After complaining to the Malaysian Medical Council as well as to the Malaysian Ministry of Health, I received a letter from the hospital containing, without surprise, a number of false claims including the fact that verbal apologies had been extended to me at the hospital, that everyone from the receptionist to customer service to the doctor who treated me behaved professionally, and that I should put the blame on myself instead. What else?....Clearly, these people are in complete denial totally rejecting accountability.
They don\'t want to admit it that they failed to meet even the minimum of service quality. LOOSERS!

I made an appointment at KPJ Ampang Puteri Hospital in Kuala Lumpur to see a cardiologist as I was feeling an abnormal beating of my heart. They assigned Dr. Thiru Navookarasu Muthusamy whom I saw on Wednesday, June 20th 2012. He made me embark on a number of different tests and asked me to return for the results. However, the following day, even though the results were ready the doctor was not available. His assistant asked me to return, again, the next day in the morning anytime before 12:30. I did follow her instructions, but again, the doctor was not in his office. She called him and he asked her to speak to me on the phone. He said that everything was normal but I insisted on seeing him personally as I thought it was my utmost right to hear a thorough explanation not to be communicated on the phone. He then said that if I needed to see him in person, I had to return the following day at 10:00 am. Noticing that I was being disregarded and overlooked and my health was being neglected, I asked his assistant to seek the help of another cardiologist who could interpret the results for me as I was extremely worried, but she failed to bring anyone. I felt abandoned and extremely disturbed and frustrated. The situation reached such an appalling extent that I decided to speak to a customer representative. Rather than showing immediate concern and empathy, they told me that the conversation would be recorded! I requested a refund and a repossession of my medical file since I was planning to go to another hospital, but they only refunded my money and asked me to pay for the medical file. Since then, I have never hear back from them. It clearly appears that there was an obvious mismanagement issue (inconsistency in dealing with patients and failure to make proper appointments); a hazardous neglect, a lack of liability and ethical conduct from the cardiologist's part since he failed to deal with me in a humane way; and a lack of awareness of the severity of the issue since not only did they fail to provide me with the medical care worth the RM914 (USD300) I had paid, but they also failed to apologize, and on top of that they refused to confer my medical file. In sum, I've been deprived of my right to adequate health care as the procedure was cut half through and the most important step was missed out, my right to be informed of my health status, my right to redress and remedy as the problem has only been partly solved, and my right to service as I didn't receive adequate customer service one would normally expect after paying RM914. I am now still uninformed about the underlying cause of the abnormal heart beats, nor do I know the nature of the medical condition.
