Not resolved on my end. Some companies care about their customers and some don’t want to be bothered. LCEC has closed this issue on their part
The street/security light was put up for the sole purpose of lighting up the ditch and woods area in the street. We are the last house on the right, and when we leave in the morning, it’s pitch black, and when we come home, it’s pitch black. I have to get out of my vehicle to open and close our front gate and have no visibility. We have four children aged 6, 5, 4, and 2 who would like to ride their bikes or scooters down to the end of the driveway at night to help put out the garbage or get the mail.
When they installed the light on March 14, it gave such a sense of security, and for the first time, my son was able to help me bring the garbage down Monday night. On Tuesday, March 18th, when we arrived home, we noticed the light had been switched around to face our home. We called LCEC, and after long waits and hours of time taken from work, finally got through to the supervisor, Theresa, who said someone called and complained about the light, so they sent someone out to switch the light to face our house. Theresa agreed they needed to switch the light back around to how it was originally installed and told me they should have told whoever called to put up blackout curtains.
Theresa said this was our light that we are paying for, so we can do what we want with it. Theresa also said she would put a note in the account to not let anyone move this light unless they speak with me. That completed our conversation on Wednesday, March 19th. On Wednesday, March 20th, I received a message from Theresa at 12:12 PM stating they had decided to terminate our contract with them and that they were taking down the light.
She stated the same person complained that even though they moved the light, they still weren’t happy. I called today and was told there is nothing they can do; the decision has been made by top management.

Service sucks!
They came out today to fix wires in our transformer. They made the problem worse!
Also, when I called back to tell them they made the problem worse, the woman on the phone refused to help me after they had already had someone out within the hour. So she sent me off! She started asking for passwords and paperwork and being difficult. When if my house burns down, they aren't gonna pay for anything!
I had to call back to get someone else to fix the issues. Hopefully the problem will be resolved today. My Husband called twice with no issues. But when I call, they send me through the ringer?
Yeah...I hate this company and everything they stand for! They really pissed me off today!
Preferred solution: Apology
User's recommendation: Use a different company if you're able to.

Verified ReviewerHate crime, being overcharged, terrible customer service
LCEC is the worst company I've ever been forced to do business with. They came to my property on a day I wasn't home with bold authority, cut down 3 prune palm trees without ever discussing the matter with me.
My gates were locked, they cut the chains to gain access to my property then denied it was them. They also scattered rocks I paid to have organized. They claim it was because of utilities, easements and other stuff but that couldn't be further from the truth... The property was previously owned by Caucasians, there was no fence and LCEC never attempted to cut down the trees.
My white neighbors still have her palms up in Utilities easement, unlike mine hers is actually touching the power line and LCEC don't seem to mind to have hers still standing. They previously deny it was them, once they were identify as the culprit - they advised me to take my former tenant to court with the palm removal with no evidence, just hearsay.
Also, they are ripping off their customers and have over 46,000 people still in the dark while all FPL customers have powers.
I don't understand how any of that is legal for them to do. Because they have money they can discriminate, overcharged, treat people like trash with no consequences
- White neighbors palm are still up in their easement
- Terrible customer service
- Overcharge
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Do research before moving to the area, buy and rent property in FPL service areas - you won't be disappointed.

Lee County doesn’t want any potential legal costs or any more expense in the future over the light. If you are willing to take all financial and legal responsibility I’m sure they would change their mind. All you can do now is get an estimate for lighting installation on your property.
