Dinner and Sales Pitch

We got a call from a person who said they were from Wyndham and they were inviting us to an update for time share owners. They offered us dinner at a local restaurant if we would come to here what they had to say. I suggested it might be better if they sent us the update in written form but they insisted that they wanted to meet us. We agreed to the meeting. One day before the appointment we received a call to confirm that we were coming for the meeting. I wanted to confirm that we were meeting with a Wyndham representative. I was told at that time that the meeting was with RCI which is owned by Wyndham. We went anyway. Over dinner and chat with our assigned agent I again asked if they represented Wyndham or RCI. No...Actually, they are Leisure Gateway, Inc. They then tried to sell us on refinancing out Wyndham ownership with them. We walked out...Or actually, after I pointed out in a voice audible to others in the room that "This is a sales pitch and we were told it wouldn't be a sales pitech," the leader of the group said, "Get them out of here." I don't know who they really are, but I would suggest you not do business with them.

I only wish we would have checked these people out! You are so right, they should be locked up!

We have owned for 20+ years and went in for the dinner and meeting. We had a pleasant experience overall and ate a Buca Di Beppo which is my wifes favorite place.

Yes, they had sales people, yes we were offered an upgrade. But we also know in our experiences that "free" usually comes with stipulations. They were professional to us and accomodating to our needs. Most people know and understand that going in.

Its better than a sales pitch while on vacation. When we said we didnt want any more points, they didnt push us so that was actually refreshing.

Here at Leisure Getaways Incorporated we take every client concern/complaint very serious; however, I find this type of complaint to be the most concerning. To have a third party marketing company represent us in that manner is not only unethical it is absolutely a counterproductive strategy for us as a company.

I would have reacted in the exact same manner such as yourself (leaving the presentation immediately) as the relationship started with a misrepresentation. I would have a hard time trusting anything else that was said to me.

As a contractual obligation the marketing company we use is to record all client contacts, do you remember the day you were contacted? By whom?

A) This information would be most helpful for us to identify the offending individual/s and deal with them accordingly; B) it would help prevent it from occurring to anyone else in the future.

Please understand this is not and never would be condoned by our organization as it would make the clients that were brought to us under this false pretense virtually "un-sellable" and thus cost us to lose money at an unsustainable rate.

I truly thank you for bringing this to my attention and look forward to your response.

You can reach me directly at 281-825-3844 or lgijustin@live.com.

Best Regards,

Leisure Getaways Inc

That is 100% false they do not contrat their marketing, they own the marketing. They are told to say anything to get people in the door. When the sales reps complain about this to the higher ups they are told to deal with it and "get the money" they are a total sham

LGI Lied to Me

A lady called this afternoon claiming to be a representative of Interval International with some information about new resorts and trading options to be offered in 2015. I was invited to dinner at a local restaurant for next week. I became suspicious when she didn't know my home resort. I asked her point-blank if she worked for Interval International and she said yes. Unfortunately, I was *** and believed her and divulged some personal information. After hanging up, I called Interval to confirm this new program. Interval said that they have no such program and they had no idea what was going on. When I called the restaurant, they told me that LGI had booked the restaurant for the dinners. I called back the phone number and told LGI that I was very upset at being deceived and duped into divulging personal information. The second lady had the nerve to tell me that LGI is hired by Interval and RCI to help owners. I see from the other posts above that this is a total scam. If you get a weird phone call and invitation from people at LGI pretending to work for Interval or RCI, hang up and report them.

to the anonymous who claims to work at a resort- you cant pretend to be any better when resorts are known for upgrading their "poor owners" over and over again. 98% of those owners have no idea they are being scammed into spending thousands more on "upgrades" and are still stuck with the same *** trade value!

Guest

As a timeshare resort employee WE HATE companies like LGI that take advantage of our owners who have a hard time paying their fees to begin with and then to charge them money for your services that is fraudulent. You "sell" their shares to fictitious people and entities and these poor owners who believe you, and every word you "sell " them.

It is beyond shame on you ! ! How can you sleep at night knowing you are ripping people off... Its transfer companies like yours that are bringing the timeshare "economy" down !

! !

Scammers ! We now refuse all deeds from transfer companies and refer all of their information to the Florida attorney general, we will fight each of you one at time.

They do not work for RCI nor II. They have the privilege of being able to sell and upgrade owners into RCI platinum points.

I specifically asked them As well and they told me no, they do not work for the exchange companies. They're just able to sell the points. If anyone tells u they work for the exchange companies then they're not telling the truth. The only people that work for RCI or II are the people in the call centers that book your reservations.

Regardless, I've upgraded my RCI points twice through LGI and they work great. Gave us so much more choices and flexibility.

We couldn't be happier with our purchases and it's opened so many options for us.

We're happy owners, sorry you had a had experience.

Comments : We have I believe been snookered by "LEISURE GATEWAYS" out of

Texas I want to know if RCI has any connections with this company, or

with a company called " TIMESHARE OASIS" It seems they misrepresented

RCI by getting us into a meeting by using a phone call from a so called

RCI representative inviting us to a lunch meeting where we ended up in

what I consider a scam. The caller said that the meeting was to up date us on how the Points program is going to work in the future and that the RCI directory info was not going to be mailed to RCI members so in order to inform us we are invited to a luncheon.

Long story short they had us open an "BARCLEY RCI card and charged over 8 Thousand $ on the acct.

I have since closed that card. I want to know if you know anything about these company's

BEWARE!!!!!

Former employee... They lie, steal and cheat everyone!!!! I worked for this company for almost 2 years. I have worked with its "higher ups" for almost a decade. They will sell you what you already have and tell you is not the same. They will not have your deeds removed from your name and if they do it well take them years. The people you are giving your information such as social security numbers, drivers license, etc all have criminal records and most are on drugs or drink while taking your money... As a matter of fact most are still on parole. The sad truth is they do not care about you or the people they have working for them. This is why you deal with such ride and shady characters. They can't keep anyone who is worth while because they don't pay them when it's payday and anyone willing to stand up to them about what is right or wrong for owners gets fired. Now, on another note, the product sold is great. If you are going to own a timeshare RCI Points is the only way to go. Just not from this company...

Was not a former employee of this company, but worked directly with owners, administration and sales persons at a previous company and Anonymous is not lying. Please go directly through RCI to get into the points program, do not allow these thieves and drunks to handle even one cent of your money.

Unfortunately it is impossible to address this libelous comment in the proper manner when the post is made anonymously. While we believe all companies have the right to operate (provided they do so in a legal and ethical manner) we would love the opportunity to take you to task for these nonsensical claims.

1. Background checks are done on all employees, without exception.

2. Every complaint ever made via a legitimate forum (BBB, etc.) has been resolved in an appropriate and mutually satisfactory manner.

3. Our employees are are amongst the most highly compensated in the industry, and due to their hard work our customer satisfaction rating is also amongst the highest in the industry.

4.

We guarantee delivery of our product in a timely manner or 110% of purchase price is refunded.

The funny thing Denny from "Atlanta" is actually Denny Moore, president of LGI, he is the biggest liar and cheat in timeshare. Their so called trainer Judd Hatch IS a convicted felon, drug charges I believe. So before you go off on how righteous your employee's are don't forget their are plenty of us that know the whole truth.

I read this and thought...why yes! A lot of it is true BUT as a former employee I totally will disagree about Mr.

Hatch... he has a wonderful heart and strives to create a great Atmosphere for his employees.

problem is there is only 1 of him and he can't be everywhere... so yeah there is a lot of not so good seeds but he is definitely not one

In order for this claim to be "libelous" it must be untrue. You cannot dispute the fact that most of the employee's have criminals records.

The head of the customer care department spent 10 months in a California jail for his 5th DUI (matter of public record) the sales trainer spent 2 years in a Texas prison for the sale of narcotics. The CEO has been arrested multiple times for PI,solicitation, and DUI. The so called president of sales has been fired from 2 companies I know of for sexual harassment. The list goes on and on.

LGI consists of a melting pot of criminals. Fact!

Very Nice Experience

We meet at a dinner with Leisure Getways Inc. We meet with a very intelligent young lady you gave us very valuable information and we felt informed when we left. They did offer us a trade into points but we felt at this time in our life as a young working family it just was not the right time. Would def. do business with in the future though. Very professional. I was very happy with the way things went. I was worried it was going to be your normal high pressure sales pitch but this was completly pleasant! Thanks for dinner!

Leisure Getaways is a SCAM

Leisure Getaways is a SCAM
If you have been contacted by Leisure Getaways for an timeshare update at a local eatery, save yourself the trouble and DO NOT get involved. Leisure Getaways is NOT RCI (as they claim) and they will scam you out of thousands. Man scammed by LGI: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Cnd7_xdhsQ (start at 1:00) You will see the LGI book at 1:20. They have a C rating with the BBB and the Better Business Bureau warns of high pressure sales tactics and failure to communicate from the business after contracts are signed. Don't bother working for them either. They don't pay their staff.

Rail Roaded!!!!!!!

I met i the representative I thought was with RCI. I later found out that they were not but I listened to their presentation. Long story short, they asked to purchase my timeshare, reduce the cost of my maintenance fee, reduce the cost of my exchange fee for puchasing a points based timeshare. I agreed. This was charged on an RCI credit card through Barclay bank. I asked if I would be charged prior to the completion of the transfer, I told was no by the Rep (Jarrett Vickers). about one week later, I received a statement from Barclay Bank. No transfer had occurred. My ex-husband is on the deeds, of which I informed that he would not sign off, I was told not to worry they would take care of it. Since then I have received a Limited Power of Attorney to sign which I can't. I have tried to correct this situation to no avail.

It only took 3 months for them to remove 4 deeds out of our name. Yes, we had to pay $ for each deed to be taken out but thankfully now we're out of our yearly maintenance fees. Yes I would recommend and we're surly glad for the help!

I was in the same situation regarding my ex-husband on the deeds and Leisure Getaways sent me a Limited Power of Attorney and it was very easy and everything was taken care of rather quickly. Dont get upset about something you havent finished your side of yet..

They will come through. I have done business with them in the past 6 months and everything was very smooth.

If it is too good to be true- it probably is.

LGI is a joke and attempts to portray themselves as something they are certainly not. People who say they are "satisfied" with the services they received are just as full of *** as LGI's sales team. Sell your *** timeshare (you know you don't use it) and vacation like a normal person does- without paying for "points". Take the extra thousands you spend on this "RCI Points Package" and just buy a flight and hotel. You'll thank your lucky stars you walked away from this scam. *Side note, the ones defending this company, probably work for it and are desperate to maintain their "job". I say "job" because they know it's all *** as well. Ask the right questions, you'll see they definitely do not have ANY answers.

It would seem you were an employee of LGI and had a bad experience. The reason you are not anymore IA probably because you still don't know how the product works and how beneficial the points system is..

Full service!

Not really a complaint. ... but not everything in the world is negative now is it!? My husband and I received a phone call to come to a local restaurant for a timeshare update. Not knowing what to expect (and we did have several questions) we took the offer and got what we could together as far as our paperwork went. We arrived at the restaurant and we're greeted immediately. The staff was very friendly and dressed to impress. We were seated with a younger woman who then asked us to fill out a form and proof of ID. Over the course of dinner we continued to talk about our ownership. ... I would say 9 of 10 questions were answered in a professional manner. We were given the opportunity to add points to our ownership at the end of the meeting. ... we chose to take the opportunity and feel like it was a very good decision. The points are flexible and the website is very user friendly. So i guess you just have to take a chance sometimes and pray for the best.... and that we did.

Misrepresentation

My husband and I were invited to a free dinner under the guise of updating our current timeshare. The spokesman led me to believe they represented our current timeshare which is not leisure getaways. When I asked to have the update mailed to me I was told that it was too much information, about 200 pages to mail. Upon arrival the dinner we were treated rudely and when we refused to give our birthdates and email, were told that they couldn't proceed. Their representative was ignorant of what he was supposed to be doing and the manager was rude, as well. Beware of leisure getaways and get away from them.

Unable to make contact to communicate

been trying Tucker but his phone is not functional and texts do not come through i would like and e mail for tucker or justin c so we can communicate...just realized that we traded 29,500 points for 15,000 but am also having some other problems and need help...hope to be contacted by someone!!! Tucker wrote his phone number on our folder and said "use it"--if there is a problem with that number i would think it should be corrected or replaced....not having a means of contact leaves one to feel abandoned and untrusting of promises made during the presentation....we were so excited about our "deal" but at this point feel as if we may have made a mistakeleisure

Very Professional. The way it should always be.

We attended an "update" meeting at Ocharleys in Buford Ga a couple of weeks ago. We were greeted by several men in suits. We sat down and had a great dinner and discussion with a Mr. Don Smith. He was a delightful fellow. We had never heard of points and he explained how they worked etc. We then met a Mr. Jones who was delightful in helping us get our package worked out. We are excited to start using our points soon. Would definitely recommend this company to anyone... We received a call within a few days from Justin at the office who welcomed us and gave us an open line of communication. They did tell us it would be at least 6 months to trade the other timeshare but they explained why and we can understand. It was nice to be able to be at a sales presentation and not feel forced into anything as we are 67 and 69 years old. Overall a A+ experience.

We went to a dinner / update and actually felt informed...

Updated by user Dec 09, 2013

This was a review provided by a customer offering some assurance that we do have thousands of satisfied clients. People are quick to write a bad review and leave derogatory comments in regards to something they have no experience with.

Most people don't take the time to offer constructive or positive feedback on companies.

Nevertheless, we encourage you to contact us at 281-825-3844 with any questions or assistance needed. Thank you for your consideration and have a happy holiday season!

We went to an update meeting at a great restaurant and we actually felt informed. We talked about what we owned and how points were more flexible than the set week I owned. We were treated professionally and we didn't get pushed around when we didn't buy something. They told us that they will be there for us when we were ready. I have called their corporate office a couple of times asking questions and they were quick in answering me. I didn't feel that they just wanted a quick sale. I feel that they have good people working there and they work for you. We have been to one other update meeting and I must say that Leisure Getaways were considerably more informative and we will do business with them at the beginning of the year after we get our tax return in. I will update after we become a customer.

Miscomunication

I felt things were not what was promised on the sale of my WorldMark. Working with Justin Cheney changed my view. He returned calls or answered immediate .Justin has been working with us since Aug. What could have been a very bad experience has so far become a better situation. I'm waiting for closure, hopefully this week. He is working closely to help close so we can get our vacation planned before the year end. Justin deserves a gold star in a situation that could have been very bad. Thanks to him and a Merry Christmas to him and his staff. Marilyn Jones

DONTS BUY A TIMESHARE FROM THIS COMPANY!

I purchased a timeshare unit from this company on Ebay, and paid for it via Paypal. The representative of this company promised to hamdle the entire transaction, including resort notification. They never delivered the deed, or issued a refund. The resort did not know anything about this transaction! I have called, and sebt numerous emails, to no avail. I am filing this complaint in order to help others not be screwed! I also talked to one of the principals of this copany, who promised to get back to me ASAP 2 weeks ago! This complaint is being escalated to legal proceedings. I am also filing a complaint with both the Texas and South Carolina Secretary if States offices.

Thousands of International travelers, particularly from the US and Canada, have fallen victims of timeshare fraud while vacationing. Resort developers hire skilled salesmen to represent their timeshares as many different attractive packages, such as financial investments, deeded properties, or vacation clubs, just to increase their sales. http://timesharescam.com/

In regards to internet sales of timeshares prior to 9/1/13 offered by Leisure Getaways Incorporated-

Dear internet consumer,

There is no question that we have experienced our fair share of growing pains over the past couple of years; it is to be expected yet not accepted for the incredible volume we have experienced. While we have had negative reviews attributed to items beyond our control some have been the result of poor communication and/or a breakdown in the membership process leading to unacceptable delay for our consumers. If you have not received your membership/deed and it has been past 120 days since the inception of your purchase please contact 281 825 3844 in regards to the guaranteed delivery of your deed/membership.

We were scammed by agents of this same company a year ago. I only now found out that they are not connected to the transfer company I thought I was doing business with. The transfer company is more than happy to return their money which is only $349 of the $2500 I spent, thinking I was trading in my timeshare.
