No access to course materials and terrible customer service

AI Highlights
  • - Promised flexible timing and day-one access, but not delivered.
  • - Enrolled Nov 2024 in AHE Engineering; content not uploaded.

I have had terrible issues with Learn Direct. They advertise that their Access to Higher Education diplomas can be completed in any length of time (no minimum), and that the study materials will be available from day one.

This is absolutely not the case. I enrolled in the AHE in Engineering in November 2024 and still, they have not uploaded the content for my course. There has been no reason provided, and customer service is not at all helpful. After I complained, all I received was a complaint resolution email saying, 'Please be patient while we update our course content.' I'm sorry, but after almost four months of waiting, I should be able to make progress on my course.

It's simply shocking that an organization like this can even operate in 2025. I cannot possibly recommend them.

Unsolved with no response

Original review Mar 21, 2024

Do They first said I was eligible for a course before payment and after payment I suddenly became ineligible for the course. They wanted me to keep paying for the course as well even though I was not allowed to take it.

The Jess resolution manager is so unhelpful and annoying. Never responds to emails and is very unpleasant.

The are incompetent and refuse to tackle complaints properly. Their courses are unsatisfactory but unless they are getting your money they don't care about anything else.

Original review Sep 27, 2023
After speaking to an advisor I signed up to do GCSEs with this company. They told me I could sit exams and get qualifications at the end.

They waited until they got my first payment and then told me that I can't sit the exams because there is no exam centre beside me. I only signed up to do exams. What is the point otherwise?! They won't cancel my course and won't issue a refund.

They have lied and are trying to scam me out of money. They don't handle complaints properly, they have lies through that process too and tried to delay a refund as much as possible.

They are now refusing to refund me at all. I'm having to go to great lengths and add so much stress to my life to get this sorted.
Cons:
  • Steal and scam

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: Don't!

  • - On Universal Credit, funding for the nursing course was denied due to cost.
  • - LD asked for payment; complaints were ignored and debt collectors were involved.

No justl lots of stress and treats from debt collectors

Original review updated Jun 05, 2022
I inquire about a nursing course, that I can't pay for I've explaining to the LD sales adviser of my circumstances that I am not in employment I am receiving Universal Credit, I was told to find a suitable course the reason I am calling is to inquire about a nursing course I also mentioned that universal credit is going to be paying for the course and I need to pass all information I got from LD to universal credit, so they can make a decision about funding the payments, I was passing course information to universal credit, I took a while for an answer, then universal credit said because of the amount of money for the course they would not be able to fund it, I then got back to LD and told them the outcome from universal credit. There's a problem now LD have ignored everything I told them, they are asking me to pay for course fee I did everything, sending emails called up spoke with an adviser he said I can't cancel, but i asked for it to be cancelled far before when I realize that universal credit going to take long, and I was told by an adviser that I have lots of time before the course start it was not cancel, I even send a formal letter to make a complaint all of it was ignored, the only thing LD keep sending me is letters asking for payments, now they have sent the alleged death to debt collectors who are treating my credit I took me years to build up

Hey Jack I am informing you again that I am not going be able to make the payments myself as we discussed on the 21st of May at about after eleven in the day we spoke I told you my concern about the payment I told you that the universal credit plan to fund my course, also provide me with laptop I even inform you that the processing going to take a while you said that hopefully by the time it's ready for payments universal credit should decide, but its going to take longer because I was told by my adviser on Tuesday 25th, she said because of the amount of money the access to nursing is, it needed to be handle by the higher authority higher boss for them to make a decision it all about waiting I was not given a specific time its could be 3 weeks or 6 weeks I don't know, because of my financial difficulties at moment I don't want to be in any form of trouble for not making payments I would like my application to be on hold, And all discussion I had was recorded on 20th as you say on thats date, so you can look back and you would know who I spoke with Get Outlook for Android
