Randomly closes the shop

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Their website and Google say they are open Mon-Fri 7:00-4:00. Just stopped by to try and buy a pallet of sod, but they were closed (its Monday, no National or state holiday).

When I posted the above on another review platform, the owner had a visceral response, claiming I was an idiot for trying to buy sod on a Monday. I was just trying to order it, but that's OK, there are certainly plenty of other options to buy sod in the area that actually have decent customer service.

This person is nasty and should not be dealing with the public

We tried to return an empty pallet the other day. He came out screaming at us telling us to get the F..k off his property.

The funny thing is he was nice when he was trying to get our $350 cash for 500 sq ft of sod. There is something mentally wrong with this man and he needs to sell his business and live far from people. I feel sorry for his family.

There are plenty of landscapers in Lee, Charlotte and Collier County. Don't subject yourself to NASTY business owners who only want your money, not your business.

Very unprofessional

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Don’t anybody waste their time with that piece of garbage Not only rude and vulgar towards me. It almost got to the point of calling the Police.

I thought as the customer I should get my pick of the sod I want.

I was going through his sod obviously trying to take the best pieces. According to him it doesn’t work that way You start from the top and work your way down Sorry don’t want your broken brown garbage on top. Find another sucker you can pull that on to sell your trash Then after some words. I told him I don’t want his sod and he can take it back.

Then he tried to pull his games it’s on your truck it’s yours All sales are Final!!! I might’ve agree to that if I wasn’t still on his property. I made it quite clear I wasn’t taking it so he better call a cops or I would. The look on his face was priceless and agreed quickly.

Makes me think the cops of been there more than once Bottom line he’s very unprofessional.

Speaks to people like dirt. Then became very childish telling me I should go back to New Jersey I can’t tell people what to do Don’t waste your time or money And then threatened me I better never see you on my property again.

Owner is disrespectful and unprofessional

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

July 2018

During my 5th visit, he (I later learned this was the owner) snapped and accused me of stealing - in front of my son. Previous 4 visits were uneventful even though he was not very pleasant.

Don't give this company or "man" your business. He flipped out and referenced a past conversation between him an I that never happened. He disrespected a US War Vet who clearly a first time customer. His account of the details is way off.

Preserve your self-dignity and do not subject yourself to this. He claims he is willing to help anyone with loading if needed. He walks around with his phone and never gets his hands dirty. Probably wants his hands clean to accept your payment.

For you IRS folks out there, he offers tax-free deals if you pay cash.

Wink Wink.

Try Battista Farms in South Fort Myers. They actually appreciate the customer.

Complaint

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I went to KIng Sod today 11/3/2017 to get 12 Sods for my yard. My first time being there.

I parked and got out of my van and there was a man next to a truck with the company shirt on. I asked him if this was...and before I can finish my question, He Started yelling at me.."MY OFFICE IS OVER THERE". I just froze.. I asked him why was he yelling at me?

he then again yelled" GET THE *** OUT OF MY LOT YOU CUBAN {{Redacted}}. I told him, I am not Cuban. I am American.. He continued to yell at me...

I just got in my car and cried all th way home. I do not know if he had a bad day or what, but that is not the way to treat people.. I have lived in Cape Coral for 18 years and I have never been treated by anyone lke that, because I do not treat people like that.

I treat people like I want to be treated. Bad experience.........

Dont' Use King Sod

Called them for a small job (2 pallets) -- they said they didn't do small jobs like that (went on about how big a company they were, blah blah) but that I could hire one of their guys to do a "side job which I did. The two pallets were $450 plus I paid the "side job man" $200.

After it was finished, I pointed out that quite a bit of the sod (between 15 and 20%) looked to be in real bad shape -- practically dead. His response was that this was "fresh sod" and said it was fine and would green up real quick. A week later, it was considerably worse.

I called King Sold who basically said "too bad", this was too small a job for them to take seriously and went on again about how gigantic their company was. Unbelievably unprofessional!

No Issues- Great Company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I read review and checked Lee County Clerk of Courts. It turns out that they are the plaintilff -suing unpaid jobs.

I also checked them out with the Better Business Beaure. King Sod is an A+ rated company. I hired them back in Feb of this year and I am happy to say that I have the prettiest yard in my neighborhood. I have since referred them to my parents.

I found out that they do irrigation work.

My parents had them revamp their system . They were surprised with how affordable the job was and the finished results. Thanks King Sod.

Owner failed to keep his agreement

Owner of sod company refused to keep agreed contract price and terms despite the fact that nothing in contract or job had changed. Said he would only do partial work until FULL payment was made.

Attempts to negotiate a solution directly with the owner resulted in insults and removal of partial materials included in contract. Almost unbelievably owner made verbal threats during the discussion without provocation.

Owner was unprofessional and fired an employee on job in front of customer and family.

Use caution prior to contracting with this company. Check lee county court records first. This business has several pages of court actions against it.
