Good product but POOR website and POOR delivery of purchased newsletters

In the wake of COVID19 and the U. S. Mail delivery of Kiplinger Newsletters now taking one to two weeks, as a 20+ year customer, I have tried to go electronic with my subscriptions but I don't believe I've seen a more difficult website to navigate to set these up. The customer service phone line is useless as well. After 20+ years with Kiplinger, I'm calling it quits.. just cancelled my newsletters.

User's recommendation: If you can get account set up and that works, fine. Good luck changing anything in the future.

Adjust address

I needed to add a number to the address but it was too early for them to see the order in the system

User's recommendation: Need to wait one week before customer service can see your order online.

Received notice today that my Kiplinger's subscription was about to expire

I sent payment in with check (PNC Check No 2383 Dated November 26, 2018). last month. Check cleared the bank last month. Today I received a notice that my subscription with a better offer was about to expire. Date on magazine indicates expiration date is April 2019. Was my payment ever posted??? This is too long for my payment to be posted with the pressure on printed material these days. What incentive does have to sent in their payment when later offers are better? Magazines always want you to re-subscribe at a high rate and tend to send you special renewal rates, etc. soon after you renew.

In your case, go to the Kiplinger website and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click on the "customer service/contact us" link. From there you can check the status of your subscription and see if your payment was received. Looks like your check and the renewal notice crossed in the mail. For your info, it is usually never a good deal to renew from the renewal notice you receive from the magazine as that rate is far too high.

For example, Entertainment Weekly sends a renewal notice for a one year sub for $45. If you go to their website, you can get a new sub for $20 for one year or $29 for two years. The only downside is that they do the "automatic renewal" scam and require a credit or debit card online. Let your sub run out and they will send you an offer of a new sub for a much lower rate than if you renewed while still an active subscriber.

The other scam magazines like to pull, like Consumer Reports, is to send you an old issue to start the sub, even tho you may have used the subscription card in that issue. Tricky.
