I went to Suna Lee of Lee’s Photography to take maternity photos. In the initial consultation, I expressed concern about being able to afford her. After going over her price list, I was convinced that we could come up with an end product that I could afford. I also expressed concern about her session fee of $479 none of which is applied to portraits purchased later. If you take maternity photos, she will waive the session fee of $379 for newborn portraits, which seemed like a deal to me. The negotiation for the end product was tough because her price is outrageous. If this were an occasion other than my first pregnancy, I would’ve walked away. The end product cost $5,400. I can’t even imagine taking newborn portraits and potentially spending $10,000 in one year for portraits. I don’t know another “middle class” American that would pay $5,400 let alone $10,000 for pictures. I came across Suna’s flyer in Tysons I (not Tysons II) mall. Suna says that the photos are timeless and will last for generations. Photos can be destroyed (especially in a catastrophic situation) and since Suna owns the negatives and the copyrights, you can’t get the photos reproduced without going to her. This caused me undue stress in the last weeks of my pregnancy. I like the end product; however, it’s not worth the cost. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I’m not a cheap person; however, I was furious about this cost. This experience cost me more than it cost to do my nursery and more than it cost me to deliver my baby.
Lee's Photography in VA was unprofessional & a ripoff
Lee's photography in Old McLean Village in VA was extremely unprofessional & greedy !!! Was charged over 4000 dollars for a family portrait this summer that included ONLY 5 pictures ! The touch-up work ended up making us look like cartoon characters !!! She has absolutely no talent !!!! I almost cried when I saw the supposed final picture that took 3 weeks to come back . Most of all she was extremely rude , she just doesn't like to answer any questions , when I asked how come the sizes of the print were small ( 5*8) , her reply was that I can upgrade it for an add'l fee !!!! She just wants her money and cares very little about her customers !!! She kept pushing for more orders for me to place and said that I was the only customer that had such few pictures , she wanted me to spend more than the $4000 i already paid her ! I had the WORST experience of my life ! People do a thorough research before u choose a photographer !!!!!!
