Replacement Parts on backorder for 2 months
I bought the 13 cup KitchenAid food processor with the dicing kit. It is a good machine, but unfortunately, the lid fell on the floor and broke the latch.
The bowl was also damaged. I ordered both parts directly from KitchenAid since I cannot find either anywhere else. I received the bowl within a reasonable amount of time, but the lid is another story. I placed the original order on 8/8 and am still waiting for the lid.
I have called and emailed KitchenAid and I keep getting answers that are scripted, saying that the part is on backorder and no one can tell me how much longer I will have to wait for it.
They say that it will take 4-6 weeks to get the replacement, but I am now in week 8 and still waiting. Has anyone else experienced this?

As a residential builder, I purchased two top of the line panel ready dishwashers for my own custom dream home approx. 9 years ago.
After only 5 years I noticed that my primary dishwasher was leaking from the tub. I was shocked by this revelation as it nearly caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage to my home. After haggling with Kitchen Aid I paid a discounted price to replace the unit. However, In the past three years I have had a certified technician make the same repair on my door links mechanism on the replacement dishwasher every year for a total of 4 times, approximately once per year.
The last service technician indicated that the door mechanism will continue to fail no matter how many times it is replaced. That is when I contacted Kitchen Aid customer service who offered absolutely no assistance. I have always considered Kitchen Aid to be a premier company but after my bad experiences I can no longer recommend any kitchen aid appliances as you DO NOT STAND BEHIND YOUR PRODUCTS. My next step is to contact the Consumer Product division of the U.S.
Dept of Consumer Affairs to advocate for a recall of this dishwasher as no one should be subject to such poor quality from the Kitchen Aid Co.
