Fell in shower at home; 10 stitches on forehead, also tested positive for Influenza A. Now in a lot of pain. Eyes bruised & swollen, pain is on left side of head.
- - Day 5 with severe pain; tried Tylenol, ibuprofen, and migraine med.
- - ER gave morphine before stitch; staff excellent.
- - Pain meds limited; injections only.
Today is day 5. Bad pain.
Tried Tylenol, ibuprofen, and my migraine breakthrough medicine. The hospital gave me morphine before stitching. I didn't ask for anything. I must say the ER Dr & staff were excellent!!
Now I need pain relief ! Called my pain mgmt Dr, also thru Lakeland Regional, and was told he doesn't prescribe pain medicine, only injections. People don't want me in their office with the flu and I don't have the strength. I was told to call my primary Dr, also thru Lakeland Regional.
I'm not calling anyone else because they'll think I'm drug seeking. What happened to " first, do no harm?". Wait til you see my pictures. This is a disgrace and shame on the whole healthcare system as far as aftercare is concerned..
period . So afraid to give some medicine for pain because there's an epidemic.
I don't have a splinter in my finger !!! My God, My God, my whole face is in pain.
