Lack of Integrity

We were referred to Kingdom Construction by a very close family friend, who had positive experiences with them and used them for a few major renovations and came highly recommended. Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing and took an even wilder turn than I had expected.

We were trying to get estimates on a backsplash in our kitchen.

I communicated our need for a quote and a report on a previous contractor's poor work as we were working through an insurance mediation.

My wife initially had difficulty contacting Kingdom and experienced a lack of responsiveness. They finally contacted her and informed her they would arrive at my house within 10 minutes (while she was at work in the middle of the day). As I recently underwent back surgery, this sudden situation presented a challenge and considerable stress. I wouldn't be able to get someone here to help.

However, I would say I appreciate their prompt response and would prefer this level of responsiveness from other contractors.

Upon first interaction, the experience felt a bit mixed. One of the representatives was standoffish and dismissive and seemed like he wasn't interested in my business or being in my home from the beginning. I guess I would later find out why. Either way it was very off-putting.

The other individual was personable, friendly, and knowledgeable.

He also shared his thoughts and insights on the project to help me understand more comprehensively possible ways to correct it that wouldn't cost much money. I honestly thought it was productive.

After some conversing, they both verbally conceded on-site that the work performed by the preceding contractor fell below industry standards and would need to be replaced entirely, although I recall that had another suggestion.

This is the same level of assessment that other professionals have made. This provides context and establishes the credibility of acknowledging a material fact, which is crucial for determining liability and ensuring a fair resolution for the customer.

I explained that although we must proceed with corrections, we don't know when, with whom, or how. The details are still being worked out as part of the claims process.

Despite a seemingly optimistic initial interaction on moving forward with some possible options with Kingdom, we received an unexpected text message stating that Kingdom Construction was no longer interested in working with us and would not provide an estimate.

They did not give a reason for their decision.

I posted a review of my interaction as is my right and something I do of every business I internet with (I have 14,510 contributions on Google with a combined 126 million views).

Kingdom's response was insulting, frivolous, and even more repulsive.

While I can understand the desire not to get caught up in a potential insurance or contractor dispute, they did not state that as such. Instead, their responded with, "There is no insurance claim. That is false. We have seen people do this kind of thing, and we decided not to work with you." Furthermore, Kingdom states, "We decided not to participate in your scheme."

They called us liars and that we are simply in the business of ripping people off (the other contractor was paid by the way)., as if defending poor quality work could substitute for integrity or a guarantee of their own services.

They mention they've seen this before, so they likely had a job where they ripped off a customer and they attempted to use means legally provided to then to check the poor quality work? It's just so odd.

This statement is erroneous, based on misguided pretenses and prejudice. Kingdom Construction asserts that our claim is false without providing any material facts or evidence to support it. When, in fact, the day prior, they looked at the job site itself and, again, acknowledged the level of negligence on the part of a prior contractor.

They claim that we are liabless and defamatory, yet they are the ones making such ridiculous accusations.

Is this how they respond to all their customers?

This highlights a lack of professionalism, customer service, and a disregard for integrity on the part of Kingdom Construction (all of which are exceptionally important in building trust with customers).

They even texted my wife, threatening legal action once we indicated we would post a review. I am certainly not concerned about frivolous litigation and empty threats.

The fact that they went that far instead of attempting to resolve any potential misunderstandings suggests that they should not be in business and should be avoided at all costs.

It's good that Kingdom Construction decided not to do business with us, as is their right, but we also have the right to share our experiences as consumers.

Based on our experience, we cannot and will not recommend Kingdom Construction to any of our family and friends based on this wild and speechless experience.
