Charged overdraft fee when money was in account

went to LGE credit union today at 4 p.m. to deposit my check of $700 directly with a teller. At 6 p.m. I made a transaction of $22 and was charged an overdraft fee of $30 and has my account at -$87. I am beyond pissed because their customer service line for the phones closes at 6 p.m. someone please explain to me how having over 700 dollars in ones checking account equates to having an available balance of negative $87. and then having the audacity to not even have anyone available to speak with I better be getting that overdraft fee removed and the issue resolved as soon as possible

if it seems too good to be true, it is. there is a scam alert out of Georgia about this company. They tried to get my son, but I checked them out first.

Usally banks give you 1 or 2 fee reversals per year so you might get one. When you deposit cash it takes 1 to 4 business days to credit to your account.Thats just the way it works and if you deposit a check it can take even longer.Banks make lots of money this way. They also take all debits out before posting you deposit another way they make money. Now that you are aware of this next time you can plan better.I know it sucks but all banks do this.
