Good Sales Job, Mediocre Work, Vicious Collections Tactics
- - Two slab leaks; Kirk was personable, but theft and dishonesty accusations arose.
- - After payouts, collections began and bills remained confusing.
Your experience was similar to mine. I had two slab leaks, and Kirk had me coming back because he was so personable.
I will now say that the subcontractors were hit and miss. Some were good, others were terrible. But once the final insurance payouts were made, the gloves came off. In spite of the fact that I was out of commission due to a traumatic brain injury, collections efforts began and they were nasty.
I received multiple accusations of dishonesty and one of outright theft from Kirk and his cheerleading women. (I had asked the insurance company to pay contractors directly, and so was keeping back tworelatively small payments whose ultimate disposition had me confused.
Once clarified, they were immediately paid to Kirk.) The bills still have me confused, and I will be asking for help in deciphering them. I am now somewhat suspicious.
Worst Contractor Experience Ever
- - KNC Contracting is incompetent.
- - Roof repairs worsened leaks.
- - Had to hire another contractor.
- - KNC sued for payment in small claims.
KNC Contracting is completely incompetent. Absolutely the worst contractor I have ever had the displeasure of working with.
KNC attempted to repair my roof, and only made the leaks worse. I was forced to hire another contractor to correct KNC's terrible repairs, only to have KNC take me to small claims court to collect money for work that had to be replaced. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Read other reviews on this company - their sub-contractors are a joke.
They came to complete roof repairs, and had to borrow my ladder and tools. Seriously?
I never would have used this company, but my insurance company recommended them. STAY AWAY!!!

Kirk is great - subcontractors are not.
- - Kirk is friendly and efficient; subcontractors did poor work and needed re-dos.
- - Paint job was terrible and not redone; project ran longer than planned.
From a personal standpoint, Kirk is fantastic. Friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, his subcontractors do poor work, despite being asked (and supposedly) re-doing several projects upon Kirk's request. We had wood floors and tile put in our house which included a fair amount of work on the floor/toe boards and repainting. The floor boards do not look great, but not horrible. The paint job is TERRIBLE. It looks worse than before and we requested that they re-do the painting and it was never done to satisfaction. At this point, we don't even want the contractors in our home anymore and would rather pay someone else. The project was also supposed to take 3 weeks and it ended up expanding to 2.5 months.
We also had a few items that were accounted for incorrectly on the invoices but this was easily reconciled without a problem. Seemed like an honest mistake/miscommunication as the project kept evolving.
Contractor Fraud
- - Contractor charged for work not performed and billed duplicate items.
- - KNC did flood remediation and we paid; reconstruction billed same items again.
Mesa contractor tried to invoice for work that was not performed, and also invoiced for many items in duplicate.
We had a flood and KNC performed the remediation process. We received the invoice for the remediation and paid it in full.
After the reconstruction process, the contractor invoiced again many of the same items as were billed in the remediation.
Numerous attempts had been made to request the contractor to correct the invoice with no success.
We have provided very detailed proof to KNC including remediation invoice and cancelled checks that his invoice was inaccurate.
The company appeared credible at the onset, yet later found them to try and rip off the customer.
- Dishonesty
