Lack of support

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Never received either order; first was refunded.
  • - The second order shows a photo with no proof.
  • - They won’t refund $77 and have no phone support.

I ordered twice and never received my order. The first time there was a refund; the second time they sent me a picture as if it was delivered.

I've never received my order. In the picture, there is no proof that the package was placed anywhere, just a general picture. Second time, there is a problem with their courier FedEx. Now they don't even answer my emails.

They don't want to refund my order. I am never going to buy anything from Kiko ever again. Also, they take a really long time to reply back, if they do, to the emails.

There is no phone number for Kiko USA customer service. I'm very upset; I want my $77 back.

Loss:
$77
Pros:
  • Nice products
Cons:
  • Lack of post service support
  • Unable to speak with a live customer support agent
  • Take too long to reply an email

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: Do not order online from Kiko Milano

Discrimination of Skin

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Discriminatory exclusion at Nairobi model casting for Kiko Milano.
  • - A Kiko Milano rep dismissed me for skin texture; I request internal review.
Updated by user Apr 16, 2025

Update: KIKO Milano has since reached out and is handling this with great care. I appreciate their professional response and look forward to the outcome

Original review updated Apr 16, 2025
I am writing to formally report a discriminatory experience I had during a model casting/preparation session at SG Restaurant in Two Rivers Mall, Nairobi, in connection with an upcoming fashion event scheduled for April 26th, 2025.
Kiko Milano was present at the fitting as the official makeup partner for the fashion show. During the session, I was introduced to a white male representative associated with Kiko Milano presumably tasked with overseeing or contributing to the selection process for models.
Immediately following my introduction to this individual, my friend (one of the event organizers) was pulled aside and informed that I would not be participating.

I was then thanked for my time and dismissed without any direct communication or explanation from the Kiko Milano representative himself.
I later found out the decision was made based on the appearance of my skin. I have some breakouts and textured skin on my nose normal and manageable conditions that should not warrant exclusion from an event that claims to represent modern beauty.
To be very clear: I showed up early, presented myself professionally, and was ready to model. I was disqualified not for my walk, my attitude, or my presence but for something as human as textured skin.
This experience was hurtful, humiliating, and deeply unprofessional. I trusted that brands like Kiko Milano, especially in today's global beauty space, upheld values of diversity, inclusivity, and respect.

The behavior I experienced contradicts those values entirely.
I am requesting an internal review of this incident and a formal response to understand how Kiko Milano plans to ensure such discriminatory actions do not occur again. It is important for your brands reputation in Kenya and the wider African market that your regional partners uphold the standards that Kiko Milano is known for.
Pros:
  • Discrimanative backward beauty standards

Preferred solution: a formal investigation

All of your talk of inclusion, dignity, respect and lack of discriminatory behavior sounds great. And it definitely applies to 99.999999% of the population and their choice of work.

External factors can’t be used to qualify a teacher, nurse, bus driver, police officer etc. Where they are used is in the extremely small percentage that makes up professional athletes and models. And when external appearing factors are used in these limited professions, they are not discriminatory. The 6’4” muscled male will get the QB tryout.

Not the 5’2” individual. The female that shows up with the wrong hairstyle, look or physical trait may not get chosen. You wanting your feelings handled delicately and asking for an investigation is ridiculous. You negatively set the tone by viewing your experience as a rejection.

Sometimes you don’t get chosen. And being told the reason doesn’t make it wrong or mean discrimination was involved.

You are only ASSuming it was because of the condition of your skin.

Guest

You have a lot to learn. I suspect you are not going to have the modeling career you envision.

Guest

You aren't going to make it as a model. Models have to learn how to take rejection.

Not every company is going to want you to represent their brand, no matter how fabulous you think you are or how many people have told you that you are. Brands have the right to select whoever THEY want to model their clothes, makeup, etc etc.

The fact you want a formal investigation shows your unprofessionalism and word will get out quickly that you are "difficult to work with". I am not even a model, but this all just common sense.

Thank you for your feedback. While I understand that rejection is part of any industry, it’s important to distinguish between professional rejection and discriminatory behavior.

As a model or anyone working in the fashion industry, it’s not just about the clothes or makeup it’s about how people are treated and the standards that are set. A formal investigation isn’t about being “difficult,” it’s about holding brands accountable when their actions impact people’s dignity and self-worth. I’m simply asking for reflection on how things are handled, especially when exclusion is involved. I believe in growth and respect, and that’s the foundation of any professional environment.

I’ll keep working on myself, but it’s also important for brands to evolve and ensure everyone feels valued. also im not a model

This child needs to learn to accept rejection without making ASSumptions. It is a lot easier to claim it was because of their skin than to admit they are not qualified. Cowardly as well.

I bought a liquid black eyeliner from Kiko Ambience mall Gurgaon It was 70% off product. Being an international brand how can you sell products expiring in 3-4 months on 70% off!
