Scam, smoke and mirrors.
- - Charged for my husband’s knee infection by a provider he didn’t see.
- - 3k was sent to collections and a 4k bill was discounted by half.
I got a bill for my husband’s infection from a partial knee from snome provider he never saw. 543.87.
Anthem told me to pay 48.22 for the bill in full to an agent that spoke very poor English. She agreed. No other bills were sent. Pe anthem, I knew they were not accepting payments so I kept calling.
One rep told me a bill in May was taken care of. Great! Or so I thought. 3k.
They were out of network and we had no choice in who the doc was that “saw” my husband in the hospital. Only place the surgeon worked emergencies out of for infections. Had to go back to remove the entire knee. He was out for over 6 months.
We moved into a barn. Had to sell our house. Seriously. I find out today that the bill (I never received) for 3k was turned Over to collections.
And the 4 k bill, for all my trouble? They’d cut half price. I shouldn’t have to pay anything. We met catastrophic in April.
Cogent doesn’t care. So 7k for 4 docs and only 1 saw him. I’ve never had collections in my life. I’m a total mess.
Can’t send me a transcript of the “recorded” conversation but “they listened to it”
And assured me that agent asked for an EOB. I never heard of the term until last week. She took my payment in full for a date of service. What she may have documented was a lie.
Strange how I can’t hear what was said. But for my troubles I can pay half. Can’t wait to see what the collections comes up with. Total BS.
Got a broken husband, leg longer than the other, joint is loose and knee is three times the size of normal, still working but God forbid any compensation unless he goes all out destitute. We aren’t those kinds of people. Malpractice? Yeah, probably.
Screwed over? All the way around. And discount for my troubles? Where is th KY jelly?
Just forget it and put it to me hard. What’s another couple years living in a barn/garage??? I have running water and an indoor commode. I call total BS but at least I have integrity.
I haven’t lied or scammed. If they can sleep at night, good for them.
Barns worked for many a people. Makes you appreciate what you got but it sure sucks to see your kid suffer.
