Kolbe k-kron windows rotting

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

In 1999 i purchased over 50 windows for my home. Since that time I've had the glass spontaneously break.

The kolbe repair technician told me there was a problem with the argon gas (which I paid extra for) and it cause glass breakage. The solution was drill tiny holes in the glass to release the gas and expoxy it over. Then the rotting began. Less than 10 years after the installation the sill on two windows started to rot I have had to remove the rotted wood and use an epoxy to repair the rot.

The paint the windows (cant get a match to the k-kron finish to save my life). And now more than half the windows have rotted in the same fashion. The k-kron finish is intact but the wood rots underneath it. I have a color that is now discontinued and this summer replaced one window for $1000.00.

Kolbe wont even answer my correspondence. I have read numerous complaints about the same problem with many of their customers with these windows. Kolbe produced a defective product and the consumer has had to pay for it.

The ironic part was the dealer suggested I replace all the windows with another kolbe product! Not happening!!
