If I could give no stars, I would. Completely not satisfied with the care that my 18-year-old received today. Appointment was made regarding tooth pain with *** in tooth, he was there for a total of 18 minutes and was let go with an appointment to come back a week later for a root canal...no pain relief at all. When he asked for pain meds were told that he could take medication OTC. Luckly I wasnt far away and arrived and started asking questions. I first asked the receptionist if he could be given something for pain and she says no. I then say, we are not looking for any narcotics all I want him to have is a prescription for 800mg Ibuprofen, she checked, and I was told no to get it over the counter. Then his assistant comes out and says that he never asked for anything for pain and I turn to the patient and he says I did and at this point the receptionist says that he did as well, she proceeds to tell me that if they wrote a prescription for Ibuprofen the pharmacist would not fill it and would tell me to get it off the shelf. At this point, I couldn't believe that she would lie to a patient in that manner so I tell her that I am a nurse and I know that he can get a prescription for that. She then goes to speak with the Dentist, comes back and says he wants to speak with yall. Once we get back in a room, the dr does come in and ask what was needed, I explain that the appointment was made because he was in pain and at this point, nothing had been done, he was leaving out the same way that he came in and wasn't even given the option to extract the tooth. I did ask about the 800mg Ibuprofen, and he replies, I don't have a problem with that. After having xrays he was told that he would be getting a root canal on next Friday when he came back, so my question to them was did you ask him if that's what he wanted and how do you know he didn't want the tooth extracted since it was causing him so much pain at this point. Nothing was explained to him, and they didn't even take the time to make sure he understood what was told to him. Needless to say, they saw an 18-year-old that they tried to take advantage of. I even said to the dr, you don't have a patient that is hurting and make an appointment because of pain and you don't even try to do anything to help that patient out. They want to do a root canal cause its more money that they can charge the insurance, however I will definitely be monitoring and waiting on the explanation of bill from today and looking for anything out of sorts. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. Imagine all the people that they miss treat and take advantage of and get away with it when no one that knows better is there to advocate for them.

Quality of work
I've been going to the Pittsboro office for a few years now, and although their fees are somewhat high, I've continued my patronage. Three months ago I had my front teeth extracted to prepare for implants. They charged me $375 for an appliance to cover the hole in the middle of my mouth, which I would have been okay with if it took me to the day of the implant procedure. After 3 months of usage - and roughly wearing it only 6 hours a week - it broke in half rendering it useless. I contacted my local Lane office to see if they could replace it, and they said "Sure, but it will cost you another $375". I asked them why they would not stand behind their work, and why would I pay again for shoddy work. I am very disappointed with the quality and support of this service, and will not return to their office.
User's recommendation: Be careful with what they are selling you, and ask up front any concerns you may have before they start.

I have been going to that dentist since 2003 and my teeth are horrible. What I have left.. Dr Mike has worked on my teeth as well as my family even filled my sons first teeth even though they were loose and fell out a week later. Did root canals on my teeth even charged delta dental twice for the same teeth he did and none of them stayed in he put a wedge in and broke a good tooth and expected me to pay and fix it also burned off part of my gum saying it would keep the crown on... well now they are all gone every root canals he worked on.. That he said I needed. I think I was his student and he practiced on my mouth. He would do work and have me sign papers after it was done they would tell me don't date it just sign paper. Started in Lillington than Fuquay Varina than angier and now Dunn went in for cleaning and the lady said I was good dr Mike checked the cleaning said it was good so I went to Carolina dentist and they told me I had a small cavity and they filled it so now we go too Carolina Dentist and they are there to help not to do fake work and bill your insurance plus they are cheaper. DELTA DENTAL SHOULD INVESTAGATE DR LANE AND ASSOCIATES FOR FRAUD
