Review of Volkswagen Larson, Tacoma and 2009 Jetta TDI
We bought two VW Jettas in 2009. Well about 1-1/2 years ago, one of them stopped shifting. We brought the car to Volkswagen Larson in Tacoma and they did "fix" it, or so we thought. About one year later, the car stopped shifting yet again, so off we went back to VW Larson, just to be told the EXACT SAME parts were done yet again, but this time the warranty had expired, so we ended up having to pay $2700 to get the car fixed. At this point I wrote a huge complaint letter to VW and received - you guessed it - a warm "we don't give a *** about you and your two VW" and as the transmission was taken apart, we couldn't at this pint have it send somewhere else. Anyways this was 6 month ago and yes, the car just stopped shifting and we got a bill of $3000 (yes, we did go somewhere else this time as VW Larson was so NOT supportive last time) to get a new transmission in a car that is less than 6 years old, is being taken care of VERY well and has been "fixed" twice already. As I am from Germany, I am super disappointed in a) the quality of the car and b) in the pathetic thing VW calls service. W, get your stuff together!!!!
