Shoddy workmanship

They use rivets with steel mandrels that rust. Part of floor board had to be replaced because of it.

Found several already rusting bottom of boat its an aluminum boat so imagine what that does.

Boat is 2015 when bought new thought I was supporting canadian business this is what I get in return should have said something floor board was replaced. Just warning new owners or want to buy from legend ask what type of rivets they are using.

DBought a 5 year old F17 and after a month of searching, found out why it was taking on water. Hull cracked in 5 places. Previous owner an *** with no conscience so,,,

No problem right, Legend has a lifetime warranty on their hulls,,, NOT !!! Apparently the paint on the hulls are a structural component because if it is chipped or worn away from trailering, that dictates customer abuse and voids warranty

DON'T BUY A LEGEND IF YOU LIVE ON A GRAVEL ROAD !!!

I now own a 33,000.00 anchor, if the bilge pump dies the boat will sink in about 12 hours

Great Boat...POOR SERVICE!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Bought a Legend XCalibur back in 2009. Stopped working last August (2018)...brought it in early this year for a repair.

They did electrical work, apparently.

The Repair didn't fully fix the engine. 1 Cylinder dies from time to time.

I've been trying to book a repair appointment with them for 2 MONTHS....it's like they are trying to avoid having to fix their work for free = they are going to keep ignoring me until they can claim I waited too long.

I'm nearly at the point where I serve them papers for Small Claims Court....I have the phone records showing I've been trying to contact them for 2 months = they will lose this case!

Nightmare of buying a legend pontoon boat

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Bought a pontoon boat at the boat show, they gave me a price for my boat, the only contact was after was how they needed full price for the boat before I got my boat. After they got my boat( I rushed to them in April, so they could have for spring sell just dragged it out of storage), that’s when I got more calls, they gave me a list of defects, like 2 cup holders missing, oil leave down, list went on,I gave it to the mechanics that had looked after it and they said it’s a just away toget more money and I should have cleaned after winter storage .

I got a call from somebody that my date for pick up had changed, not from sales man, 12 hours from new pickup was canceled, they had shipped it to Barrie with half the option not on it and some option not available they had mounted the fish finder in front of the gauges, they had to change this so I had plugs in the console.

Went to but boatin water and trim at console did work, thank god mechanic found problem , first ride found trim gauge didn’t work, first time using anchor it lost it chain broke, when I try to go full throttle can’t where the fish finder is it stops me from going all the way down, no problem they have order the console they can fix it when it comes in,don’t get emails answered from owner or sales man, this is a 65000 pontoon boat, if you buy from them I wish you luck. Seats and full in closer all falling apart

2009 bayshore pontoon boat bought from legend boats in lively. I should have left it there .the beige carpet is now as black as my tires and i have tried everything to clean it even returned it to the dealer and the *** service manager wouldn't even come outside to look at it after pulling it 100 kilometers great costumer service.

he says just wash it with javex. now the complete incloser has to be redone because all the stitches are all rotten and the seats and my three five hundred dollar captain chairs are all falling apart from rotten stitches.

and legend boats couldn't give a rats *** about my thirty thousand dollar piece of scrap. I'm so pissed about this boat and there costumer service

I've heard that there are 2 happy days in the life of a boat owner - the day you buy it and the day you sell it ...

Sorry, but I don't think an 8 year old piece of equipment constantly exposed to water and sun is going to stay together long and that you may be lucky to have gotten that much service out of it.

As for the dealer, vote with your wallet and go elsewhere.

I sell boats, and I need more customers like you, especially if you think a boat is only good for eight years. My thoughts are you've bought a lot of cheap *** boats in your life. Just like most other things, you get what you paid for.

Although we have been happy so far with our Legend Bayshore pontoon boat as it is going into its fourth summer, I cannot say the same about the full enclosure we bought with it nor the registration numbers we paid extra to have put on. The canvas that the cover is made from is fine, the seams however are not.

The stitching is coming out and turns to powder if you roll the thread between your fingers. We have to get our WHOLE cover re-stitched at our expense. The canvas shop we are using says it appears that indoor thread was used or else it was of very poor quality to begin with. Our registration numbers are peeling off and curling towards the middle.

When contacted, Legend's head office referred us to the Innisfil location. They were sympathetic but said it was all due to UV rays and it wasn't under warranty. Well DUH ...It's a boat! Boats are most likely to be in full sun when they are in the water!

I have never has boat numbers peel off any other boat. One of ours is 30 years old and sits in full sun! I am shocked that Legend would cut corners in this fashion. Their products are not cheap.

Legend promotes itself as proud to produce a Made in Canada product. If better thread and better decals cost a little more, we would have willingly paid it to get quality products. This experience makes me wonder where else they may have cut corners? The seats??

The welding??? The quality of the aluminum??

Typical sales pitch

Legend Boats - Typical sales pitch

Bought a boat a the Toronto Boat Show. One of the factors that made us buy from the head office rep was the way they did the orientation on the water and not in a parking lot.

At the time of purchase back in January we decided which day, first week-end in May unless there was ice. Well after them trying to change the orientation day for us, because they had an OPEN HOUSE??? They told us this 10 days prior. Said they dont normally do on that day.

They didnt know they were doing an open house when they first scheduled our time??? they said they would do me a favor to accomadate OUR schedule. After driving 4-1/2 hours to pick-up the boat and get the orientation they tell me its not on water orientation but will be done on the parking lot??? Mother nature is to blame high water table??

could put dock in water??? I over heard someone say they never do water orientation until after the May long week-end. The salesman said no, no the only thing this year is mother nature has left too much water. After trying to get some sort of compensation for the extra distance and time spent the salesman give us his sob story about it comes out of his pocket.

He had already given us alot and felt he had done enough. He did offer the water orientation at their other office which is closer to my home (why he didnt suggest that the first time??)Its still a 1 3/4 hour drive. This frustrated my more as the salesman made us feel as if we were the unreasonable ones and its not their fault we have a busy schedule.

At that point we just wanted to leave. AS we left we came across a sign they have on their building "CARE: Customers Are Really Everyting " I didnt get that feeling.
