- Hired Lemon Squad; inspection said no leaks or damage, engine and tires were fine.
- Leak and cabinet distortion found after purchase; refund requested.
In 2019, I hired Lemon Squad to do a complete RV inspection. The RV was in Iowa, and I live in Florida.
I wasn't going to purchase the RV without knowing that it was not flooded, had a good engine, was safe, and had gone through thoroughly. When the inspection report came back, it said all the components were fine with the coach: no signs of a leak or damage to it, the engine was great, had new tires, etc. What they did find was a bit of stitching separating on the seats and a little clear coat issue; everything else was perfect. So because of that report, we decided to purchase it.
I live in Florida, the vehicle was in Iowa, and I had to get a flight out there to pick it up. We arrived in the cold, dark, snowy night; couldn't see it well, which didn't matter since we already owned it and there would be no action we could take with the previous owner if we did. While we were driving home and the sun was coming up, my partner said, 'Look at all this distortion with the cabinets and back wall.' Well, obviously there had been a leak, and it was bad. I contacted the company and the president of Lemon Squad to give them a piece of my mind and told them I wanted my money back.
They told me that because it took me a couple of weeks to get a flight out, the damage could have happened in those couple of weeks, like a hurricane or something. I said, 'In a barn in Iowa in November?' I was so upset because you pay somebody big bucks to do their job, which obviously they didn't. So, I was bugging them and bugging them and informed them I wanted a refund and that there was nothing I could do with the RV, as I had purchased it from the individual, so I was stuck with it. The owner of the company said they were going to sue me for harassment.
I still, to this day, 6 years and 2 months later, would like to go up against this company and force them to give me the money I had to pay them for their rotten service and pay for the RV and the money I had to put into it. I had to put thousands and thousands of dollars into it because of them. Do not deal with Lemon Squad to check any vehicle.
Read their ratings—something I should have done beforehand. Just be warned!!!
