I thought how can they do that?

AI Highlights
  • - ATM kept my card.
  • - Bank would not return it.
  • - Card was said to be destroyed.
  • - Drivers license used to verify ID.
  • - I paid $3 to use the ATM.

I forgot to tell the atm I wanted my card back after the transaction was completed. You actually have to do that with their atm.

I noticed the next day I didnt have it and went straight to the bank hoping they did. I wad relieved when they said they did but then confused when she said I cant give it back to you because you arent a customer of this bank. I had my drivers lic to prove who I was, what was the problem? I was told someone with the same name as me could claim my card and they would not be able to verify.

I was shocked. I asked what they did with it. They said they destroyed it. They didnt even offer to return it in pieces I had to take their word it was destroyed.

How someone can get away with destroying peoples personal property is beyond my comprehension. I will never pay 3 dollares to use their atm again and I will tell my story to any one who will listen. I thought about it later that they could verify by allowing me to prove that I know the PIN number.

They need to change their policy. I almost called the police because I felt so wronged.

Phone menu is a joke!

AI Highlights
  • - The card was left in an ATM after hours and on the weekend.
  • - There is no 24/7 help or automated option for lost or stolen cards from Lakestone Bank.

I believe that I left my card in the ATM. Of course I am noticing this after hours and on the weekend.

I tried calling the number for a lost or stolen credit card and there is no menu to help or get you in contact with at least an automated system. At this point a person would be nice but anything so that nobody can get into my account. I have been on the phone going through the menu for at least 15 minutes now. I called another number that they suggested and it just keeps ringing and ringing and ringing, there is no 24-hour person available.

So now I have a lost or stolen card out there floating around and Lakestone bank is not there to help me. This sucks!

Lakestone Bank And Trust - Check Deposit Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Direct deposits post as late as 4 pm.
  • - Bank blames the clearinghouse or employer.
  • - Delays affect paycheck-to-paycheck budgeting.

Since changing over to lakestone bank from lapeer county bank I have had nothing but problems with our direct deposited checks not going in our account until 4 pm. I have called at least 5 times to get this resolved and they keep passing the blame on the clearinghouse or my employer.

They are not posting it soon enough, which causes a problem, we live paycheck to paycheck and expect our money to be there earlier in the day.

Can they tell me why everyone in the company but myself gets their check first thing in the morning? Oh wait, its because they bank with someone else besides lakestone bank!

I canceled my account for the same reason. It wasn't allowing my online payments to go through.

I talked to 8 or 9 different people who all blamed various websites.

Not professional. Lake stone is a garbage bank.

Lakestone Bank And Trust - Customer Care Review

AI Highlights
  • - Charged 6x NSF fees by Lakestone Bank & Trust in Lapeer, MI.
  • - In-person staff refused a full refund, gave only half, and the account was closed.

I was charged 6x the NSF fees I should have been charged by Lakestone Bank & Trust, formerly Lapeer County Bank & Trust, in Lapeer, Michigan. I went in and tried to get out straightened out.

The lady finally went and got her boss, a fat greasy bald headed lady named Louise that refused to give me my money back. She talked down to me and treated me like I was ***. She finally gave me half, but that was still unacceptable.

I closed my account. Please beware of this horrible scam bank.
