My reason for leaving this review is for the simple fact that the doctors do not listen to us when we asked them to do something for our son

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We took our son in there because he was having episodes of where he cannot breathe. Almost every 3030 minutes to an hour we took a man we asked them to do certain tests and then they gave us some BS answer to what it was they dont even know what it was and then I asked them to look at my sons heart just to be sure they said they dont need to.

Its fine we went to his other doctor to find out that he has *** in his heart and I told them if I find out anything else my lawyer will be up there I do not like this hospital this hospital something needs to change because we are not being listened to. They think they know everything off the bat and they dont this is happened multiple times just like with the nurse in the nick you when my son was born, my wife pills was kicking in.

I asked the nurse to come and get my son. She said she was talking give her a minute that is very unprofessional , since Ive been at this hospital has been nothing but unprofessionalism its ridiculous

Tol me, a woman alone, that I couldn't wait in the lobby for my bus at 4:30AM.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Was discharged from the ER at 4:25AM today. The first bus home was at 5:50.

The lady at the front desk of the ER said I couldn't wait in the lobby, because it is for patients and I was no longer a patient. She told me to go wait at the bus stop. At 4:30 in the morning! When people get shot in that neighborhood.

It was also too cold to stand outside for over an hour. To send a woman alone out into an unsafe situation is unconscionable.

Worst customer service ever! il w

Bad nursing judgement

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My wife had an acute sudden onset severe lower back pain the morning 7/25 around 7:30. We were directed to the triage center.

As the nurse collected info and checked her BP she noted her pressure was elevated.Upon noting a high blood pressure, she checked her BP with a larger cuff. Her pressure was lower, my wife questioned why she did that, the nurse replied, she does that all the time and knows what shes doing. My wife is a normal mid size adult. In this scenario, the patient was most likely experiencing acute hypertension related to the pain Not because of cuff size.

Instead of staying at EMC, went to an urgent care where after some further testing was found have acute pain related to passing kidneys stones. At issue: The nurse may be checking blood pressures all the time but apparently doesn't understand how to interpret the readings accurately.

If you can please contact me at dan913@***.net or at 503-819-****, there is a reason why this hospital is broke and is in the Prossess of being taken over by OHSU, legacy health is a defendant in a 28.9 million dollar med mal case with our son

I have a broken foot and leg, and they wanted me to choose between 2 options to have it cast or to have surgery, I denied surgery for the way I was treated and for being left in pain, I have been here 8 days and been told to walk on a broken foot, been told basically to have sugury or they take away pain meds. I still refused and want my leg set and cast, I was told they don’t do cast anymore now?

Then told the boot I am in is what I am going home in, and my foot nor tibia has been set in over 8 days. Going home due to denying surgery. As a patient I have the right to have my leg set and not have nurses hurt me every time they come into my room. I have a right not to be afraid at the hospital I am at.

So much my friends wrote you are safe on my board. But no one could be here for hours and watch what was going on. I have had a speech therapist sent to my room and I am here with a broken leg. I was told I could not record them and what they were doing.

I also was told I was abusing the 15mg of oxcodone and now they have in one day taken me from 15mg. To 5 mg every 6 hours. Leaving me with a broken tibia and foot. I’m in Portland legacy emanual unit 43.

I am asked to leave untreated and to be left in pain. My blood pressure at times was 180/100 and no one ever checked on me nor worried about my blood pressure, I would wake up and it would be as low as 84/67. Talk about abusing a person and leaving them in a room, I also had asked for a Cath as I can’t move and no one cared about my right leg, I have pissed my bed and had to *** in my bed.

I was told to basically figure it out or have nurses help walk me to the bathroom so they could be ruff with me. I also had a club foot in which I set myself..

Legacy Emanuel Medical Center - Medical Care Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I came in to the ER at Emmanuel with a kidney stone. My body was trembling and i was hyper-ventilating .

I couldn't breath because of the servere pain I was experiencing. I was put into a room and left there for an hour and a moaning in pain. I pushed my call button several times and was ignored. I got off my bed to go get someone because I was nauseas and was throwing up bile (3 bags), wanted a wash cloth and a blanket but passed out and fell to the floor, I had grabbed the call button on my way down.

The desk answered it after about 5 mins. I called out for help (3 times) after she answered, she hung up on me, no one came. My family finally got there and when they went to find out what was happening with me, the lady at the desk was rude and told them I would have to wait I was not their priority . My daughter ask if someone could give me something for the pain.

She said I had to wait for the doctor. I was neglected and then when I finally was helped I was harassed again by the lady from the front desk because I ask if I could have a drink of water. Called and complained, Dr. was respectful to us and we reciprocated.

Dr. Called me next day and he apologized and questioned what had happened.

He said they wanted to fix what ever was wrong on there end. I told him what happened and told him " I will never come back to Emmanuel ER again", he hung up on me without another word.

Parent of complex patient readmitted for complications of surgical error. Doctors/ residents mostly DOs meaning not smart enough for real medical school.

Suboptimal care with attitude.

These folks really should not be treating patients. Very scary stuff happening in this hospital.

Legacy Emanuel Medical Center - Customer Care Review from White Settlement, Texas

I was admitted to Emanuel leg hospital for a seizure disorder.

My hospitalist diagnosed me

With cluster type B traits. I remember nothing having little contact with dr. Kathrin Meyers, DO

During my admission. I asked for a

Ambien the two nights I was in.

My dr. Gives it to me as part of my

Medication and I was also diagnosed from her as drug seeking

Behavior. essentially she diagnosing me as A immoral behavior.

We as patients no longer have

Contact with our PCP. Who knows

Our history best..we are left to internist who pass us around like

old shoes.our Dr's our locked out

Of our care and left to the mercy

Of hospitalist. 7 day's on, 7 day's

Off. Pt. Care is being compromised.

I told my Dr.. I didn't care for the new system and it was put in my

EHR. I was made fun of by a round

Of Dr's who came into my room.

Stressing that they were the same

As my PCP. It was in my records.

Emanuel is one of the worst hospital there is in Portland. Nurses

Were nice. I did not know where the

Ambulance was taking me. If I did

I would have jumped out of it. Beware. I'm not perfect ...Beware of your medical care.

Legacy Emanuel Medical Center Customer Care Review from San Leandro, California

This place is horrible! I went in with back pain so severe the only thing I can compare it to is labor.

I was treated as if I was faking and some kind of drug addict. I had xrays done and was told that I had arthritis in my lower back and to take tylenol. The p.a. I saw was treating me like a joke and I left there in worse shape than when I arrived.

The following morning I went to see my pcp and it turns out not only do I have arthritis in my back, but also bone spurs and 2 pinched nerves. I highly reccomend anyone seeking help, especially for pain, to drive a little further to providence where at least you will be taken seriously and treated as a human!

Legacy Emanuel Medical Center - Medical Treatment Review

Came in with extreme kidney pain, waited for 5 hours before getting a room, that didnt even have any bedding. Husband had a seizure and was checked into the next room, but received no treatment because "the doctor hasnt swen him yet", even though this seizure stems from a stage 4 brain tumor.

As he yelled for help, he was repeatedly ignored by the extremeluy rude staff working that day. Not to mention the useless receptionist. All in all, we ended up leaving, with no care whatsoever, and a lingering kidney infection.

Stay away. At least if you are expecting to be helped or treated like a human being.

Bullied, Abused, Neglected By Hospital Staff

Was brought into Emanuel Hospital Emergency Room in Portland, OR where I was treated like *** from the moment I arrived. I was told I was "difficult" when I asked for some water.

I have type one diabetes (not the reason I was there), which was completely mistreated to the point where I was in acute crisis and throwing up when I got home a day and a half later. Staff were bullies and told me outright lies. I am still traumatized four months later. Dr.

Rebekha Tippetts and many of the other staff should be fired based on their actions and attitudes.

EMANUEL HOSPITAL ER- PORTLAND, OR

It seems any time I end up there I leave in MUCH worse shape than when I got there. Dr.

Tippetts is out of control and her judgment is cray cray. I have a chronic condition which is in good control on the outside. But whenever I am there, it goes haywire to point of needing to go the ER- go figure. No thanks; I left there asap and took care of it myself.

Oh and forget their patient advocate who had the gall to say "We are sorry for your 'perception' of events." I would seriously rather die than go through the medical and mental abuse I endured there.

It's a sad state of affairs when one has to recover from being in the hospital!

So... You say you have a chronic condition.... Did you call your primary care physician before wasting the er resources on your chronic condition?

The er is not a place to take care of chronic conditions like fibromyalgia or whatever you have. It is for emergencies and traumas...

Maybe you ought to go to a specialist to have your issues fixed....

Btw.... When you say a dr is, "craycray," do you think anyone will ever take you seriously? This er is the best... Except when you welfare folks decide to clog up the er staff with your asinine petty illnesses.
