07/01/2023-07/03/2023 Amt paid 1823.77 not to mention the other monies paid for food, drinks and amenities at the hotel. This is concerning a health issue not taken seriously.

So my husband and I stayed July 1 through July 3 on the seventh floor. When booking, my husband let someone know that I have a severe gluten allergy. I have been accommodated many times there before without incidence. Once we arrived I notified the lady who met us at the entrance door that I have a gluten allergy.

She said I noticed that on the reservations. We went upstairs to the seventh floor and the gentleman there at the concierge checked us in. Again, I mentioned to him I had a gluten allergy. The next two evening hors doeuvres were served at five.

I was not informed what foods I could eat so I proceeded to eat cheese, strawberries, and Snickers candy bars. Those were my only choices that I was aware of that was safe food for me. Monday evening I chose to eat Planters tropical fruit and nut mix that was offered on the food bar. Later that evening I became very sick and started to have a horrible reaction that continued into the next morning and throughout the rest of the day.

After we got home I started tracing back and checking labels on what I had eaten. Sure enough there was wheat listed on the Planters fruit and nuts. La Cantera is lacking in the guest relations department. I felt like my request were ignored and that I was not taken seriously of my gluten allergy.

I am fortunate we didnt have to call 911. When you know a guest with a true allergy is staying at the hotel, one should make it the upmost importance of taking care of that guest. This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel and we expected much more then what we received. I am hoping that LaCantera will make this right.

We paid for a luxury hotel and accommodations and we are very disappointed in this stay. My reviews will be pending on the outcome of this circumstance.

We would like to be reimbursed. Dixie Johnson Kolarik

How dumb can you be to just eat something sitting on a bar if your allergy is that sensitive? The person that needed to know about your allergy was any waiter that took your food order. Any other food you needed to ask.
