Verified ReviewerUrgent Complaint Regarding Misrepresentation of Employment Termination
Dear Khaleej Times,
My name is Syed Sahidur Rahman, and I am writing to bring to your attention a serious issue I am currently facing with my former employer. I am seeking your assistance and advice on how to resolve this matter, as my efforts to address it with the concerned authorities have been unsuccessful.
Recently, I received a redundancy letter from my former company. Following this, I requested a cancellation letter from the company to apply for unemployment insurance. However, I was provided with a cancellation application to acknowledge, which I signed without reading the reason stated in it. Unfortunately, the reason was mentioned as 'Resignation by the worker.'
As a result, my application for unemployment insurance was rejected because the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) records showed that I had resigned voluntarily. Despite reaching out to my employer, MOHRE, and the Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILOE) scheme, I have not received any assistance or resolution.
My former employer also tried contacting MOHRE & ILOE and sent emails, however, the claim remains rejected and now all the blame is on me for signing the application without reading it thoroughly. However, I firmly believe that it was the company's responsibility to ensure the accuracy of the documents and minimize any potential errors.
As my job has been made redundant, I am facing financial issues and am hoping that my company will do something to support me.
I have all the relevant documents, including the redundancy letter from the company, to support my claims. I am seeking your guidance on what steps I should take next to rectify this situation and secure the unemployment benefits I am entitled to.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response and advice.
Sincerely,
Syed Sahidur Rahman

Verified Reviewer | London, EnglandEmirates Skywards a Fraud
Greetings from Houston. I have been a Platinum member for the last 5 years and have more than 1.4m miles in my and my family account.
The last 3 to 4 months I have been trying to book economy award ticket as far out as February 2025. Since my 900,000 miles are expiring, I wanted to book tickets for my family members but to my surprise economy award tickets are not available not for this month but for the next 10 to 11 months. I do not believe a reputed airline like Emirates would resort to illegitimate and unethical tactics of forcing a member to book Flex tickets and redeem more miles. How can you not have economy award tickets far out 10 to 11 months.
In that case you extend the miles for 3 more years as it is Emirates ruse to not show availability of award tickets. I consider it as fraudulent as it coerces and forces members to redeem miles to buy the expensive Flex ticket. Emirates is maneuvering and manipulating the booking via miles system to their advantage. This is cheating the customers.
What do you want me to do with my 900,000 miles expiring.
Do you know how long it takes to accumulate 900,000 miles? I have contacted Emirates associates and representatives at-least 10 times in the last 3 months and they have told me they do not have any economy award tickets as far out 10 to 11 months. Please stop this fraudulent and unethical ways and help me utilize my miles.
I am in the USA so please call 281686****. I have been loyal to Emirates which you can figure out from my membership number ending in 033.
