Attorney Keith Dolnick is a scam artist. He purposely whittles away at your retainer at $500 an hour and does nothing.

He will repetitively tell you he needs to meet with you about the exact same topic you already spent $1500 meeting on and in which he took zero action.

He has memory issues linked to his physical and mental disabilities that everyone in the legal community know are tied to his sleeping issues. If you sue him for malpractice be sure your attorney does discovery on his medical records, sleep studies and so forth. His lack of ability to sleep doesn't allow him proper cognitive functioning, limits his capacity to process emotions and thoughts in a healthy way and appears to impair his memory and lack of reasoning.

He has a very, very strange way about him in that he does indeed align with the opposing counsel without ever reviewing a case file or getting into the details.

HIs work product is a mess, his files disorganized and overall his is a train wreck.

Good luck getting any of your documents in an organized or reasonable manner if you even need them or move on from this poor excuse for an attorney.

He pretends he knows your case and doesn't, he does not return calls or emails promptly or at all.

He makes big leaps or assumptions without the right facts because his ego is so big he thinks he knows more than anyone else. Which is also a sign that his mind is not well and this is tied to his sleeping impairment. He may be steadily going a bit insane which has happened in cases where people cannot sleep. The body starts to react in strange ways and shuts down making a person agitated, irritable, unreasonable and like they are on drugs. Not saying he is on anything, just indicating that sleep disorders are a severe impairment and he should not be charging $500+ an hour in fees or even taking any legal cases with his disability and impairments.

The California State Bar should indeed look into all of this.

Opposing counsel generally knows he is a bozo that they have their way with. The attorney's on his low level use him to work on cases with them behind the scenes.

His MO is to spin and pocket funds and then the moment the client voices concern he methodically works to put the stereotypically blame on the client and exits while you paid for his two kids schooling, soccer events and family vacations while you have zero to show for it. He's been doing it long enough he has it figured out. In the real world this is called fraud. Avoid like the plague. His prior legal partner Brenda McCune was disbarred for similar behavior. They shared offices together and learned how to do what they do from each other.

The California State Bar should also intensely interview the law firm where he rents space from and the receptionist and related employees so that they can provide the Bar with all the client details, what the truth is behind the scenes and how he really treats clients.

Family law is typically a "once and done, "churn them and burn them" service and he doesn't care what other people think or how he treats past clients because there is always a stream of gullible and vulnerable people he can do this do. It is very sad. At the end, he will have to look into the mirror...he probably will say "I am a great dad, I coach soccer"and provided a life for my family in Orange County. He will never say he did this at the cost of other people's hearts, souls and personal earning and left most of them in more pain, financial distress and no resolution. What a legacy. Learning is optional with him. Too bad.

This is an opinion of services rendered (and not rendered from Attorney Keith Dolnick).

1. He does not return calls. As in for days, weeks and months.

2. He will suck off your retainer and produce zero work product.

3. He will not document phone conversations with opposing counsel.

4. He is all talk and not production.

5. He has a very, very, very, very bad reputation in Orange County - legal community, court employees and past clients.

6. The receptionist at the firm that fronts for him confided that he has consistent and ongoing issues with clients.

There are far better law firms at $500 an hour. You deserve quality. His past cases or his purchased "top attorney, super lawyer" advertising means zero. Eventually his unethical ways will catch up to him.

Puts client's at risk and does not care about their lives or well-being, just his self-righteousness. And, his egotistical disposition will have him blow off every bad review and blame the clients. Beware. You have been warned.

He suffers from a condition where he only sleeps a few hours a night. His medical issues negatively impact his ability to perform his job as an attorney with any level of competence.

He works out of a small corner office like a closet that he rents from another firm. No secretary, no staff, no paralegal, no admin. The receptionist for the law office in which he rents told me that Keith Dolnick consistently has people calling in looking for him and he doesn't return phone calls. He said it was an ongoing issue and there are many unhappy people.

Keith will charge you $500 while he eats lunch in front of you. Takes no notes and then doesn't do any follow-up. He will then burn through a retainer with ZERO work product.

He has a huge ego to over compensate for the fact he can't make a go at law in any real way or he'd be at a real firm. He sometimes gets subbed in to work on cases for other attorney's. He relies on a very old case on the internet as a form of advertising for him being a good attorney. Beware. It is garbage.

He will be passive aggressive with you and attempt to twist things after you catch on to the charade.

After speaking with numerous paralegals and other attorney's in orange county I came to find out that everything experience was validated. He has a horrible reputation.

In all honestly he should go be a soccer coach for his two young girls and stop being a lawyer that essentially has found a clever way to steal money from people "legally".

I went through a divorce roughly 5 years ago. My original divorce attorney retired and I was referred to Keith Dolnick. During the 9 months that he has been my 'attorney of record', I have called his office and left messages several dozen times, with no return call. I have tried to email him a dozen times with no response.

I'm not the smartest guy in the world, but when you need someone, and you are paying for him....he should be available to you at some point.

A divorce, obviously, is a painful, arduous thing to go through. This is one major time that you need an attorney that is considerate and attentive. Keith Dolnick is neither. I would suggest that anyone looking for a divorce attorney look elsewhere.

If you had a bad experience you didn't dot your "I's" and cross your "T's" or do what he told you to do. I had an uphill battle from the start.

My ex wife went through 3 attorney's because things were not going her way because of Keith Dolnick.

Needless to say he basically represented us both at the end to a fare and equal agreement. I am the father and ended up with the physical custody of my kids.

Keith Dolnick was hired by my friend, and I saw firsthand how badly he misrepresented my friend. Dolnick was negligent in every way possible: didn't return phone calls, didn't inform his client of court dates, gave wrong information, and didn't represent my friend properly in court (resulting in my friend getting a terrible divorce outcome in every way re: support, custody, visitation, alimony, and property division).

Further, Dolnick charged exorbitant fees and then overbilled for bogus charges. My friend had to hire a new attorney to undo the damage Keith Dolnick did, and the new attorney said he'd never seen such an intentionally negligent representation of a client. We will be reporting Dolnick to the State Bar for malpractice, along with the BBB.

In my opinion, he should not be practicing law. He is highly unethical.

Due to his automatic assumption of battle and fighting, his gimmicks and assumptions of conflict, he not only dragged out our case, but he harmed his own client and our children in horrible ways. He doesn't negotiate, he demands and plays games.

He also delays, badmouths, and irrationally threatens to file for "sanctions" at every opportunity. I previously thought that he was at least just fighting for his clients. Then I found out that there's only ONE thing he fights for and that is his own fees. The longer and more complicated he makes your case, the more $$$ he gets!

THAT's his motivation. We had a divorce that involved our children and complicated issues. In his final filing, he dedicated about two pages to custodial issues, and 44 pages to asking for attorney fees -- which he was denied. Yeah, he's a bulldog and doesn't back down from a fight -- but only when it comes to his own money.

If you're his client, he'll be non-committal, non-communicative and end up irreparably harming you case is so many unnecessary ways -- not to mention the relationship you'll have for the rest of your life with your co-parent. "Every dollar that goes to an attorney is another dollar that doesn't go toward your children."

I read a review on Keith Dolnick about his lack of follow up, wont return calls, wont provide statements, wont return funds on account etc. I came up with the strategy, worked around him while he disappeared and settled my own case.

I would say he is 100% about taking your $ and 0% about doing the work to resolve your case. Didn't want to know the details, wont call or return calls to apposing council etc.

This guy doesn't return phone calls or emails. Nor does he follow up on case details, filings, strategy or next steps.

He will take your money and won't do the work to get thtings done. He likes spending his time meeting with you to use up your money at $500 an hour but does not take action after a meeting or he wants to meet on the same thing again. It's a total farce and game he's playing He also pretended to have read documents and couldn't recall them trying to fake his way through a discussion.

Pathetic and unethical behavior. Would not recommend
