Refusal of dealership service department to realign rear sensor under full warranty

AI Highlights
  • RCTA, BSM, RPSA unavailable; dealer cites misaligned sensor; pristine 22k miles, under warranty, seeking help re $750 repair.

My wife and I purchased our second Lexus 350 ES in Memphis in February of 2021 and subsequently moved to the Orlando area. We have been using Lexus of Winter Park dealership. Recently, after attending Mass, we waited in the parking lot while a number of cars and individuals passed behind our vehicle at a safe distance. When we were able to proceed forward, I noticed our RCTA, BSM, and RPSA were flashing and indicating all were unavailable. I waited for two weeks then brought the car in to Lexus of Winter Park. We were told there was a misaligned sensor which was probably damaged by us, so there would be a $750 charge to repair it. Our vehicle is in pristine condition, carefully maintained and garaged as we are an older couple, and it has only 22,000 miles on it. There was no damage nor precipitating factor to this malfunction. We are extremely upset and disappointed as we had no problems nor issues with the Lexus dealership in the ten years we owned our first 350 ES. We feel it is so unfair and dishonest to be charged a large amount for an obvious malfunction of our automobile when it is under full warranty. Lexus of Winter Park was totally unresponsive to our plight. Please intercede on our behalf to help us have these important safety alerts going forward. We spoke with Manager Alex Darwich and consultant Jonathan Fajardo and would greatly appreciate their help. It is a beautiful dealership, but that doesn't help our plight.

Terrible Service Department

AI Highlights
  • 10/3/2020 oil change at Lexus of Winter Park for RX350 with Fram filter installed.
  • 3/14/2021 service found the 2020 oil change didn't replace the filter.

On 10/3/2020 Lexus of Winter Park completed an oil change on my RX350. On 3/14/2021 I had a different service provider complete the next oil change on my vehicle and it was determined that Lexus of Winter Park did not replace the oil filter when they did the oil change on 10/3/2020.

There was an extremely dirty Fram oil filter installed in my vehicle and Lexus of Winter Park only uses the Lexus oil filters. Yesterday I spoke to Howard Keyser, Fixed Operations Director at Lexus of Winter Park and showed him the dirty Fram oil filter.

Howard told me he was sorry for the issue, but he did not seem to care about my Lexus. Hopefully I will not have engine problems due to their negligence.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution

User's recommendation: I do not recommend having an oil change performed at Lexus of Winter Park.

Lousy due to Dan Warren

As a sales manager he is rude and needs to go back to school on how to work with Lexus drivers for over 20 years

Lies, Lies, Lies

AI Highlights
  • 2015: dashboard replacement discussed; VIN, make, model given; calls continued; supervisor said conditioned answer; no reply from management.

I received a letter around late May 2015 for a dashboard replacement (theirs is melting), I called the next day and their employee took my car information (VIN, make, model, and personal info). I called again after a little over a month of not hearing anything.

THEIR employee said my information was there and they were waiting for the parts. I made four (4) calls to them before May 2017. I'm very disappointed that a company like Lexus is resulting in lies saying I never called in to get it fixed and now it's too late. THEIR OWN SUPERVISOR said the employee who spoke to me about it probably just gave a conditioned answer they tell everyone.

For them to outright lie and say I have never contacted them is beyond ridicules. The management team didn’t even have the decency to reply to my email.
