girl on Sept. 9. A suspect was arrested but was released as detectives continued to gather more information on the case, the release said. A second victim, the 17-year-old female, was discovered during the investigation, authorities said. Detectives suspect Lee fathered a child with her, and a warrant for his arrest was issued, authorities said. Lee reportedly was spotted by Hesperia school police officers at Oak Hills High School, attempting to contact one of the alleged victims at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday. Deputies from the Hesperia Gang Team attempted to stop the suspect in the area of Main Street and Seventh Avenue but the suspect fled the scene, authorities said. Lee reportedly led deputies on a pursuit on the northbound 15 Freeway. Spike strips were utilized and the chase ended near Hodge Road. A sheriff’s helicopter was used during the chase. California Highway Patrol assisted in the pursuit. Lee was taken into custody without incident, the news release said. He was booked at Victor Valley Jail in Victorville and was being held in lieu of $350,000 bail.
