Happy with results
I purchased two Flex-Steel leather couches,(made in China) about 4 years ago. After first year, the color, (dark brown) started fading at pressure points. This is usually a problem after many years of use. The retailer hired a specialist to re-color the affected areas in my home. However a year later, additional fading showed up on both couches and I could not afford the specialist due to high costs. I purchased a repair kit from Leather Magic. I asked questions before starting and my only real issue was the spray method. I used an Airbrush instead of the canned air that they recommend. It was about $20 at Harbor Freight Tools as I have my own compressor. This made all the difference in applying the new colorant. Leather Magic was very good about giving technical support and their instructions about prep were effective. I followed their instructions exactly and I got excellent results. The color match was like a factory finish. I have repeated the process on the same furniture two years later with similar results. Like many things, it takes patience and some skill but it is worth the effort.
Pros:
- Professional results
Cons:
- Pressurized spray system

Awesome product
All I can say is WOW! This product saved me hundreds from my leasing company. "Someone" accidentally dropped a hot ash from a cigarette on my leather seat. It left a horrible black burn, that would have cost me hundreds in fees when I turned it in. I called and spoke with Renee, who was excellent by the way. She walked me through the steps, and although they did not have a sample from my 2015 Honda I was able to send in a less than the 1x1 (required size) and they matched it perfectly. I made the repair in less than a day, turned in my vehicle, and it was never noticed by my dealer.

Leather Magic - Leather Repair Kit Review from Fort Lauderdale, Florida
I also bought leather magic repair kit but so disappointed. I followed the instructions, used sand paper as instructed and that ended up taking more leather off so i ended up with bigger repair than i started with. Finished all the other steps as instructed now the repair is peeling off. What a rip off. Now couch is really ruined. Started of with such a small dime size peel now its the size of a paper dollar note.

Leather Magic Leather Repair Kit
I bought Leather Magics Leather Repair Kit and it was garbage. The coating peeled off after a couple days. I then went to Office Depot and bought their $10 kit which worked so much better than that junk they sell at Leather Magic. Very Disappointed in your low quality Leather Repair Kit. IF you need a Leather Repair Kit that works, DO NOT buy one from Leather Magic. And then if you try to call the company they are very rude and unprofessional. I have read other complaints now about Leather Magics shady Leather Repair Products, I wish i would have known earlier that Leather Magics Leather Repair Kits are plain JUNK!!

Leather Magic refused my request
I ordered a leather recoloring kit for $49.95 so that I would have it available for touch up when needed... My 2 chairs were new and so I left the kit alone until I needed it... 2 years later I decided to touch up a couple of spots that the color had come off. When I opened the 6oz bottle of premixed colorant it was dry... Just a large brownish clump in the bottle.. I called the Company and asked them to replace the bottle only and they refused because 2 years had passed. They failed to inform me this would happen if not used in a timely manner. Very disappointed in this Company response to customers complaint...

No I disagree with the above comment. Very few people would call in to report an issue with a product "drying up" so truly awesome companies will apologize, and send a replacement.
Duracoat, a firearms finish, did this for me after the same thing happened.
My gripe with LeatherMagic is even after using the product in a timley manner, the finish came off like it was nothing ever happened....
I would think that most companies are like this. You are lucky in this economy for a company to uphold a 30 day guarantee much less two years later.
Most household paints are like this, and don't have a shelf life. I would not consider this a fair review as it is not a review on the actual use of products or a real customer service issue that could be fairly handled by both parties.
