  • - Missed March 11 appointment (12–14); 17:00 promised, but no show.
  • - Water takes long to heat; concerns about Leaf Home warranty/service.
Updated by user Apr 05, 2026

During the installation they nerver told me that might be issues with a tanklees heater gas. Now they say its not a filter issue.

When they made me buy tbe most expensive one everything was fine.

I'm stuck with it. I will never buy from rmthem again and will do my best to everyone knows about it

Original review Mar 21, 2026
I had there services years ago in my old to be address. Now I trusted them one more time to install in my new address, only this time I paid in full and now I'm having some issues.

I've schedule with them to have someone in my new address that I still haven't move yet, to check why my water is taking so long to get hot. The pluming company from the construction said that might be some problem in the Home leaf instalation and to call them to check. I did that. It was schedule for March 11th between 12 and 14hs.

At 14:34 I receive a txt message from Frank Gonzales, Installation Manager, in the area of Saint Cloud, FL, saying that was a problem couldn't have someone at my address as shedule. Unfortunatly, for him, sent this to a group of others clients, that also were told the same but for different times and excuses. After mins withuot answers, I pushed for a solution and Frank Gonzales confirmed that he would have someone at my address at 17:00 sharp. One more time I drove one hour to my new address and no show!!!

I've txt him and no anwser I've called him and his voice box wa full and no message could be delivered. Them I've called 1-80*-***-****, to know what was happening, on there end, they told me that nothing was schedule, when I scalate more, I asked the 1st attendent what could be done, she told that she would an e-mail, but she doesn't have the phone of Frank Gonzales. When I inquire, why she didn't ask for my address, name and phone, she said she has that on her system, then I request her to confirm. She told me the wrong address.

She just has the old one on the first installation, things aggraveted and she just said I was being disrespectful and hanged up. I've called again, and this time a man told me the same they don't have a file on someone going to my new address, I told me since you are recording our conversation I will record ours too, he said he didn't consent and I replyed I also didn't consent to be recorded for training purposes, he said he was sending an e-mail to the manager responsable for the installation and hanged up.

So, now if anyone things of buying with The Leaf Home water System, think twice, because after you buy it, you won't have services, specially under warranty. Mr Frank Gonzales is an incompetent and I don't know how he got this position.
Pros:
  • When they want to sell they are fast
Cons:
  • When you need assistance after buying you dont have

Preferred solution: I want them to do what they promissed and have the responsable fired (installer manager).

User's recommendation: Don't ever buy, you won't have a good customer service

Dissatisfaction with your business practices

AI Highlights
  • - Quoted $198 to replace 4 filters, though only 2 were needed.
  • - Only 2 of the 4 filters were replaced; the other 2 were not left with the customer.
Updated by user Nov 11, 2024

They are a scam. Do not use this company.

Now they are trying to use words that I broke their contract. What contract? I called them asking how could I purchase cartridges for the water filter that I purchased from them over a year ago and they told me that I would need to purchase all four because they could not break a set and the service would be $198.

When they get to my house they did not deliver on what they claimed their service was. But thought I would buckle under threats of litigation.

Original review Oct 28, 2024
I called the service number to see how I could order cartridges. The guy told me that the cost was $198 for them to come out and replace the 4 filters.

I told him that I only needed 2. I was told that they do not sell them separately and that they could send them to me, but it would still be $198 for the set of 4. So, not wanting to argue with this company, I made the appointment for today, 10/28. I knew my husband would be home and I told him to make sure to watch what they were doing and to see if they changed all 4 cartridges.

Well, wouldn't you know it, they changed 2. My husband asked, 'Aren't you supposed to change all 4?' Dante replied you only need 2, the other 2 are good for 3 years. Please note, only one is good for 3 years. They did not leave the other 2 with my husband.

But of course, I am supposed to pay $198 for this service. Sirs, you will not rip me off again. And this Dante had the nerve to tell my husband that he could go online and buy the others. So let me get this straight.

You want me to pay $198 for 2 cartridges and then go online and search for the other 2 from a different company, and pay for them to complete the set that should have been given to me by your company. I'm shaking my head right now. Do the right thing, sirs.

Stop ripping people off. When you are ready to do the right thing, I will be ready to listen.
Pros:
  • No pros
Cons:
  • Scammers

Preferred solution: The 4 cartridges for the water filter

User's recommendation: Do not fall for this scam... Stay away

Buyer Beware: Leaf Home Water Softeners - Short Lifespan, Costly Maintenance

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Two Leaf Home softeners failed within 4-6 months; support gave no fix, citing a clause that changes in water void the warranty and carbon media costs $500 every 4-6 months.
Original review updated May 20, 2024

In less than a year, I had two Leaf Home Water softeners installed, each failing within months. The first stopped filtering after only 4 months, and the second one after 6 months.

Disappointed, I contacted Leaf Home for support.

Leaf Home offered no real solution. They pointed to a clause in their contract that eliminates their responsibility if the source water changes. The contract vaguely states "water conditions can and often do change seasonally" and that additional supplies may become necessary in the future. This broad wording allows them to claim my water chemistry shifted and that maintenance is now my problem.

The only way to sustain proper filtration is to replace the carbon media every 4-6 months, at a staggering cost of roughly $500 per replacement.

Essentially, if I don't continuously pump money into the softener, Im left with a $4,500 lawn ornament.

Leaf Home Water softeners clearly lack long-term durability, and their warranty seems designed to be unhelpful. Don't waste your money and time look elsewhere for a reliable water softener solution.

Loss:
$5
Cons:
  • Poor customer service

Preferred solution: They have refused to refund my money, so I simply want to ensure nobody else falls victim to the same scam I did.

User's recommendation: Use a different provider if you need a home water softening system.
