Voic My wife and I drove to Kenwood Pet Clinic last Friday to drop our dog Tovi off for a surgical procedure on both of her back legs. We arrived at 752AM.

While my wife Nora was waiting in the car for me to come out, she was approached by a man who got very angry and aggressive and loud with her. The man said through the window that she cannot park next to the building that she needs to park in one of the parking spaces. Since I was going to be out in less than a minute, and because she was so upset by his aggressiveness, she was unable to move immediately. The man then returned very angry and then pointed to each of the seven parking spots and started yelling ONE!

TWO! Three! Four! Five!

Six! Seven! You have all those spots there that are open, you need to move to one immediately! When Nora told him she wasnt parking but rather waiting for me, he said it doesnt matter, you need to move into one of those parking spots NOW.

He was very upset, and his aggressiveness and close proximity to my wife caused her to become concerned for her own safety at that point. When I came out a minute later, she was so upset she was physically shaking. I had never seen Nora so upset. She asked me who Craig Turino was, and I said thats the doctor whos going to operate on Tovi.

She had never met him before, because our regular doctor is Dr. Shulman. I asked why she had moved to a parking spot, and she said Turino got really angry at her and bullied her into moving.

The whole incident was just strange, because the parking lot was virtually empty, and because we were there at before the clinic even opened.. People park next to the building all of the time, and the parking lot is shared by several businesses.

Also, Nora wasnt even parked, she was sitting behind the wheel waiting for me to come out. And if Dr. Turino has such a huge problem with people parking next to the building, why is there not one single sign on the wall?

But it gets worse. Following the surgery, Dr.

Torino called and said I needed to pick up Tovi by 1pm. I thought that was odd, because they were supposed to keep her until 3 PM due to general anesthesia and other safety concerns. Then he said that he wasnt going to charge us for the procedure, and that we can never bring Tovi or any of our other pets back to their clinic. He said it was because Nora disrespected him in the parking lot.

I was shocked. I was even more shocked to hear that he wasnt going to charge for the procedure.

When I came to pick up Tovi at 1pm, the discharge attendant went over the discharge instructions with me. She said I needed to come back for a postop exam, but then she was confused because there was no date and time on the discharge sheet. I told her Turino wasnt allowing me to bring Tovi back.

It was a really awkward moment for her, she seemed surprised and concerned about that. I am also concerned about Tovi not getting complete medical care for the surgery.

We have been taking our dogs to Kenwood Pet Clinic for 20 years. Weve been going to Dr. Schulman for our exams and routine checkups.

Turino decided to close our account without even speaking to Doctor Schulman. Turino never shouldve even operated on Tovi, given his emotional state; we are left with a sinking feeling that our dog may not have received good treatment under such circumstances.

When I left Dr. Shulman a message to call me, Turino called back instead. He said I am not allowed to talk to Dr.

Schulman, that the matter is closed, and that Doctor Schulman would not be able to reactivate our account. Turino had the arrogance to think I wanted to get the account reopened, which could not have been further from the truth.

Tovi is having difficulty recovering, her wounds seem to be opening up and theres a lot of blood. When I called Dr. Shulman about this, he just said there are plenty of other good vets around.

He would not even allow me to bring her back in to check on her wounds. Schulman did not want to hear or side of the story about what happened in the parking lot, which seemed really odd. We are now left with the difficulty of finding a new doctor, on short notice, to take us on as a new customer, and to look at Tovis wounds. Most clinics dont want to take on a new patient when there are complications to begin with from a procedure they didnt even do.

And then theres the stigma of having to explain why we cant go back to the clinic that did the procedure, which really complicates whether the new clinic wants to get involved in the first place.

Its like a Catch-22 and we are stuck in the middle of it. This whole ordeal has been a total nightmare for us.
