Unsatisfied patient
After waiting five hours still no diagnosis. Could save time by doing labs while you wait in waiting room for almost three hours.
Colonoscopy with removal of polips
It was scheduled as an outpatient procedure. I was scared to death.
My grandma had colon cancer at 40 and I am 40 and that's what they are looking for. When I arrived, everyone was extremely friendly. The procedure was on time. They registered me right away and took me back within 10 to 15 minutes.
I was very embarrassed having to wear a gown knowing wear they were placing they scope (colonoscopy) but they made very comfortable. The doctor and nurses were wonderful. When I woke up my Pain was well controlled. They doctor took the time explained all the findings.
They kept my mother updated threw out the entire procedure. As soon as I was alert enough, they discharge me home.
Definitely will go back. Thank you
Wrong diagnoses
brought wife there for belly pain, they said Urania infection ,wife fly home for a few days ends up in hospital with emergence surgery ,not anything to do with infection , she had to have part of here colon taken out ,could have been bad for her ,and went thru thr great pain ,you missed this ,take more time to make sure what is wrong with person coming in ,workers were very polite and did a good job but the nurse practitioner missed the real problem of what was going on,or lab got it wrong ,i hope you do better in the future ,as the crew doing the work before diagnoses was very good
Lake Wales. Florida Medical Center is a Rip-off
Lake Wales. Florida Medical Center is a Rip-off Waymon Ellis Meadows My granddaughter had an appendix taken out and was bill $ 100,000.00.
I had an MRI procedure on my arm, which took a few minutes, and it cost over $ 4,000.00. Here is an example for an MRI: Price health insurance prior to getting your procedure and save. MRI cost can range between $400 to $3,500 depending upon which MRI procedure is performed (example: brain mri vs. shoulder mri) and where you have the MRI test performed The price should have been $ 400.00 instead of $ 4,000.00.
It cost me about $ 260.00 out of my pocket. My insurance paid the rest so why worry about it? Because it was wrong.
I was charged the price of a brain scan, not an arm scan. But what does an oceanarium know?
Lake Wales Medical Center - Medical Care Review
Was left in er for hours without a call light the call light didnt even work in the cubical i was in. I wasnt given any lunch i had been there since around 9am i am a brittle diabetic had to call my Dr in order to get pain meds i basically was held against my will due to the fact call light did not work and bedrails were up i had to call my husband out of work so he could come to hospital to let me use restroom and to eat walked out ama and i took video the bp monitor wasnt connected to me for the last three hours i was there because it kept popping off and no one would come and fix it
Very Rude Doctor
I took my wife in for sharp, acute pain in the lower right side of the stomach. There was a Hospice nurse present that told us to go immediately to the ER.
The doctor, Dr. Jasimuddin Sheikh, said it was constipation and gave her some kind of laxative to drink and sent us home. Two hours later, the pain was extremely worse. We went back to the ER because another RN insisted that we go immediately.
Dr. Jasimuddin wanted to know why we came back. He was extremely rude, saying there was nothing wrong with her, only anxiety, because her father was dying. When taking a second CAT scan, they saw that it was worse, not constipation, but a blocked colon.
A second doctor came into the ER, explained what was going on and admitted her to a room. Later Dr. Iszak came in and explained that the colon had twisted. Dr.
Silvestri wanted to do surgery immediately, but due to the death of her father, they tried a different approach, which is only temporary. All of the other doctors and nurses that we encountered were extremely nice.
She made the funeral just fine thanks to the rest of the staff. We will be turning Dr Jasimuddin into the medical board for lack of knowledge and very rude attitude.
Preferred solution: We should not have to pay for the first visit to the ER.
Lake Wales Medical Center Colonscopy Procedure Review
I had my first colonscopy there this year. I was petrified; however, the procedure went amazingly well!
March 8 of this year 2016..I had my gall bladder removed. Both were done as an outpatient . I was so thrilled with both!
The doctors and nurses were very nice and proficient.
I highly recommend this facility!
Doctor Without Manors
On January 17, 2015, I arrived at the Lake Wales Medical Center at 12:48 a.m. with my son, after waiting to be seen I was taken back to triage to be assessed by a nurse.
The symptoms that I stated were as follows: Itchy and inflamed eczema, swollen glands in neck and sore throat, achy body, hurting right ear, congested sinuses, and headache. I also disclosed preexisting medical conditions: Diastolic heart failure, pre-diabetic, and high blood pressure. I also disclosed what medications I take daily to maintain these conditions. I had started to get symptoms two days prior.
I was placed in ER 12 and waited for the doctor to come in to assess my complaints. The attending physician was Dr. Jasmimuddin Sheikh. When he came in, I was sitting on the bed, he asked who the patient was (I was on the bed). He was not warm, he did not smile, he did not say hello, and he did not introduce himself or ask me what my name was. This doctor possesses a horrible bedside manor. I know this is emergency care, the emergency was not busy and many of the rooms were empty on this slow night. It was urgent enough for me to come in at 12: 48 a.m., I could not take the pain any longer. I do not enjoy paying $200.00 for a co-pay for an ER, so I weighed my options before I set out for the ER.
He asked me what was going on with me. He did not read the preliminary information as to why I was there, I assume. I told him again, what was going on with me. He immediately said that my eczema was not an emergency. As I explained, the other conditions that were going on, was inflaming my eczema, as that point, my skin was cracked, unable to keep moisture, burning, itching, swollen, seeping, and hurting. Usually, when I have an illness existing, it comes out through my skin aggravating my eczema.
He checked my throat and ears, he said they checked out fine although my glands were swollen, my throat was sore and my right ear was hurting. He asked me who my doctor was, when was the last time I saw him, and begin to ask me what he did about it. Then he asked other questions and told me about seeing a skin doctor. He was lecturing, that was not his place. I do not need anyone talking to me like I am a child, I am 41 years old and I know how to conduct my business here on this earth. During the time when he would ask these questions, he would cut me off. I could not hardly get an answer out before he was talking over me. He did not listen to me at all.
I wanted him to check out my other symptoms that had me feeling horrible, he was still focused on my eczema, he still continue to lecture me and cut me off when I tried to retort as to why I came in the first place. This was insulting and irritating. When my blood pressure was taken, it was 142/80 at the hospital, when I came home and took it was 193/89, he upset me a lot. When he finally got down from his metaphorical soap box, he I could get a steroid cream over the counter from the store or at best, he would prescribe me one. What about a nasal swab? What about an oral swab for my throat? What about looking into my nostrils to see if there is irritation or inflammation? He did nothing!
I told him usually, when I have come when it became bad enough, (note, during this time I was talking he was talking over me and not listening) the doctor checked out my complaints and took cultures or swabs to test what was going on.
As I write this, my head is pounding, my throat is scratchy, I am coughing up mucous, and I can hardly turn my neck from side to side. I concluded by saying even after all that was taken for testing, I would be given a cortisone shot, and given prednisone to help jump start my recovery in conjunction with antibiotics, and this has been for the 10 years where I have had ailments and has come through my skin. He offered the antibiotics; I told him I wanted relief! He took off his gloves and walked out the room.
I followed him to ask why he would do that. I went to the nurse’s station, he was telling them that I refused his scripts and that I was walking out. I did not say I was walking out. He turned to look at me, I replied that I did not say anything about walking about I just came to get your name. He turned and look at me then walked into a room further back into the area.
I do not appreciate being treated like a child, as if I was drug seeking, and being lied on; one of the worst experiences I have had at a hospital emergency room. I am extremely insulted. I will be escalating this complaint against this doctor definitely.
The nurse there (did not get her name) printed out discharge papers, per Dr. Jasmimuddin Sheikh’s lie that he told on me and she came over to me with it. She said that he said that you were going to leave out. I told her again that I didn’t saying anything about just leaving, but I am now. Then I exited the hospital. In addition, this is not the first time that my insurance information was not taken, I have private insurance.

Misdiagnosed and harassed
My name is Jessie Holmes and I went to the hospital in Lake Wales, FL. (Lake Wales medical center) due to back pain caused by the two bulging disc's in my back, I was seen and sent for an ex-ray, when I was done a doctor then approach my wife and I to tell us that he found fluid around my heart that I could have a heart attack and that they need to keep me there at the hospital.
Scaring my wife and myself half to death, I'd never had a heart problem in my life. Immediately after he said it I thought I could feel a pain in my chest, I couldn't tell if it were my back or my chest any more he scared me so bad!!! After monitoring me all night with no dinner, I might add, two nurses entered the room. they performed a sonogram I think it was, where they rub a jelly on you then use a ball almost like a computer mouse to look at your insides.
After they finished taking my temperature and everything they got ready to leave so, I asked them if I were dying (jokingly) and they told me that they couldn't find a thing wrong with me no fluid around my heart, my vitals were great and everything, but they said to wait an see the Doctor anyway. A few hours later the Doctor shows up, looks at my chart, looks at me. An without so much as a word to me he begins to leave, so I stopped him and related what the two nurses had said, he just turns then he walks out of the room still saying nothing to me. I watch him talking to my nurse and leave, when she came into the room she wasn't acting as if I were about to be released, so I asked her if they were letting me go home she said no, that the Doctor had ordered a stress test instead.
An that meant staying another night there, because the machine wouldn't be available until that afternoon. By then I had had enough, and felt like they were trying to pad the bill. They had not done a thing for my back, but the watered down morphine they gave me stopped my pain. I started to pull the I.V's out of my arm myself as I told the nurse that I was leaving, she stopped me saying she'd do it, but that I had to sign something saying I was leaving.
The very next week I get a bill for twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00).
I didn't get dinner, nor my own room or suite, not even a spa for $20,000.00.

Refused to evaluate/ refused to transport
A nurse at Intreuim Heath Care service accidently cut the PIC line that pumped medicine to a heart transplant recpients heart. I don't exactly know if the nurse put her all into seeing that the mistake she made was taken care of, or if she knew or the severity of this issue.
Lake Wales Medical Center refused to see the patient twice, the EMS were called and given the details of the situation before even arriving at the patients home. Once there they did not take him to hospital because it was said no doctor was on duty at that time, EMS supervisor was spoke to about the situation, and results were that they ca not take a patient from county to county. The question was asked not even in the event of an emergency, and answer was NO. Supervisor also said because patient had no doctor at Lake Wales or Winter Haven hospital he could not be transported.
The fact being stressed that the patient is suppose to have this medication being pumped to his heart at all times or it could possibly stop!
Was not a medical emergrncy in their eyes......there is more.
This could happen to any of us so not having a car or a doctor could really cost our lives! What do you think?

For your information doctors don't have "manors," they have manners.
Your condition shouldn't have gotten so much worse in a few hours that you couldn't have went to a doctor earlier than you did. Emergency rooms aren't meant for menial illnesses.
Last September I had to be taken to the ER by ambulance and I laid in the emergency room for more than 2 1/2 hours before a doctor came in to see me, after which I was admitted to the hospital and had surgery the next day. The paramedics started an IV in me while we were still in the parking lot of the apartment complex that I live in.
I got to the emergency room the middle of a Sunday afternoon, and it was midnight before everything was done and my family could go home for the rest of the night. IF you were really as miserable as you say, you should have made arrangements to see your regular doctor sooner than you decided to go seek medical attention.
